Morning Ladies,

Did you have a good night's sleep?

Did L&G today without the stretch and added on PlyoX skipping the wu plus the UB only from HSTA then did a stretch of my own.

Now that I'm back online I just can't keep away from the internet. Ordered myself a hands-free leash today for my doggie Rover. I had one sort of, but Rover was attacked once while we were running by another dog who wasn't on a leash and I was in the middle of it all because I couldn't un-leash him (no pun intended). So now I've ordered one that has this release system. If he's attacked again, I can just unhook myself and get out of the way of those menacing teeth.

I also ordered one of those bungee rope leashes? Apparently it absorbs some of the pull from Rover. Which is a good thing when he spots a rabbit :) Anyways, he's asleep right now in his very new doggie bed. He ate the other one. And my those things are expensive.

Son no.1 won't be home from school till late afternoon, and son no. 2 is off to the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam. Got the whole day to me me me:)

And yes Sandy, I live in Holland, in a small town about 20K from Amsterdam. Today the weather is horrible: 9C, a windchill of 4C, rain and winds up to 35/mph. Glad I got my run in yesterday:) Winter hasn't been very bad, actually. Only once it dipped below 0C during the day and only once we had sleet and a bit of mushy snow.

Have a great day ladies,

Dutchie:)

Hi Dutchie!!! Great to see you start this morning...:)...wow, you got in a awesome workout. I am only using segments of Plyo X these day as I'm running 6 days a week. So I read that ploymetrics can help increase strength in runners leg alot! The article reccommends 15 min 2-3 times a week. So I am trying for 2 14 minutes segments in my week.

Slept lots better last night. My DH had been gone for a few days and I slept awful without him. I was so tired yesterday that I couldn't get in my long run (only made 6 miles) so I'll try today. I am doing Timesaver 5 and a 9-10 mile run.

I just read about those hands free leashes. Sounds good and how is Rover? Busy I see...:+ :)

Hope all you ladies suffering headaches will be better today. I've never experienced a migraine and hope I never do....
x(

Enjoy your workouts....:)...Carole

Morning Everyone,

This morning was KPC-but I had to skip combos 1&3 since I was running short on time.

You all were cracking me up about the snoring DH's. Nice to know I'm not alone. What makes me mad is that he didn't even notice the slamming doors, the loud TV? When, not if, it happens again, it looks like I'll have to be just a bit;) louder:).

Dutchie- is your son going to the actual Anne Frank house? Wow, the thought of everything that family went through sends chills down my spine. It's been a long time since I read her diary but I remember it being amazing and heart-wrenching.

Carole- Glad you're sleeping better. I know what you mean about sleeping when they're gone. My DH is going to be going to Las Vegas next month and I'm dreading sleeping alone. I just get so used to him being there (even if his snoring sounds like a train going through my bedroom) that it is so strange when he's not.

Hope everyone is feeling well today.

Off to work....
Wendy

Hi good morning everybody. Today is ME and an hour in my static bike. there only 11 days left to finish this month. The hardcore is near. Have a great day everybody.

Mariángeles a spanish terminator junkie. :) :) :)

Morning, Ladies.

Well, I wimped out a bit last night. Was supposed to do LL and CTX upper body split.... After I was done with LL I just didn't have CTX in me so I ended up doing Basic Step upper body instead.;( I guess that's okay though coz I still felt "the burn". lol

Tonight is an hour of cardio for me. I think I'll give Power Max a run through. Did it succesfully all the way through for the first time last week. Would like to do it atleast once more before I move on to the next work out on that dvd. If I get my stability ball "up and running" I may add in some ab work too. Haven't done that since my 2nd trimester started!

I am one of the lucky ones...my DH is not a snorer. :) He only snores on rare occasions and it's not even that loud. If it bugs me though, one good punch in the ribs and he stops! lol

Have a great work out!

~Wendy~

Ugh... I am NEVER going to get rid of this cold!!! I wake up every morning planning to work out but my chest is always so congested I can hardly breathe! I am so frustrated!!! It's been almost a week and a half since I've worked out and I can feel it!!! My migraine finally went away, so that's a good thing!

My DH told me that he is not going to be able to take the baby to daycare for awhile (we used to alternate days) because he has to go in to the office really early (he has been going in at 4:45 for the past 3 days. Well on the days that he took the baby in I would do an hour and half workout rather than just an hour. So, now that he can't take her in I can only do hour workouts unless I get up at 4:30 and somehow I just don't see that happening. I really hope this is just a temporary situation. Things just aren't going well for me in the workout department right now.:-(

Happy working out to all of you. I once again will plan on tomorrow morning.

Katie

Morning,

I will be doing MIC. This one has a big dread factor for me. Once I get through the Hi/Lo then I will be fine. I always feel great after I finish this one though. Just don't like the Hi factor.}(

After the dentist this afternoon I may not want to exercise. Getting a tooth ground down for a crown. x(

Have a great day!

Good morning, everyone!

Today I did SB/SJP PM#4, which circuits the SB combos and the SJP hi/lo segments. I modified the hi/lo so much that it ended up being more lo than high. I finished my CTX rotation with triceps & biceps.

My heavens. I might have gotten 5 hours of what you could call sleep last night. And it was on the couch, because when I have a hard time falling asleep, any little sound coming from DH drives me insane. So, I have to chose between either smothering him with a pillow, or sleeping on the couch. So far, I've always chosen the latter. Without going into great detail, the gist of the situation is that for two nights in a row, right at bedtime, I have had anxiety attacks. Last night was worse than the night before, and I almost went into hyperventilation mode, and my heart was racing out of my chest. I got things under control, and had a long talk with DH about what needs to be changed in order to deal with the things that are causing me so much stress. We have decided to make some big changes in our lives, and I am very, very excited about them. So, once the anxiety got resolved, I then became extremely excited about all these changes, and my mind wouldn't stop racing. My heartrate has felt slightly elevated since the anxiety attack started. I took my workout really easy this morning, going for a level equivalent to a brisk walk or a light jog. Part way into the workout I started sweating really heavy, much more than usual, and then it suddenly stopped, I felt my heartrate return to normal, and I could breathe properly again. It's like the steady pace of the exercise reset my cv system from "hyper" to "normal". Exercise is honestly the best medicine. So, enough about me. Many of you really are not doing very well these days! This is not good!

Wendymin - I can related to the mental muddledness created by the gestating body. The amount of times I've almost poured coffee on my cereal, or put the ice cream in the oven over the past couple of weeks is very disconcerting. It's like my brain is working in slow motion, or moving through goo. I don't blame you for calling it quits on the CTX after LL; that is a very strenuous workout.

Dutchie - When you mentioned Anne Frank's house, my pg brain went to thoughts of Prince Edward Island and Anne of Green Gables!! Probably the complete antithesis of Anne Frank's house in Amsterdam!! I didn't even know that it still existed; I would value visiting it some day. It's my understanding that her diary has both an edited and an unedited version. I read it for a Catholic highschool english literature course, so I imagine I read the edited version. I would like to read the unedited version; now that I'm an adult I will probably understand the situation in a new light.

Annette - my apologies if this is too personal, but is it possible that you are approaching menopause? I've heard that in the years leading up to actual menopause, women can begin to have anovulatory cycles, that they're normal and nothing to worry about.

Sandy - oh dear things are sounding desperate!! What do you need? How can I help? Are you lacking energy? Or just interest and motivation? A CTX rotation might be just what the doctor ordered. Short, intense, varied, new workouts that will get the job done. A Timesaver rotation sounds about perfect for you, too. Keep moving, Sandy, even if it's low intensity and short. You'll feel better about having actually done something, and it will keep you in the fitness loop. A body in motion remains in motion; a body at rest remains at rest. Take an Active Rest Break; slow down, but don't stop! And remember, this is just a phase, and means nothing about how you will be performing next week, next month, or next year.

Jes - I'm sending codeine vibes your way. Smart girl for staying in bed; even smarter for having the laptop wired up so you can chat with us.

Wendybdh - my DH is going to Vegas, too! He's going next Thursday, and will be home Sunday. It's a work-related "conference." They're going to stay at Treasure Island. Where is your DH staying?

I'd give my eye teeth to be in Vegas right now. We got serious freezing rain y-day and last night. My Explorer has literally become vaccuum-sealed in an inch of ice. If I am able to get the key in the lock so that I can get in and start the engine, I may be able to let it self-defrost, but it will take at least a half-hour. I'm not sure taking Paris to gymnastics tonight is going to be worth the effort.

Okay, this has been more than long enough, even for a rambler like me! If you've read the whole post, I give you Bonus Points. Spend them however you see fit.

Have a great day!
Sandra

Katie,

Have you seen a doctor about your chest congestion? Is it possible that you have bronchitis or pneumonia? Normal chest colds usually don't last this long, at this level of intensity.

Concerned,
Sandra

Hi everyone!

I am taking a day off today but it's for a good cause........I am getting a massage and I'm sooo excited, yippeeeee:7 :7 :7 !!!!!!!!! I am in desperate need of one so hopefully I will be feeling quite refreshed and ready to rock once again:)

Katie, please go see the doctor soon, sounds like you've had that cold way longer than normal. Get checked out to make sure it's not bronchitis or worse yet pneumonia.

Sandra, thanks so much for the encouragement, I really need it:) I think it's a little of everything...that plus a few things you know about....fun fun, not! Yes you are so right about just making sure to move..even though I felt crappy about not finishing all of imax 2 i felt good just doing something for 1/2 hour!!

Mariangeles....I LOVE ME it's such a great workout! Thanks for the ideas for substituting SS I will defintely keep it in mind!!

have a great day!

Hi Sandra, Yes in all actuallity I am in the age frame of perimenopause ( I will be 41 in March) though I think I am still too young for missing periods altogether. I could be wrong.:+ The doctor did say that I could miss a month and that wasn't a problem but also gave me the option of having it started for me using Provera. I am giving it to Monday then I will make a decision, I might just let it skip a month as long as the bloating goes away. :) And no I don't mind you asking I really don't have any female friends so discussing it here gives me somewhere where other women just might know what I am talking about. I live with my dh and 3 sons so female companionship is nonexistant around these parts,LOL!!

I did Pyramid Upper Body Triceps and Biceps and I might do CTX 10-10-10 later. I started to do it but one of my boys needed help with school work to I had to stop.

Have a great day!!

Hi again, Annette. Just popping online for a quick reply before finally hitting the showers. Oh, the benefits of working at home!

Can I recommend a book for you to read, that might be very useful? Toni Weschler published a book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility." I know you are not trying to get pregnant, but this book is so much more than that. It's about the female reproductive process, in its entirity. She gives very specific information about how to chart your basal body temperature, and a few other body signs, to determine exactly when (if) you ovulate. I've come to see that this knowledge is core to understanding all of the phases, quirks, and symptoms of the reproductive process. Using her very easy charting procedure, women can have full knowledge about what is happening with their body, at every stage of their reproductive years.

I used it to help me get pregnant, because my cycles have been very irregular in the last few years. Turns out, my ovulation was anything by consistent. The first month I accurately charted, I got pregnant. Prior to charting, it took me 10 months to get pregnant (ended in a miscarriage). My ob/gyn was offering to put me on fertility drugs - charting was a much more effective way to go, IMO.

The book is a must-have for every woman, IMO. It will give you knowledge about yourself that you can only otherwise get via carefully timed blood tests, waiting, and multiple doctor visits. I am grateful to the person on these forums (Autumn) for recommending it to me, and will be giving a copy to my daughter when she enters puberty. I also think that menospause will be much less confusing time for me, because I'll have the tools to be able to monitor my body and understand what is going on.

You seem to be a person who likes paying close attention to your body and its signals. If that's the case, I think you would value the information in this book.

I recommended it to Wendybdh, so she might want to chime in with her opinion.

All the best,
Sandra

Annette,

I don't have but a minute or two to check back in but Sandra recommended the TCOYF book to me since my DH and I are TTC. I have learned so much about the inner workings of my own body. I was clueless until I read this book. Nice to know that I don't have vaginal infections every week- cervical mucus is normal-who would have thunk it? (sorry TMI) I also wouldn't have known that my temperature is not always 98.6 degrees.

Anyway, I'll check in later,
Wendy

Hi everyone,

Sounds like Vegas is a popular place with the DH's. I just picked my husband up from the airport last night from a few days out there.
Very glad he is home; but, I sleep like a rock with or without him}(

Sandra, I did read your entire post:) Keep hold of those brownie points for me:) Have you tried taking a few minutes out of each day for some quiet meditation...it's really great for anxiety.

Laurie Mac....I'm so glad to hear you don't like the Hi part of Hi/Lo in MIC. I have to say that I don't like it either!!! Always dread that partx(

Dutchie...Holland, wow, I bet it is beautiful there!

Isn't it interesting that we are from such distant places...All over the US, Canada, Spain and Holland. I don't know about you guys but I find that very inspiring.

My workout today went well, the legs are sore! Gym: legs, back, & chest:7

Hello gals:

Today I did cardio kicks, minus the drills. I didn't have enough time to do those, plus yesterday was CTX upper body, so my arms are tired enough!

Sandra: I used that TCOYF book back in the days when I was TTC. I too had very irregular cycles and it worked like a charm--more than once.

Off to my dh's office party tonight. Both his and my office pushed their holiday parties to January to avoid party overload. The funny thing is they are 2 days apart, creating guess what? Party overload! Oh well, can't complain.
