Daily Check in Thurs April 6

G'morning all! I wore my Enlights for RS today. Initially, they felt great, but by the end my feet were burning. I'm thinking it may be my sox. I wear Thorlos - the lowcut ones. The shoes did feel so cushiony. It may take me awhile to get used to the higher tops. I'll try my XT's tomorrow. I have HSC on tap and that isn't as vigorous as RS. Any thoughts?

Good morning Phyllis and all to follow. I hope you get used to your shoes. I prefer a higher top for the ankle support. Today is a rest day for me. I'm off work tomarrow and won't be around here. My workout plan for tomarrow is either High Step Challenge or Advanced Training. Enjoy your day-before-TGIF.

Today the rotation calls for KPC but I had initially decided I would go to the gym for a spin class instead. They are kicking off a new routine this morning. Well, I woke up this morning just not feeling like spinning so I may just stay home and do KPC after all...

Good morning fitness buddies... I slept until almost 7 this morning, off today for my comp day, I work again this weekend.

Today I have Still Jumping, a 60 minute hi/lo workout by Christi Taylor. Haven't done this one yet. I did do Step Heaven quite a while back and just didn't take to her. I'm going to give her hi/lo a whirl.

I want to get in GS bi's and some abs today also.

Wendy- Yes I do find shoulders difficult too. In fact my rear delts haveDOMS this morning.

Jane-I hope you enjoy Christi's Hi/ Lo

Today- S&H Triceps, ME abs and CTX-Power Circuit. My calves are sore today. I imagine it is from the 6 mile run yesterday and extra jumping jacks two days ago. Extra calf stretching will be a must as the day goes on.

Carole- I only do Yoga sproadically, but am always glad when I do. I didn't make it there yesterday. Too busy.

Hi ladies -
Looks like we may get some thunderstorms today. Hopefully they won't spawn any tornadoes, because you know it is tornado season down here. The forecast didn't sound too threatening though.

Today I'm doing full body weights, and I need to really put some effort into it. I'll also do some sort of abs.
 
I received some new workouts yesterday so I'll be giving Mindy Mylrea's Interval Express a go, if I've still got some pep after that I'll try TLT Better Burn Better Buns. I love using a med ball in my workouts and both of these do so I *think* I'm looking forward to it.:) I'll report back later.

Phyllis, there's a lot of fancy foot work in RS, you really put your new shoes through their paces, hope they get more comfy fast!

Robin, enjoy your rest day!

Wendy, have a great workout whatever you decide to do, spinning or kicking your legs and heart will get a good workout.

Jane I've got Christie's Terrific Trio and find that I don't do it much but it is nice to have for a change, she sure likes spinning and turning, I find I get dizzy doing her hi/lo as is so end up modifying her routines. Let us know how you like it.

Sandra, thanks for the welcome back! That's great that you felt challenged and had fun with the CMax/LowMax mish mosh. How are your Girls doing? All 3 of mine did have chicken pox at the same time, they were 8, 6 and 3 at the time. It's funny how it manifested differently in each one. We counted spots and Elizabeth was over 300! I stopped counting Marley's at over 500 (it would have been easier to count spots that didn't have pox!), poor thing had spots in places I can't even talk about! Faith was grumpy and more fevered than her sisters but had hardly any spots. Elizabeth ended up with a pock mark on her forehead and one right at the centre of the crown of her head. Chicken pox occupied us for the entire month of May/97. Funny, I didn't even know that there was an immunization for chicken pox. I wonder if there is a pattern to the timeliness of the virus' proliferation, seems to me I hear more about kids getting it in the spring. Anyway, how are YOU doing? Seeing our kids sick is always difficult. You must be feeling pulled in different directions with the move and the new house and the kids and....life.....:)

Carole, how are you! I see you hear but our paths don't seem to cross much. I'm anxious to hear your progress with your upper body focus. I've been seeing a lot of runners in clinic lately (lots of ITB work!!), I love working with runners, they are so keen to keep going and are one of the few sectors I see that actually comply with the advise and exercises I give them.:)

Annette, lovely to hear you sounding more chipper:)

I'd better get off my butt and see what Mindy has in store for me!

Laurie - I just got my first Mindy DVD, Cardio Attack and Interval Express. You will have to let me know what you think. I did Cardio Attack and that was a riot!

Christi must be in the air today, I did Totally Cool Step for the first time in a looonnnggg time. Fun! Also did Coremax Tough Core premix.

Daily Check-in

I survived the Viper. It is tough indeed. Oh, those bicep curls from Muscle Endurance are out of this world. Cathe slays my biceps in most of her workouts! The Viper is the most intense workout on this DVD by far and my least favorite. Muscle Endurance is challenging enough without IMAX2 intervals added to the mix. Cardio and Weights is one of my happy workouts. I am not sure how I feel about Cardio and Weights mixed in with all the torture! The Gauntlet is my favorite workout on this DVD. I actually like it a lot better than Boot Camp. Of course, I did that one first. I am tired today. I might like the Viper better when I have more energy. The Terminator will be a shelf warmer in my home for another month or so. I need to work my way up to this one. I am so thankful that I have a rest day planned for tomorrow and a much lighter week ahead.

Carole, thank you for the information on protein. I am eating around 60 grams a day with no animal protein. I was eating around 100 grams a day with animal protein, so I just wanted to know how much is enough. It sounds like I am right on target. I also do well with animal protein every other day (on weight training days). I may return to that eventually, or I may add a little back on my free day. I really miss real cheese! A plant-based way of eating is definitely more cost effective. When I eat animal protein, I go for the organic variety that is very expensive.

Phyllis, I have Rykas too, but they hurt my toes halfway through my workout (I think they're too small even though I bought them a 1/2 size larger). It's a shame too because they're the best at keeping my foot stable during the workout. Good luck with yours, and enjoy HSC.

Sandra, that workout plan turned out to be too tough for me! :) How are the girls? Are you managing to find any time for yourself with your impending move?

Thanks Heather, I'm feeling pretty good now. DH sent me a photo of us taken at a Christmas party in Dec. 2004 with the caption "who are these people?" I can see a huge change, and it feels good! Yesterday I went shopping, and everything fit! :)

Last night was HSC and Kickmax blasts, and boy were my thighs, calves, and glutes burning last night! They were still sore from Monday's Bootcamp 2x, and yesterday KPC didn't help :). Today is either a rest day or the scheduled MIC and Coremax 2, or maybe I'll just do the core work I missed on Tuesday. (I just couldn't add on the stability ball segments of PLB & KPC after yesterday's workout. As it was I could barely make it downstairs to watch Amazing Race and Lost with DH.:+ )

Since it's my birthday, I'm pampering myself with a four hour spa appointment beginning at 10am (mani, pedi, swedish massage, and facial . . .yay!), so I probably don't have time for MIC this morning. However, as I will be dining out later tonight, and I hate to do that on a rest day, I think I'll do those stability ball segments now, and if I'm in the mood when I return from the spa, I'll do the scheduled workouts. Decisions, decisions. :)

I didn't have time to do video, so I squeezed in two hour long walking during breaks at work and CP course. Today, I plan to do Powerstrike 1 plus Tone It Up. Hope you have a good day!.

Phyllis, I can't help you much as I have not worn Ryka's. I buy Reebok crosstrainers on sale somewhere as I spend most of my money on running shoes!! But, I wouldn't like shoes that made my feet burn.

Robin - which do you prefer - HSTA or HSC?

Good morning everyone. I was up most of the night with a sick child, so I slept in this morning, but I am planning on doing LL later today.
Everyone keeps mentioning workout videos that I am unfamiliar with - I pretty much only use Cathe, but maybe I need to go over to Collage and check out some other options.
It seems like Mindy Mylrea (sp?) and Christi Taylor are mentioned alot - are they mainly step workouts?

Hi All;

I have both Rythym II & Enlights II but if I recall it took a few days to break them in...my insole would feel tired afterwards now when I wear them no problem like a comfy pair of sweats. I alternate them between workouts.

Today I should be doing S&H Legs but I may end up doing it after 7pm tonight or just run/jog on my treadmill again like I did last night or maybe both ;).

I have stuff to do now and I really shouldn't even be online LOL.
