Hi there ladies !

Just starting while the java is a brewin' ! :p

Didn't accomplish a darn thing yesterday on the "to do" front. Today is another day. All went well so what the heck. Got home well after 12 so wasn't up until 8.

Plan is GS Legs and hopefully the energy for a 30 cardio session.

BBL . . .

Mornin' Ladies,

I was woke up by DH getting out of bed at 4:30 this morning with gout. It is now 10am and I feel so groggy. I ended up taking my weight and measurements for the new year. Then I read FitnessRx for a while before cutting out a ton of coupons from the Sunday paper. I've also made my grocery list so I can go shopping anytime.

On the CLX rotation this is a scheduled rest day and I may take it as such. My plan was to do lowmax or Imax 2 or 3. The way I'm feeling right now I don't think I could manage any cardio other than the EXT at a very slow pace.

Today is the last day of my vacation and I have to return to work tomorrow. It sure doesn't sound appealing at all. At least I will be preparing my meals for the week later today! Cleaner eating...here I come.

Jacque-Somedays just aren't long enough to get everything done. GS Legs is a goodie.

Hi everyone, bbl to see what everyone else is up to.

Hey girls

I haven't done a whole lot of anything today. These past couple of days have been pretty low key. Just finishing up some laundry today and that's about it.:) Tomorrow will start an a$$ bustin week so I'm gonna enjoy it while I can and not feel guilty about it. I hate how the time just flies by with do-nothing days like this though.

Jacque - Glad to hear you are getting some much needed down time. I know when I look back at a wasted day I usually feel guilty about it, but sometimes ya just gotta say....you know what.....I needed that!;)
So how'd the sharks do yesterday?

Diana - I think a rest day today would fit the bill, especially since you got a double workout yesterday. Maybe a nap instead of a workout would refresh you and help start your week on a good note.

So you're ready to get back on the wagon tomorrow huh? Ya, me too. I'm not looking forward to it, but I'm cooking a smoked turkey today and then will have lots of meat for the rest of the week and make some soup too. Yummy!! I have a grocery list ready to go too. They have lean cuisines on sale this week so will stock up on some of those. I don't eat those very often, but I like to have them on hand just in case I need to reach for something quick. It is a damage control tool I like to have handy.

Thanks for the kudos on the house. Our mortgage wasn't that much since DH, my dad, and FIL helped do all the excavating and building. We saved lots of $$ before we even started which helped a lot!

Wow! 4.5% is a great rate. I wasn't aware that money market accounts could lock up your money. Are you sure it's not a CD? Still, 5 months is not that long to get a great rate like that. I also think it's great that DH is getting involved in the finances, especially since that seems to be the issue that most couples fight about. There's not much to fight about when you are both involved in the finances right? Actually, I'm sure he will be more appreciative that you take care of most of it when he starts to see what all is involved and how much things cost.

I'm sure 3 boys would be a complete madhouse some days huh? Geez - 2 of em drive me nuts most of the time! This is the first time I have had to deal with any punches in the face. Of coarse, they hit and wrestle all of the time, but they are usually just messin' around. They were both extremely tired and I'm sure that was the trigger, but they have to learn to deal with it sooner or later. There's gonna be lots of those days ahead of them when they are exhausted and still need to make responsible decisions. I would've made them pay for the dental bill too. I'll bet that got your point across eh?

Better go grab a light lunch and pick out a workout. I got my 15# bell today and I really like the feel of it much more than the 20# reebok one I have. The handle is bigger and seems roomier and easier to pass from side to side. I may just have to try Empire State again.

Have a great Sunday girls

Angie

I'm back 'cuz I just haven't started anything else yet. Got involved watching a National Geographic about the pit bulls they took from Mike Vick's fighting ring. Was a couple hours long but I couldn't stop watching. A place called "Dogtown" in Utah took in 22 of them and is rehabing them. Some excellent stories and some strong emotions - both them and me !

It's over so time to get moving . . .

Diana - nice workouts yesterday ! You are so dedicated ! 4.5% even for a CD these days is excellent. In Nov I rolled one over at 3.25 for 12 mos and thought I was doing well. Got another coming up in Feb and will have to start scouting soon. I've been keeping them in the credit union but may venture away from there if the rates are too low.

Enjoy your rest day - sounds like you'll be working on the food side of things with shopping and prepping for next week.

Angie - well the Sharks won but nearly had a tie game when all of a sudden about half way into the 3rd period then allowed 2 goals which left them only up by 1. They have backed off a bit from their 'near perfection' games and are not quite as "tight" as they were the first part of the season. Keeps them working on new things I guess, but can be a real nail bighter for us fans ya know? ;)

Nice job on no mortgage. Sounds like you built a home? Here in CA you have to go pretty far out or be nearly a millionaire to do that. We have a residential home, 1550' with 3 bdrms/2 baths. That was some big bucks in 2000. Think we will be done about the same time as Diana - 13 - 14 yrs. But I am worried about not having the write off in taxes. That is a big chunk for the mortgage and prop taxes. Guess I need to work on ways to offset the taxes . . .

OK - off to do something that will ease my mind in the "productive" arena. Enjoy your day ladies !

Well, I'm back after doing Empire State. It's seems like a fairly easy workout when doing it....I think because of the breaks. I also don't sweat very much making me think it's an easier workout, but I'm already feeling the DOMS in my rear and mid to low back. I'm almost afraid of what I'm gonna feel like tomorrow. I don't like the fact that there is no cool down stretch, but I put in disc 2 and did the stretches in that one so I should be good to go. The snatches, cleans, and overhead presses were much more do-able with the 15# KB.

Jacque - Any show with pets on them sucks me right in. I'm such a softie with dogs. I hope those dogs are going to do fine. It's so sad that they were treated with such disrespect.

Yes, we did help build our home. DH hired a contractor with the agreement that we would be helping him. My dad and DH did the wood ceilings and more decorative stuff like the contertops and tile. The contractor did the mundane things like drywall, windows, roof, etc. The cost of living here is wayyyyyyy cheaper than in California I'm sure. *lol* Certainly don't need to be a millionare to build your own home.....thank goodness. And b/c our homes are not as pricey, I'm sure our taxes aren't as high either. Although, they seem high enough to me.

I'm so jealous that you have a team to root for. I soooo miss nascar. February can't come soon enough for me. So do the Sharks still have a good record going?

OMG - DH is watching Smoky and the Bandit. Someone rescue me!! ACK!!

Hey Ladies,

Well Angie, I took your advice and napped this afternoon. I slept for about an hour and a half and felt so much better when I got up. I made dinner-baked chicken and steamed vegetables. It was good, but I don't think the kids cared for it much but they ate it. I also cooked my egg whites w/spinach and made salads for a couple of days. I have plenty of apples, oranges, grapefruit, and cherries on hand too.

I'm just starting to get my work stuff together for tomorrow. I will be going to bed early and setting my alarm and hope to get back into the swing of things tomorrow.

BTW, after looking at the rotation, this wasn't supposed to be a rest day. Oh well, I'm not too concerned about. I prefer to take my rest days during the week on a day I don't get up in time.

Jerod starts basketball this week too. He's playing for the Middle School and the rec ctr league so he will be busy.

Angie-I'll have to ask DH if it's a CD or money market. I was with him when we opened it but I honestly can't remeber. It worked for us because the term is short, 5 months.

Jacque-My mortgage is on what I would consider the high side but really don't have a comparison to CA prices. We have a 2 story (neighborhood home) with a full basement, 2800 sq. ft. We pay $1400 and that includes our taxes and interest. I would much rather have that amount every month to save etc., even pay taxes if I have to. I can still claim my 18yr old since he is in college and living at home, and of course Jerod. We may need to revisit our tax withholdings here pretty quick. You and Ang probably have more insight into that since you both deal with acct/financial stuff at work.

Hopefully Wendy and Laura will be reporting back with their WINNINGS!!!

Good Night!
