Daily Check-In - March 24/06

Morning all!

Well, I didn't get a workout in last night, because it took me two *#%*#%* hours to get home from work, which made everything else late and then I had to drive to Buffalo to pick Lunacat (Becky) up at the airport:)

I'm not sure what we're doing today. It will have to be something that uses no step and likely no weights, so that would leave kickboxing:)

I have kickboxing on my schedule for today too and triceps. I will be doing Cardio Kicks and PS triceps.

I have GS shoulders, 30 mins cardio, my mini-leg routine that I opted out of yesterday and abs work to do this morning. Tonight I go to the gym for that fitness evaluation thingy.

Tammy - Hmmm - I did IMax earlier this week that's a great one for the fun factor.

Yesterday was tough. My son had another grand mal seizure. He recovered very quickly (no ER this time) and thinks he may have been able to identify an aura. That's huge because it's a warning sign and then he could get himself in a safe place. I figure since it's something he needs to deal with we don't want the ER everytime. The dr is going to try a new med but it takes Months to get just right.
The fact he was coherent right after it ended and up and walking around within 20-25 is a huge relief. He had to miss the funeral of the classmate so that was tough. Anyhow we are doing well but please send us extra good vibes, prayers if you can.

I figure this was my rest week so tonights workout will be light. My plan is to come back next week and join all of you fine women on a regular basis again.

Robyn: I must have missed this somewhere, but does your son have epilepsy or are his seizures caused by something else? Either way, that must be tough on him AND you. I wish you all the best and you have all my extra good vibes:)

Daily Check-in

Happy Friday! I did the third segment of Total Body Stretching last night. The second segment is my favorite right now, but I enjoyed this one a lot too. I really like the gentle rocking motion on the stability ball.

I woke up this morning very aware that I did Pyramid Upper Body yesterday morning. I decided to listen to my body and rest instead of working out. I am extremely tired this morning after a stressful week at work. Not to mention, my chest and biceps are very sore. It hurts to lift my arms over my head. :eek: I do not think I could wrestle my way into my sports bra even if I had the energy to exercise this morning! Pyramid Upper Body makes me sore like no other workout I know.

Robyn, I will keep your son in my prayers. What is his name?

Sandra...I started at the beginning with Pilates, so it was an introductory workout yesterday learning breathing and a few moves. I know I'll like it and plan to do Pilates or Yoga once a week during my current rotation..:)

Today was SS Tone it UP. I am starting to get into the light weight thing again. I think I may have to incorporate more of these into my rotations, they just feel good!

This morning I did PH legs/glutes and an hour of interval on the bike.

Robyn-I'm praying for your son. My MIL just was released from the hospital yesterday. She had fallen and lost conciousness while shopping and they said it was a seizure. She's in her 80's and also has Parkinson's , so it's been a rough few years for her.

Morning ladies. Today was my rest day. I woke up around 3:30 and seriously had to talk myself out of getting up and working out. I've gotten to a point where I hate my rest day. I feel like I drag all day. I really only take one because I know I should for my body to recover, and I can tell it's tired. I was looking forward to my rest day yesterday, but this morning all I wanted to do was get up and do an IMAX! Does anyone else do this?

Robyn, I'm sending positive vibes and many prayers to your son. On the positive side, it's great that he was coherent so soon after a grand mal seizure. My dad wasn't coherent for hours after his last grand mal, and it took a year to get the meds right and for him to regain medical authorization to drive. Given the recent tragedy your son has been dealing with, has it affected his sleep as well as his stress levels? Good luck with the meds. My dad's current meds work so well he hasn't even had any petit mals in two years. Take care.

Carole, my sister's been after me to try pilates. She swears it'll help strengthen my weak core. How do you like it? (I suppose I should listen to her since she introduced me to Cathe. ;))

Wendy, I'm the same way. I will feel so much better once the house is clean and back under control. What kind of fitness thingy are you doing at the gym?

Sandra, I know you'll be busy with your move, but are you planning on doing another rotation when this one finishes on Sunday? I've really enjoyed do this rotation with you. I've been thinking about the September '05 Butts & Gutts or the Jan. '06 rotation both with P90X substitutions during the week I'm out of the country. What do you think? I know I won't fit my outfit in two weeks (I can close the pants now, but it's still way too tight. :)), but we're going to a wedding in the Caribbean in June, and I would love to wear a tank top so I'm looking for fat burning rotations. :D


My son has conjunctivitis ("pinkeye") so he's home with mommy today. Today is KM leg conditioning drills, 10 min ab hits, and 20 min run. Since my little guy is here, I'm going to start with "cleanmax" and then do my scheduled workout during his nap.

My goodness, am I late this morning. I hope everyone has a very nice Friday!

I didn't work out last night - I think some nasty germs have been trying to make me sick the past few days, and yesterday was the worst. But they gave up and decided I wasn't worth it. So FINALLY today will be Imax 1!

Sandra, wherever you are, I am READY for those 6 zillion plyojacks or whatever!

Got go hop. Too much yucky work to do today.

Okay, this morning I had another Kick butt workout. I did Imax 2 and I simply loveeeee this workout. Especially, after the warm up, when the music really kicks in during the first step routine. Man, I get soooooo pumped, Okay now, calm down......calm down.........:9

This morning, me did Imax 2 & abs (planks) I had tons of energy. Tonight, I’m doing GS BS&B. I got major DOMS last night from GS C&T ooo we! I’m feeling it today and it feels so nice :7

So have you begun to gain back control of your house yet? ;)

I have to go to the gym tonight to get the new member evaluation where they weigh, measure you...talk about goals...show you how to work the equipment and then work up a routine for you to follow that in thier estimation should put you on the right path towards reaching your goal(s). I have been a member for a week and a half...

I actually got a call last night that I also get a 15 minute health evaluation by an on-site dr which I am scheduled for next thursday evening. I wonder what THAT will turn up? lol
 
Robyn, I hope the doctor is able to regulate your son's medicine soon to control his seizures. I can't imagine how stressful this is for you and him.

I just finished Cardio Kicks and PS triceps. Cardio Kicks is a real blast! It is a fun fun workout!

I am really feeling my abs today after MTV Pilates Mix last night. That is one tough core workout!!! I highly recommend this workout, it is exceptional.
