Daily check in Thurs May 11

Good morning Phyllis and all that follow....

Yesterday was a great w/o.... PLB SB work only, PUB abs, and a 45 minute run with additional 10 minute w/u and c/d.... One of those good days....

Today I plan on pushmowing. They are calling for a chance of storms this afternoon so I hope they don't hit my neighborhood even though we do need the rain.

Not sure if I'll have any time to do anything else but if I do, I plan on adding on a leg floor w/o like from L&G's.

I am trying out free style for my lower body, just started this week. I should just copy Carole's w/o's each day (except for the 18 miles runs of course!!) :p

Good morning Jane, Phyllis and all to follow. We are expecting the rain to arrive here this evening. It's been 16 days since the last time it rained, so I am excited. Today is probably going to be a rest day for me. I'm scheduled to donate blood this afternoon, and was too lazy to get up early to workout. Occassionally my hemaglobin is too low to donate, so if that occurs, it's a shoulder workout for me, some abs, and about 30 min of step or kick box. Have a good, soggy day all you fitsters.

Good Morning Everyone!

Today is S&H back & biceps and I'm going to add some time on the stationary bike.

I just wrote a long, chatty post and then lost it ! :-( Don't know what I did wrong!!

Sandra, I'm sorry about your cat. Our dog died last month suddenly and I miss him so much.
Congrats on getting into your new home. I hope you have many happy years ahead in it.

It's chilly, dark and rainy here.....so I guess I'll use it as a housecleaning day. Not looking forward to it, but I'll be glad when I'm done!!

Have a great day !

Morning all!

It's grey and gloomy here, and was pouring rain, thundering and lightning when I woke up to go for my scheduled run. Needless to say, I didn't go:p I will do it later today/this evening.

Hope y'all have a happy Friday Eve!:)

Good morning all!

The rain started here last night, and boy did it pour! When I got down in the basement I found several huge puddles right in the middle of my workout area. However, I did not let the sogginess stop me, and I proceeded to do MM. That band work on the shoulders gets me every time!

To any of you who have done the butts & guts rotation - did you rearrange any of the order of the workouts? This week I was supposed to do KPC, and then PLB and MM back to back, but I didn't think my legs could handle that, so I switched things around to go MM, KPC and then PLB. Don't know if that will help or not, but why does Cathe have two weight workouts in a row? Just curious....

I am going to try and resist the temptation to bake cookies on this gloomy day, although the kids may have a thing or two to say about that.

Have a great day!

Tracy

good morning everyone :)

today i am planning on cardio kicks, but i have a nutty day, so at this point it's still just a "plan". hopefully it will happen!

Daily Check-in

I went to the club yesterday morning and jogged in the pool. I was running late and did not have time to check-in before work. My chest and biceps are sore from Supersets (48 hours later!), and I only did the VHS version with one set of everything. I lifted heavy though. Wow! I cannot imagine how I will feel when I return to the Pyramids.

I have a pink pair of petite size 12 jeans that I bought on sale at the end of last summer and really want to fit into for the first time next month when I go to visit my family. I am planning to start a CTX Series rotation Sunday morning and will have 4 weeks to drop a size. My legs need to be leaner before these jeans will fit. My bubble butt needs to be a lot smaller too! Leaner Legs and Cathe’s kickboxing workouts are very effective for me, so I am hoping that this will work. This is what I am planning to do:

Sunday - 10*10*10 (triceps)
Monday - Kickbox (biceps)
Tuesday - Leaner Legs + cardio gliding (homemade circuit)
Wednesday - Step and Intervals (chest)
Thursday - Power Circuit (back)
Friday - rest
Saturday - Leaner Legs + All Step (shoulders)

My eating is plant-based and clean. I still eat small amounts of clean (organic, free range, grain-fed) animal protein every other day but am keeping that to a minimum. If I really want to fit into my pink jeans, I need to eliminate soy. I am sensitive/allergic to it and have a tendency to bloat when I consume it. I have been experimenting with soy protein drinks this week, and I am bloated and feel miserable now. My face is swollen, and I am itching all over. My complexion has been bad for a few weeks, and it dawned on me last night that I have been eating more soy this month. Now I remember why I stopped eating soy burgers and similar products.

I want to clean up my eating a bit more. The main change I need to make is finding a substitute for my afternoon Clif Bar or Luna Bar. I like Larabars, but the ratios are not as good. I have been pondering the possibility of a smoothie with a scoop of protein powder. I am allergic to seafood, mushrooms, and MSG too. The pea protein blends that I saw have mushrooms in them. Soy protein, whey protein, and egg protein are out because I want to keep my eating as plant-based as possible. As far as I know, that leaves hemp or brown rice protein. For my purposes, I need 10-15 grams of protein. Any suggestions?

I am definitely having an allergic reaction to the soy protein powder. I am struggling to breathe, I feel drugged, and I gained 15 pounds overnight. No, that is not a typo! I have been down this road before with MSG, and there is nothing my doctor can do for me after the fact. I need to drink a lot of water today. I am too lethargic to exercise this morning. Hopefully, I will feel better after work.

Conni, I really want Push now! I have and love DanceWorks. That was my introduction to Kari earlier this year. Cathe has a link to Kari’s website under the links section of this website. I visited and was drawn to that workout. Something about DanceWorks speaks to the dreamer in me. I have Sweat Express too (which is an oldie but goodie). Sweat Express is very dated with thong leotards over white tights, but it is still a lot of fun and way more intense than DanceWorks. It is good old-fashioned floor aerobics at its best. I will add Two the Max to my wish list. DanceWorks will always be a sentimental favorite because it was my first, but Classic Cardio is fun too. I have always been a girly girl and loved to spin and twirl when I was a little girl, so I naturally love these workouts.

Sandra, I am so sorry about your cat. :-( Losing a furry friend is hard. I will keep you in my prayers.

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: Daily Check-in

Hello everyone!

Yesterday ended up being a rest day so I will do yesterday's work out this morning!

Gotta get a move on...busy day today!:)

RE: Daily Check-in

Hi ladies!
Goodness, it looks like everyone has rain. Oh well - we had tons of it yesterday and the day before and the day before.... we need to dry out a bit.

Today will be some sort of cardio, probably SB.

I've been missing all of you! Our administration at work has begun monitoring internet use, so I have to behave. Oops - I'm officially on the clock now, so I'd better go!

Have a nice day, everyone!

RE: Daily Check-in

Top o the mornin' ladies!
Heather- I am sorry you are feeling so yucky. I hope it gets better
Tracy- sorry your WO was so soggy!
Shelly-hope you get that run in tonight
Becky- hope you get all your dreaded cleaning done
Robin-the rain is on the way here too
Jane-great job with WO yesterday
Phyllis-enjoy PUB

I am planning a step, probably RS. Haven't done a step all week, so I am looking foward to it. Didn't get in any extra cardio last night because I had fire meeting, oh well, still had a good day.

Hope everyone has a "sweaty" day!

Teaching 2 Circuit Training classes later, and did chin-ups already. Will do push-ups later, too.

Hi everyone,

Heather, you have to also get Two the max. It is also a little older but the choreography is the best!

Today was Christi Solid Gold Cardio, 132 crunches and stretchmax 3.

Have a great day!

Morning Ladies,

Yesterday was Push/Pull. Loved it. I would do it everyday. Anyway, today will be Step Blast. Looking forward to a good sweat.

It is raining here too. Been raining for days and will continue through the weekend. The rain makes it harder to get going. Have great workouts.

Yeah Hannah, I know what you mean about the rain. It is gloomy here, rain coming tonight through the weekend. Mother's Day might be salvagable. Have to wait and see. So much for a picnic right?
I was going to do Rythmic Step, but you mentioned Step Blast, so I might go with that one instead.
Enjoy the step!

Morning ladies. Today was GS C&T followed by C&W. My chest is fried. Is there ANYONE (other than Cathe and her crew) who can do ALL the push ups at the beginning on their toes???

Hope everyone has a great day!

Katie

Hi everyone,

Sandra, I'm so sorry about your cat :(; however, on a more positive note I'm so excited that you are completely moved, and that you love your new place. May you and your family experience years and years of love, warmth, and happy times in your new home.

Heather, sorry to hear about your allergies. I also have a pair of size 12 capris that I would like to fit by our trip next month. Good news, they're still too tight, but now I can zip them up! (Last time I tried them I was able to button them, but the zipper wouldn't go up) Good luck to you in reaching your goals.

Katie, I did GS C&T on Monday, and finally I'm no longer suffering from DOMS! :) (In case you're wondering, I also cannot do all of the push ups on the toes. I completed 46 on the toes ... i.e. 16, 14, 12 on the toes, 10 knees, the first four of 8 on the toes, and the rest on the knees.)

Today I went on a 40 minute bike ride (also used it as an opportunity to do a little grocery shopping afterwards), and I'm about to do GS B/B/S.

Enjoy your workouts everyone!
Pamela
