Jeez, is there noone around? It's already 7:11PM overhere people.
Well, today I had a swimming lesson... I learned the breaststroke when I was about 5 or 6 yo. Most Dutch kids learn to swim at an early age. And Up till almost 6 years ago I would go swimming 2-3 times a week. Then I had a car accident and a whiplash came to stay with me and I just couldn't do the breast stroke anymore cause my neck would just hurt too much. Since then I've been trying to learn how to do the crawl stroke (is that what you call it?). But I couldn't find anyone to teach me, till two weeks ago. On a birthday party I talked to this friend of a friend about it. And oh my, she's a swimming teacher (??). Today she taught me how to do the crawl stroke.. I loved it, loved it, loved it!!! And I'm so proud of me for not sinking to the bottom. I even managed to swim a couple of laps.. I did swallow half the water in the pool though
And I most certainly wasn't the most elegant swimmer in the pool... more like a neantherthaler trying to stay afloat :7
And I was so pooped afterwards. Man, I'm a fit person, but I needed a break...And we were only in the water for like 45 minutes! If I didn't know any better, I'd swear I was sooooo out of shape.
And yesterday I ran 5K on the TM in 30:02min. I was so hoping I could run a (sub) 30min for the very first time, but alas, 2 seconds too slow. But it only means that I'm so close I can taste it
Ofcourse, running this fast on the asphalt is a whole different ball game. Oh, and i did S&H legs afterwards.
Anyways, I like the variety I'm having right now, running, spinning and now I can go swimming again. I promised the teacher I would practice every Saturday. So now you know what I'll be doing every Saturday afternoon
If I get to be any good, I may do a mini-triathlon. What do you think? Don't tell me, I know... you need a lot of practice my dear?!
Have a great w/o and a wonderful Saturday.
