Good morning,

Happy Birthday Foodie Sue!!! What are your big plans?

Mariangeles- nice workout!

I don't know if I'll get to workout today. If I do it will probably be a Christi Taylor workout. Helping my DH with a big job so I'll try to check in later if I can.

Have a great weekend, Wendy

Good morning Mariángeles and Wendy....and Foodie Sue, hope your Birthday is a wonderful one!!!

A light wokrout for me today. Power Half Hour abs. Its different as you alternate standing and floor abs, but I enjoy the variety.

Wendy, watching any games today????:+ :7 ;)

Enjoy your workouts....Carole

Good morning,

This morning I did Circuit Max followed by SH Shoulders. Yay!!! I'm done the SH series once again! I love that series, and how effective it is, but it takes up so much time that I'm always happy to be finally finished it. My triceps are still sore from Thursday; that segment always gets me good. Circuit Max is such a fun workout; one of my favs. My poor pelvic floor, however, is not dealing well with fast-paced hi/lo these days. I've had a problem with this for years, and the estrogen is making it worse. So, I had to modify a lot of the hi/lo, and I may even have to consider shelving it altogether. That's unfortunate because it is so critical to having a well-rounded cross-training routine. That was the only problem I faced with this workout; surprisingly it did not overly exert me (does that even make grammatical sense??), and I was able to do the talk test throughout. A good day, for sure!

Wendy - how are you feeling today, after some rest? Glad to see that you forced yourself to take a break last night. Very nice of Jes to create a game to keep you amused.

Laurie Mac - I know what you mean about questioning why we live in harsh climates. Edmonton is one of those cities that other Canadians scratch their heads and ask "Why??". Having lived here for 9 years, the city has lots to recommend, and I really love it, despite the cold weather. So, that's why I asked about Minnesota; there must be something to love? Some secret little treasure that the rest of the US doesn't know about? Did you have a nice evening with your daughter?

Jes - that was a very hard workout y-day!! Wow! Making up for MIC on Thursday, I guess?

Wendybdh - Your black eye story that I didn't ask you to tell me about was really funny, although no doubt painful for you. What is up with bragging about hurting someone??? She sounds like an odd duck. Enjoy Christi!

Annette - if this was all there was to how you felt in your first trimesters, then you were one fortunate lady!!! Compared to my previous two pregnancies, this is a walk in the park. I'm still waiting for the nausea and food aversions to start, but so far, nada. Even my energy levels aren't that bad - yet. I am 3 weeks gestational. DH and I haven't officially discussed it yet, but I imagine we will learn the sex of the baby prior to birth, if s/he cooperates during the ultrasounds. We did with our first child, and I liked knowing. Did you find out for any of your kids?

Susan - I am beyond impressed with your IMAX performance!! Awesome work!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! I'm curious - when you order a barbell, how is it delivered to your door? Do they just walk up to your door carrying a long metal pipe? That seems odd.

Sandy - despite growing up in a very small town with a large Portuguese community, I can't say I know any specifically Portugueses foods. Can you give some examples? Maybe I'm familiar with them, but just never realized they are based in Portuguese cuisine.

Mariángeles and Carole - enjoy your workouts!!

Have a good day,
Sandra

Good Morning, Ladies!

Mariangeles-great work out, as usual!

Wendybdh-hope you can get your work out in today!

Carole-hope you enjoy PH abs. I have that one. Haven't done it in a long long time but the standing sections used to kick my butt!

Sandra-I recently bought circuit max. Been afraid to try it though. Thought it might need TOO much modification. Shall I keep it on the shelf until post baby?

Well, today I am supposed to be focusing on lower body along with some cardio but I am wondering if that is such a wise idea...I have the 2nd day soreness in my lower body :-(. I think I will forgo the lower body and just do all cardio...maybe I'll try another CTX work out(cardio only). I really enjoyed kickbox and step and intervals so far...

Gosh, it's almost 11am and I have not even finished my 1st cup of coffee! I got up late today! 10am. I am usually up around 8 on weekends...no later than 9. See what rest days do to me? They make me completely lazy! x( lol

Have a great work out!

Oh my gosh, that's a hard question to answer. For me, the problem with CM isn't the intensity level, but simply that my stress incontinence has become more pronounced with the pregnancy, and it is generally advised to avoid any activity that causes urine leakage. So, that's why I might have to keep it on the shelf.

Since you have yet to have your baby, your pelvic floor muscles are probably in much better shape than mine, and this might not be a problem for you.

However, many people rate CM as a very high intensity workout. Given that you are typically sticking with workouts that have a slower tempo (Basic Step; Power Max), CM may be too fast for you.

A good indication of whether CM is within your workout parameters these days is to give either 10-10-10 or Power Circuit a try, from the CTX series. 10-10-10 is almost exactly a mini-version of the Circuit Max cardio; Power Circuit has similar cardio, but also includes some lower body weight work, that mimics CM's compound weight segments. The degree to which you have to modify either of these workouts is a good indication of the degree to which you would have to modify CM.

Have you ever programmed your dvd player to play only the cardio segments of Body Fusion? It gives you a 30 minute workout on par with Basic Step.

Cheers,
Sandra

Sandra, I did not know with my first but I did find out with my other 2 (all boys). I did not have morning sickness with any of them, did have a little indigestion but none of the puking or nausea like alot of women get. Hummm maybe it was a boy thing, maybe if I had had girls I might have been sicker, who knows?!?!I did workout out (not to Cathe mind you)during my pregnancies all the way to 38 weeks with my first, 30 weeks with my 2nd and only the 1st trimester with my 3rd( I was going to an aeorbics class at a church) I got tachycardia during the last pregnancy and had to quit exercise early.:( Every pregnancy was different and I carried each one differently. I hope your pregnancy continues to be uneventful. What are the sexes of your other children?:)

Today will be a rest day for me! Took middle son to tennis this morning so that kinda throws off my day!

Hope everyone has a great day!!:7

Sounds like everyone is well!

My day has been 'off' as well....

my workout will be kickbox cardio & MIC HI/LO with a nice long stretch. (Just picked up a Seane Corn yoga video, so maybe I'll do some of that)

Everyone have a great weekend:)
