DAILY CHECK IN Tuesday 26 April

A very good morning to you ladies,

Was up bright and early and after 2 small coffee and a shake I did S&H Back, upped the weights on db lat rows to 7KG (15.4 pounds). Added S&H biceps and upped the weight on the bb curls again from 13KG to 14KG (30.8 pounds) and I still wasn't working to failure. I do the db hammer curls and db bicep curls with 6KG but it didn't feel like I was working hard. Can't wait to do GS UB, see how much weight I need.

I'm also in trouble with the S&H legs I did yesterday. I'm using 20KG bb for (plie) squats, but it's not like I'm working. So have to up that too. Wonder if I can get 22KG (48 pounds) over my head? Mind you, I tend to skip the lunges cause they can bother my knee. Or I do them with no/light weight.

I've decided that I'm one of those people that don't add muscle that easily. If I can do those curls with that weight, you'd expect to see some mean biceps don't you. Wrong!! There is some definition, but that's all there is. And I can't hide behind the "too much fat" anymore, cause my fat% is down to 21% (according to my scale).

Will do a 9K fartlek this afternoon.

Well back to my text books, and you ladies enjoy your day,

Dutchie:)

Hi Dutchie,
Way to go on the weights. I have wondered the same thing myself about getting stronger and wondering where those muscles are. Mine are definitely getting defined but that are not huge or anything.I read somewhere and posted an article about a year or so ago that women first start building strength by training thier muscles to recruit more fibers for a particular lift as opposed to actually building more muscle and then they start to build but at a slow rate...up to 1lb/ very 4-6 weeks and then this rate starts to slow down after a few moths. I am lifting what is heavy for me, 25lb/dumbells for chest and a mix of 20lb and 15 lb dumbelss for curls or a 35 lb barbell etc. For leg work, I go very heavy and can't lift that weight over my head and so I have invested in a squat rack.

Last night: I got an unexpected invitation to a Master Ballet Class and took off to go to it. Worked strenuously for about 3 hours but had a blast. Don't knoe if I will have time to do anything tonight as I have to stay at work fairly late but we shall see.

Good Morning ladies:

Today is Kickboxing, MM (minus the legs) and then stretchmax.

I am studying to get ACE certified as a group instructor so I can teach step classes at my univeristy. So back to the book s before the co-workers get here.

Enjoy your workout (or rest day)!

Good Morning Dutchie, Cathy and Suzanne!

So last night for whatever reason I decided to "dust off" a Firm dvd. I did Super Cardio Sculpt (45 mins) and then the standing ankle wt exercises from L & G and added on 4 sets/15 reps of the stability ball inner thigh exercise (15 mins).

Have a good day!

I have been reading your posts through out your pregnancy with interest.
You are amazing with your workout ability at 36 weeks gestation! Your recovery from child birth has got to be be fast and fairly painless given that you are in fantastic physical condition. I am getting excited for you. Have you picked out a name or is it a secret?

I love babies, and had four myself. Sometimes I miss those younger years. My brood are 19, 17, 14, & 11. I have to say every stage of raising kids has been entertainning and fulfilling. Sorry to ramble on; I'm just happy for you.

Hi Judy!

Thank you so much. You are very sweet! :)

I have actually been surprising myself every day with my work outs! I figured I'd be slowing down A LOT more than I have by now. WOW! This is pretty cool! I guess I am in better shape than I ever thought! Woo Hoo! lol :+ :7 :+

Yes, we picked a name a long time ago...it was the EASY part! lol He is going to be Joseph Howard. After my DH's father and my father respectively.

In my DH's family it is kind of a tradition to name the baby boys after thier grandpas and I decided to use my dad's name as a rememberance of him. Sadly he passed from cancer in 1995 and he was only in his 50's. I miss him so much.

Take Care!

Good Morning Fit Women,

Yesterday was Super Sets for upper body only. Was going to do ME too, but had to do some gardenmax as well so didn't want to over do it. Once outside, glad I didn't do ME.

Today I still have much waiting for me outside so I guess I will have a cardio day then.

Have a great workout everyone!!

Good morning!!

My God I have some DOMS from my P90X Chest,Shoulders& Triceps workout yesterday!!! Talk about push-ups from hell...LOL WOW!!
This week I started the P90X 2nd rotation, my hubby said this workout was hard...was he ever right!! One handed push-ups, Plyo-clap in the air push-ups, One hand sliding push-ups, 4 count fast...then 4 count slow push-ups...WOW!! My arms were completely wasted about 1/2 through the workout!! P90X is definetly an Xtreme intense workout!!LOL

At work over the weekend my patient's husband asked me if I lifted weights..and I said "yes..why do you ask??" He said I could see your incredible arm definition when you were helping my wife with breastfeeding... I was like "Wow..Cool"..then I pulled up the left arm of my scrub shirt over my bicep and flexed.. and my patient and her husband both gasped..LOL then he asked me what gym I was working out at...the questions just kept coming...LOL!! I told him about P90X and Cathe..they both seemed interested big time.

Today is:
Cathe: GSL
P90X: Plyometrics

Have a great day Everyone!
:7

Wow..great workouts!!!

My calves are better today, so I'll attempt a 7-8 mile run, after GS Legs standing and PH & MIS Bi's, Tri's and Chest...a beautiful day here so once again my weeds are in trouble...:)...Carole

Wow! Everyone is really going to town these days. Spring must be here, and bathing suit season not far off!;)

I will do MM later. I need to get some 2.5 lb weight plates. Right now I only have 5 and 10 and it's too much of a jump to go up 10 lbs at a time. But there are some exercise I know I could go up 5 lbs on.

Good morning!

This morning I did SJP Premix #2: the step section followed by all the weight sections put together. I got some ab work in by doing the stability ball crunches from KPC, but didn't do any more because I have yet to figure out what it considered appropriate for this stage of pregnancy.

Suzanne - how was your passover dinner last weekend? I managed to avoid all of that kind of family trouble by simply moving 4000km away from them all. :) That's great that you're going for your ACE! Are you just starting the process?

Sabrina - getting up earlier to do workouts definitely requires some adjustment, but IMO it's the best time of day to do it, to ensure consistency. Keep up the good work!

Foodie Sue - I hope you regenerate soon. How was Push Pull?

Reba - the CTX series is great!

Katie - 6 hours of crying from an ear infection? That sounds so awful! I hope the antibiotics have kicked in by now and she's doing better?

Cathy - I'm guessing you don't get invited to a Master Ballet Class if you haven't got a background in ballet? Do you have a lot of dance training in your backgound?

Wendy - my MIL died of cancer in 1996, also in her 50s. It's very, very sad, isn't it? The part that I find the hardest is that she died before any of her grandchildren were born. She would have been a splendid grandmother.

Jes - what kind of girl things do you do with your MIL? Manicures, spas, massages, and shopping? Have a great day!

Denise - good on you for getting the terrific compliment! You work hard, and it obviously shows.

Shelley - for my 4 year old daughter, bathing suit season started this week. We've been having unseasonably warm weather these days, and the kids are already out in the sprinklers. She's outgrown her bathing suit from last year, and her bum shows a lot, but she doesn't want to part with it because it has Strawberry Shortcake on it. Looks like, if I want my daughter to look "decent", I'll have to find another SS suit! Oh, that bathing suit shopping for me were so easy......

Have a good day everyone!
Sandra

Hi Sandra,

It's an awful shame when good people die so young. My dad atleast knew his first 2 grandsons (my sister's firsts) who were about 1 1/2 years old and 3 months old when he died. My sister now has 4 children that never met him and now mine won't either. It's just so sad...:-(

I am so ashamed....

I have totally fallen off the wagon and can't get back on!

I was sick most of last week but I'm much better now. But I've just lost the workout momentum that I had before.

I have to say that you are all so inspiring and motivating that at least I haven't lost the desire to work out....I just have to ACT on that desire now! >sigh<

I'll get it back. Once I start again, it will be hard to stop again. I just gotta take that first step......

Angie :)

Morning Everyone,

Tonight will be Low Max. Last night I did Coremax#2 and I actually did 4 pikes on the ball. :D I was sure I would never be able to do those.

Have to find my softball glove tonight. My first game is tomorrow, and I haven't even swung a bat yet! It is slow pitch so I'm not too worried.

Have a great day!

Hi good morning. Today is KPC and the first segment of core max. Have a great day.

Mariángeles a spanish terminator junkie. :)

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but my workout today was that I did a 20 minute run!!! I have never been able to run in my life (I have a separate post about this). I am so excited!!! It was only 20 minutes, but I can't wait to try and build on it! Although I'm a little scared to see how my legs feel tomorrow.:7

I plan to do a segment of Coremax tonight!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Katie

Katie, good on you, keep running.

I ran 8.6K instead of 9K today and I ran it in 55:24min. This means that if I'd kept on running I would have run a 9K in sub-60min for the very first time. And I wasn't tired when I stopped, just had to cross a busy road.

Don't know what I've been doing right lately, but something I'm doing is sure paying off. Every run I've done in the past 10 days I'm faster than before. Even if sometimes it's just a few little seconds.

I'll go over my training log and repeat the whole thing in May. See if I can improve a little bit more :+

07:01 1K
06:24 2K
06:20 3K
06:20 4K
06:16 5K
06:34 6K (running on grass always slows me down)
06:18 7K
05:58 8K
04:13 last 600 meters

This looks so good. I even managed to do my fastest lap going uphill. My pace used to be at 07:00/K look at it now.

Am really pleased with myself, can you tell??

Dutchie:)
