I have the opposite problem from Becky right now! I'm sleeping too much and doing things I've never done before. This morning my alarm had been going off 30 MINUTES before I heard it! 30 minutes!! I still can't believe it!

Today is a rest day since I have WW.

I did sleep some but only about 3 hours, 4 tops ! That's not enough for 2 days and I'm feeling it !:-(

KPC is on tap today but I will sub a CC or the bike or something.
and hope I can nap later !!!

Hi Ladies. It's only Tuesday and I am already off my game plan. My mom was admitted to the hospital for some medical issues so I spent last night there instead of in my basement working out. Needless to say I am quite tired. Anyway, my mom seems ok but they are going to closely monitor her as she appeared to have a "Transient Ischemic Attack." I'll be at the hospital this afternoon to tease her about how much she likes hospitals and keep her on her toes ;-)

I'll play with the rotation this week and see what I can fit in and not feel guilty about whatever I miss. I tend to be a tad obsessive compulsive. :eek: }(

I started this week one of Cathe's older rotations 'The Intensity Series as a whole rotations' until the new DVDs are delivered.

So today I have Cardio & Weights on schedule this am.

Today was Tracey's HIK and Sculpting workout. 90 minutes and I was dripping. The kickbox was not that wild, but combine that with the sculpting workout and my bod is still shaking..

BTW - Kelley is announcing the end to her presale today.....}(

Good for you Phyllis,

I lost weight on my cruise, so many fresh fruits, fish and veggies I just loved it all!

I did enjoy working out on deck when we were out to sea, and then I remember doing some treadmill work, and the treadmill was set up like you were perched at the edge of the ship ( but you weren't.) It was a really wild workout that day!

Ok, I am going to do some cardio this week sooo today I did the Kickboxing premix off of Kimberly Spreen's Cardio Camp with my weighted gloves on. Hopefully this won't backfire and cause me to gain weight like it did before.

I just need a change of pace.:7

PS. Does anybody have a sure fire cure for not sleeping? I am having a lot of trouble sleeping these nights and I don't know what to do. I have tried an OTC sleep aid but if my dh is snoring even with my heavy eyes (after the aid has taken affect) I still can't fall asleep, sigh. :-( I really don't know what to do and I don't drink caffiene so that can't be the reason. Thanks.

I'm right there with you ! I really don't have any advice since I can't figure it out either.
I don't drink caffiene later in the day at all, exercise earlier in the day but am active all day, I drink a calming herbal tea at bedtime (either sleepytime, tension tamer or camomile), I have lavender in my bedroom, use a calming pillow spray, and lavender lotion .... and still I go through times like this where I do not sleep.
Last night I couldn't not believe after no sleep the night before that I couldn't sleep again but I just laid there.....! In the past two nights I have gotten less than 5 hours sleep total!!;(

I am 44 and wonder if this (along with suddenly not so regular periods) is the start of perimenopause.
If so, I wonder if that should change my approach to trying to treat it ??

Becky, I feel your pain, part of mine is I work 2nd shift on Sat. and Sundays so I get home late and go to bed late,up early on Sun for church but then stay up later to unwind on Sunday nights so I then sleep in on Mondays. But even with going to bed at 2:30 in the morning I still lie awake till 3 or later not able to fall asleep.

Once I am asleep I sleep well and could sleep all morning long if I let myself. If I have to drag out of bed then I am dead on my feet. Sat. nights I avg. 4 hours of sleep if I am lucky and that is after I lie awake for 2 hours waiting to fall asleep. Plus my dh snores so that doesn't help either. I seem to doze a lot but not really a good sleep till after my dh gets up and the sun is up, I think I should have been a vampire,LOL!! Or work nights again.

I would like to go to bed and fall asleep within a half hour or an hour of laying down, but that never happens. My dh can lay his head down on the pillow and be asleep in no time flat, what is it with men.

I am 43.5 years old and insomnia is a symptom of perimenopause and I have had other signs so that could be it also.

I have seriously thought about talking to my doctor about getting a prescription sleep aid.

Here's to a good nights' sleep.:eek: (take this as a yawn)
 
Daily Check-in

I am blessed with abundant energy this week even though I have not been getting enough sleep. I need to start getting to bed earlier, but I am delighted that my way of eating is keeping my energy consistently high all day. I credit this to intense morning Cathe workouts, eating balanced meals and power snacks every few hours, drinking plenty of spring water, and taking Emergen-C.

After my quiet time this morning, I did the Kick Max warm-up and blast challenge followed by the warm-up, standing legs, and stretch from Gym Style Legs. What a fun combination! After experimenting with both ways, I have decided that weights first is best for me on upper body days and cardio first is best for me on lower body days. Training my upper body is my least favorite thing to do, so I like getting it out of the way and having a cardio workout to look forward to as a treat. I also get more out of my lower body workouts when I warm-up with cardio first, and it is difficult to give my all to cardio after an intense workout like Gym Style Legs. After the slow motion lunges and calf raises, I am ready to rest!

I planned menus for the next 2 days and went to the grocery store after work. My meals and snacks are packed for tomorrow. I saved the first segment of Core Max for tonight. I like this as a separate workout.

It is time to call it a day. Sweet dreams!

Tammy, I am reading your book and eating more beans! I am not there yet with the veggies, but I getting there!

Becky and Annette, I started taking L-Theanine for stress relief in September and started sleeping better as a pleasant side effect! I just need to discipline myself to get in bed earlier. Thankfully, I am sleeping like a baby once I finally call it a day.
