Good Morning Everyone,

I was sore everywhere this morning. I thought I couldn't do a darn thing and wasn't up for pilates. I decided on 30 minutes of PHAT 2 Cathe Live. I got in all but the last two rounds. There are 6 in total. That is a serious sweatfest.

Henriette - I am doing my own version of EDT - I am not counting the reps. I am going heavy though e.g. 15's (30) for biceps curls and shoulders, 25's (50) for legs and chest etc... My upper body has really changed quickly. I look pretty strong and solid. I have been searching out versions of EDT e.g. upper body, lower body, cardio for 30 seconds repeat until the 15 minute block is up. I really enjoy EDT and, as a result, am loving PHAT and giant sets of Cathe.

Glad you are enjoying your classes Annette.

You are very resourceful Elsie - finding workouts, I mean. And, you are in Calgary? why did I think you were inVancouver or Calgary? What a memory I have. I know I mailed you something but have no recollection of to where I sent anything.

Linda - glad your wee dug is daein' well (I was born in Scotland :))

Have a great day everyone.

Hi gals,

Today I did 40 minutes of the Advanced Taebo #11 . Sweaty mess I am.

Got to run errands today and Taebo was the only thing that appealed to me.

Have a great day !

Great job on your Taebo Annette and on getting in some PHA Siobhan!
Yeah, I am living in cloudy Vancouver! :) Which part of Scotland were you born Siobhan?

Having a stressful day .....hope to get to some form of movement tonight!

whoa! stressful? what gives? I hope your day has been improving. I was born in Scotland, raised in Toronto, spent my twenties in Ottawa and back to Toronto by age 28. I have been to vancouver a few times - even spent six weeks out there once. it's pretty great out there. have a good evening everyone.

Hi ladies,

Unfortunately my home work from the PT was not what I had expected. No w/o for me [emoji24]

The aptmt went well, at least I think so. It was, however, extremely painful. I actually screamed out in pain. Literally! Who knew a 0.3mm needle could do that! I had been warned that I would feel some cramping and if it was to really work, a twitch/spasm... Then we would know we triggered he muscle right for sure. The massaging last time was painful, but it slowly added up and you could feel it build up. With the needle you barely feel the poke, the wiggle can be felt and then the twitch completely caught me by surprise. I cannot believe I screamed a couple of times and lay there with tears rolling down my cheeks.

I later read this article about dry needling:

www.everydayhealth.com/columns/my-health-story/dry-needling-most-painful-thing-ever-loved/

I am glad I had not read it before the appointment.

The rest of yesterday my left leg calve that had been needled felt cramped and my right that was massaged was just a little tight. I was ordered to just walk, bike home and then move normally but no workouts, not even a stroll outside for the first 24 hours.

Now it's morning and the cramping is nearly all gone. My left leg feels more relaxed and I look forward to a low impact w/o tonight.

Oh, Henriette .....so sorry you're 1st needling was very painful for you. I hope you will be glad of it in a few days. I get this in conjunction with the regular acupuncture & electro-acupuncture and while I have gotten use to it, there are a couple of spots where I twitch ouch!! There have been times when it is a bit too much (very acute inflammation). I would recommend easing into workouts like your PT has instructed. ((take care of yourself))
Wow, Siobhan, sounds like you have had much travel-moving adventure!! :) Thanks, btw. It is just not a great day. Hopefully the week will improve.
We tried watching the movie Deadpool on Netflix tonight. What a crap movie .....we turned it off. lol.

Thanks Elsie.

Hope your day improves.
Are you feeling any better now? Also, did your PT recommend compression sleeves for your shins/calves? Not now, but after workouts to help recover? I have some sprinters in the family, and they do this to prevent shin problems. Just a FYI or something to consider with your PT.

Yes, left calve feels tight but not cramped like yesterday.

No such recommendation yet. First 24 hours after needling no w/o and then I can return to my low impact stuff and weight lifting. Will ask him next week.
