Daily workouts with a personal trainer & Xtrain?

Hi everyone!

I got my new DVDs yesterday and am eager to start the 90 rotation, but I have one slight complication. I work out with an awesome personal trainer every Tuesday morning. We do a lot of boot camp type exercises and heavy weights (so nice to have someone there to push me a little harder than I push myself). Any thoughts about how to work the 90-day rotation around those weekly workouts? I can't really put a heavy weights workout the day before or after I see her. I suppose I could do cardio on the days before and after, but then how do I fit in the Xtrain weight workouts? Any sense of which workouts I could skip, with my PT sessions serving as a substitute? I'm considering combining some of the Xtrain upper body workouts in a single day (doing a shorter premix of each--I'm not crazy enough to do two full workouts back-to-back).

ETA: I mean, WEEKLY workouts with a PT, not daily

How great that you have a trainer!

I guess how you incorporate these sessions depends upon which muscle groups your trainer focuses on most. If it's entire body, I would do cardio the day before and either rest or yoga the next day, then the remaining 5 days you can sequence Xtrain however you'd like.

Also, this could be a good conversation to have with your trainer, and s/he might be able to give suggestions or tailor your workouts to better suit the Xtrain rotation.

Good luck!

XTrain and Personal Trainer

The thing to remember about XTrain is it is an undulating workout program which means it is very easy to add or replace any workout. We've written 5 rotations for XTrain, but we could have written hundreds. What type of a workout are you doing with your personal trainer?....Cardio?....Heavy Weights?....Boot Camp?

Thanks for your responses! We do a lot of boot camp type stuff (burpees, kettlebells) and some heavier weights.
