Good morning!

Sandy....yes massages are great and good for you! I am getting another one in 2 weeks! I have shared that Airborne story many times....cannot believe I did that!

Laurie...Silent Lucidity is kind of a mello song. I didn't even find Queensryche until a couple of years ago. I like Annie Lennox too.

Mariángeles..not sure I would say P90X is better than Cathe, but what I liked is it was completely different and I learned some exercises I had never done before! I, like some of the other posters on this forum are thinking Hardcore might be more similar to P90X!!

Wendy...nice to see you again....missed your posts. I agree with BC and those Squat thrust climbers....}(

Annette...wow...I have never done those 2 floor workouts together. great job!!:7

I am doing PHH Bun Shaper and a 6 mile run. I got a great deal on running shoes from www.roadrunnersports.com they had Reeboks half off!!!

Enjoy the workouts.....:)...Carole

Hi good morning everybody . Today is my first day of the second week in the august rotation. Today is PLB and basic step. Carole enjoy yor run. Everybody have a great day.

Mariángeles a spanish terminator junkie. :)

Morning all! I did not workout this morning.:-( My husband is really sick and completely lost his voice because his throat is so swollen (we think he got it from the baby). Anyway, I spent the whole morning talking to his business partners trying to get his appointments for the day rescheduled. Poor guy!
Anyway, so it looks like I'll be having 2 rest days this week, which is not at all bad since I usually always workout six days a week. This will be a nice refresher for my body.

Hope everyone has a great morning!

Katie

Hi all,

Still have no internet. I had to change phone company first before getting a new internet connection. Things are so complicated overhere:(

Anyways, like you noticed I managed to get time on a computer with internet:) :)

Hope you are all sticking to your workout routines, of course you are! Silly me :)

Doing great on the running, and so is son no. 1. But am being very bad with the strength workouts. Just can't get out of bed. I am so very very very tired. I even get dizzy at times. My doctor had my blood tested, but everything is normal: no thyroid problems, glucose levels normal, etc. Guess it is all stress.... And it being december, with all those lovely foods... no good, scared to get on the scales. Don't wanna know about my fat% right now.

I still have some sort of tendonitis problems in my elbow. It just won't go away:(

BTW, I bought myself an early Xmas present: an elliptical trainer. My favourite when I was still a gym member. Don't know how much I'll use it once I have the hard core series at home :)

OK, have to leave you again,

Till next time,

Dutchie42 :) :)

Hi all! today i am doing c/w ...right Sandra? }( i wrote this weeks rotation down somewhere, but i can't find it. yesterday i ended up resting (except for my stretch) i had NO energy at all. but today is better and i am not nearly as sore as i anticipated. thank God.

Katie, i am sorry your husband is so sick. it sounds terrible, but you have a great attittude about your unexpected change of plans. so is the baby still sick too. i hope not:)

stayfit, how are you? how many risers do you use for basic step? i bought that first with b/f in november, but i don't like it. too easy. i read somewhere though that some add more risers than they would normally use to increase intensity. i haven't tried that because i like all he others so much better}(

Carole i am jealous!! another massage in 2 weeks! i got one last week and it was fabulous too! i think i might start them on a monthly basis. wouldn't it be great to have a masseuse on call 24 hrs a day? i wish! i would never leave the house again.

happy sweating everybody!!

Hello everyone;

Today is CTX leaner legs.

Sandra, I noticed that you teach yoga. What type of yoga do you teach and where do you teach? I taught Anusara yoga for two years when I lived in Houston. It was so much fun....I really miss it.

Have a nice day
:)

Yes, the baby is fine now. Now it's time to take care of my other big baby. Sigh... a woman's work is never done!:) Not to mention that tonight I have to go home and make Chocolate Cheesecake Tarts for the Christmas party my husband and his partners throw for their clients, which is tomorrow night.

Katie

Hi Jes. I like this dvd. I am not impartial. I always love all what Cathe makes for one thing or other. I usually do BS with one riser.I don't like use the risers with my step. I am short and the height in the step is not good for my knees. To increase the intensity I jump higher or add jumps. BS is easy but that is what I need today.I am tired after my first week in the november rotation. There is no comparasion between BS or IMAX 2 but I have used BS during my injury and it maked me feel better.

Katie I hope your husband will be Ok soon.

Dutchie I understand your frustration. I had lot of problems with my phone company one month ago. I hope you would not have lot of time using the eliptical because it means hardcore is in our hands. Enjoy your cristhmas present.

Good morning!

This morning was Cardio & Weights. Aaaahhhh. A nice, quick little workout that left me with more energy than when I started it. I like those. Sort of an "active rest" day, it feels. I think I will do a very thorough yoga routine this afternoon; it feels like the kind of day to be nice to my body.

Katie - isn't it so rewarding to see progress? BC is definitely the workout to show you how far you've come! I'm glad I was able to help keep you motivated to eat as healthy as possible. It's a tough time of year for sticking to your convictions, which is all the more reason to stick to them. Yes, BC has a dread factor for me. Every workout has some level of dread for me; either there is a specific move I don't like, or it's just very intense. The dread only exists prior to the workout; once I get going I'm fine, and once I'm done, I'm very self-satisfied that I did it. So, when the old dread feelings come up, I just tell myself to ignore that little devilish voice, get my shoes on, and get moving. IMAX has the biggest dread factor for me, and used to really stress me out the night before. Finally, one morning after I'd powered my way through without much difficulty, I looked at the tv during the cooldown and said "That wasn't so hard! I'm not ascared of you!" That seemed to reset my mental programming of that workout, and I don't dread it very much any more. If it had the fun factor of IMAX2, I'd do it much more often. I hope you aren't the next one to get that terrible bug going through your house!!

Jes, how exactly do you put your own music to All-Step? Do you have some sort of workout music that has the same tempo? Mariángeles does this sometimes, too, and I just can't wrap my head around how this would work? And yes, CW was on the books for today. It should be a nice wake up for your muscles after a rest day. Enjoy!!

Mariángeles, Stretch Max may actually be the one I'm anticipating the most! Unless Jes comes out with a video called "Wrap Max", that is LOL! I'd preorder that. And I also agree with you that each of Cathe's workouts has a place in my library. Working out at full-intensity every day, or doing the same activity every day, is a recipe for injury and boredom, IMO.

Sandy, yes, Canada is terrifically scenic and extremely diverse in its geography. I love travelling around this country. Backpacking provides the greatest opportunity for enjoying the scenery, which is why we used to be such avid backpackers. I would like to explore much more of the world's natural landscapes; the US has a number of areas that we would like to hike through.

Dutchie, that sucks that you're having such problems with your internet connection! I'm glad to see you managed to get some online time somehow. If you don't have the energy to do weight work in the morning, why don't you tack on one body part per day at the end of your runs? You seem to have energy in the evening, so why not take advantage of it? CTX does a thorough job for each body part, and only takes 10 minutes a day. Doing one segment from Power Hour per day would also do a good job, and take only about 5 minutes. It might not be the kind of weight workout you would like to be doing, but at least it's more than you are currently doing. Just a suggestion.

Lisa, I'm not the yoga teacher; that appears to be Laurie. But you are a former yoga teacher? What exactly is Anusara yoga? I do yoga daily; it's become a necessity for my sense of well-being. And after a workout like LL, my legs and feet are usually begging for a good stretch!

Have a good day!
Sandra

Good day All! I spent my morning teaching two classes at the gym. BodyPump then Flowing yoga. I usually take a 15 minute break between classes but the new schedule didn't reflect this so I went from barbell to yoga mat in less than 2 minutes. Very strange energy shift.

Carole you must go through runners like crazy. I get about 9 mos. out of a pair, how often do you change your shoes?

Sandra, I think it's FABULOUS that CW feels like an easy day. That's a statement that about 90% of the population would find completely and utterly ridiculous, awesome work!!!!:)

Lisa, I have been yearning to try an Anusara class. Yoga Journal had a wonderful article about John Friend and Anusara in their Aug. 04 issue. I love the sentiments of 'opening to grace' and approaching yoga with 'an attitude of softhearted devotion'. The principle of 'inner body bright' also speaks to me. YJ describes it as 'the inner lustre of Spirit naturally shining forth', it's like poetry.
It took Bikram's about 5 years to filtre up this far north (Southern Ontario) so it will probably be a while before I see Anusara here:-( :)

I'm off to wrap presents before my Gaggle of Girls gets home then we're off for haircuts and highlights!!

Take Care
Laurie

Hi all!
Today is C&W followed by a L&G premix.

Sandra...I feel the same way regarding that dread factor before a cathe workout! But like you said, once I get going, I am fine then afterwards I feel so accomplished! I have been to Canada only once about 5 years ago..went to Niagara Falls. I had a great time but there is SOO much more of Canada I would love to see!D

Dutchie...hope you are up and running very soon:)

Mariangeles....I love PLB! Have fun with it:D

Katie...I hope your DH feels better soon!

Carole...good for you!! OK now that's it, your post is making me pick up the phone to make an appt with my friend....my shoulders are threatening to walk out on me unless I get a massage very soon:p :7!!

Laurie...I love Yoga Journal and I have that issue you are referring to!! I love yoga and pilates but I find I cannot do it at my gym...there is a wonderful class, a nice mix of yoga and pilates, taught by a wonderful lady just before my 7pm advanced step class on wednesdays, and as much as I love it, there is no way I can go from being in a meditative state to stepping and swirling around like a madwoman 2 minutes later. Plus I go to Bally's and that is DEFINITELY not the right atmosphere for these types of classes.....the instructor may be playing appropriately soothing music but the room can't filter out the crazy club music played all through the rest of the gym! Aughhh! So I practice at home:)

Have a great day:D

Sandra...sorry about that...I just love to chat with you I suppose!

Anusara is a style of Hatha yoga that focuses on alignment and what John refers to as "qualities of the heart". It's awesome! Having been in fitness for quite a while I have participated in many different styles of yoga. I have appreciation for all of the styles; however, it wasn't until I took an Anusara class that I really came to the realization of what the intention of practicing was. There is such a huge difference between practicing "asana" and practicing "yoga". Asana is really a very small part of what yoga is all about.

Laurie...definitely take a class if you ever have the opportunity. I'm not familiar with Canada but there are Anusara teachers there (but just a few). There is a teacher named Shraddha Schaner who is in Waterloo, Ontario (519) 746-2691, don't know if that is close to you or not.:)

Carole it was a doozy let me tell you. Thankfully I am not paying for it today but yesterday during the 2nd workout my boys could see my legs shaking!!

Today I did PS Triceps, PUB Triceps and CTX Step and Intervals.:)

Have a great day!:D

Thanks everyone for your well wishes regarding my DH. It turns out he does have an adult version of croup. He is on antibiotics and they gave him a prescription for a codine syrup so he can sleep. I don't think I'll be seeing much of him tonight! :+

Katie

Hey! i finished C&W. aside from dropping an 8lb weight on my foot (&*$@!#) it was great.

Sandra- to answer your question about the music, i have a cd that is algs all mixed to aerobic tempo. i don't know how many beats per min or anything but, whatever it is it works out with the steps. allstep is the only one i use it for though. And to be perfectly honest, i was thinking of starting production of "wrap- max" for next christmas!!!:p :p very funny. Want to co-star or help with directing???? LOL. you crack me up.

I can't wait for tomorrow. I love SB!

hope everyone has a great evening!!

jes

Gosh, I have been so busy lately getting ready for my children's Birthday parties, Christmas parties, shopping etc.. I haven't had time to check in. However I have had time to workout and that's what is most important! Yesterday was Cardio Kicks and Pilates Ab routine. Today was walking for 40 minutes and advanced pilates tape for 50 minutes.
Friday looks like IMAX 1 for me. It's been a while since I did this one. I hate those scissors!!!! In case I don't check in for a bit.... take care, stay strong, keep true to your goals! :) Susan

Hi everyone,

Today was KPC. I really feel like my back and my rear end got a workout today and normally I don't feel it there:) Last night I did S&H abs and doing KPC abs this morning has sure made my abs burn. }(

Carole-it's nice to know you thought of me-Thanks

Katie-hope your DH starts feeling better and I hope he doesn't pass it on to you.;( Oh, and enjoy your rest days.

Well, its off to paint my garage....I can't wait till I have more time to catch up on the forums.

Bye for now, Wendy

Hi all,

Today I spent most of my day off on the computer Christmas shopping. I am completely & totally freaked out.

This morning I did S&H L&S (woohoo!) & now I'm off to do some ramping & some rebounding. I need something fun.

I hate Christmas.x(

Ruth:(

Awwww Ruth, your post made me feel so bad for you, you sound positively Grinchey!! I hope you feel better after some ramping and rebounding fun. Sounds like you need to do something wild and wacky and FUN to chase those Christmas blahs away. No suggestions, just a cyber wish that your Christmas funk melts away very, very soon!:)

Take Care
Laurie:)

Hi Laurie,

I appreciate that. Thanks so much for caring! I do feel better but not from working out...well, it probably helped. But then I read a book which reminded me how very, very lucky I am.
Sorry to be Grinchy. Yesterday we lost a patient who was actually owned by my dear friend & fellow Tech who was working on him with me. It was just horrible. Then today Christmas shopping! I spent hours online & only made a dent. And the money! I sure wish we had an icon with eyes popping out of the head! LOL
Christmas has bad memories for me as well...people tend to die this time of year. ~sigh~
But I'm out of my funk, for the time being. S T R E S S! Yikes!

Thanks again Laurie,
Ruth :) :) :)
