Daily Check In: January 7, 2005

FiddleFit

Cathlete
Good morning, daily check-in group!

I did Step Blast this morning, followed by ME abs. As usual, a terrifically fun workout! SB and CW are my two favourite warm ups.

I'm a bit surprised I'm the first one to post today. I've got to go eat something before I pass out, but I'll be back later to see what everyone else has been up to, and chat a bit more.

Ruth - I read your saga yesterday! Oh my god!! What a big, fat, pain in the a$$ for you and your hubby. I would want to strangle the person who is caused you all this trouble. I hope you were able to enjoy your anniversary dinner, at least.

Cheers,
Sandra

Hey Sandra! i was waiting to see if all of you posted on that other thread or started our usual......i am up alot earlier than usual this morning b/c of the phonecall i got......x(

i was planning on sleeping in so that i wouldn't have to be impatient all day waiting fot KPC. i haven't decided for sure, but i think i will do KPC today and L/G tomorrow, b/c if i were to do the opposite, i have a feeling my legs would be too sore to do any kicking...

happy sweating ladies!

Good Morning,

I will be doing SH Triceps and Step Fit today.

I finished the drapes for the living room. Now I have to get ready to have DH's parents, his brother & SIL, and his Uncle and Aunt over for Brunch on Saturday.:) They are coming over to see our Christmas decorations. After that we can start taking all of it down. Quite a task, since I have collected over 100 Santa's. :) (My oldest DD counted :7, of course this included the ones on the tree.)

Have a great day!
Laurie Mac

I woke up not feeling too well this morning, so I took today off from working out. I feel so guilty now because I didn't do anything. I was planning to do IMAX 2 this morning, so now I have to wait and do it tomorrow. I think what is most aggravating is that I feel fine now.
I was watching FitTV this morning and SJP was on. I really think I need to get that DVD! It looked like so much fun, but I didn't see any step work (I only saw the first half). They must cut it out on FitTV or something.

Hope everyone else has a great workout.

Katie

Good morning Sandra

Laurie Mac...you still have your Christmas decorations up? I'm one of those who take them down asap (like the day after Christmas;-) )

Katie...ooooh, I hate when that happens...why don't you squeeze it in tonight?

Today I'm doing CTX Kickbox and All Step (cardio only) w/ abs

i just finished abs from BC premix and C&W while waiting on UPS.....i'm no good at waiting....can you tell??? anyway...OUCH! i don't know how ya'll manage these ab marathon things! those two segments were ENOUGH for me. Phew!

jes

Good morning again,

I really should get some work done, but you guys are irresistable! :)

Laurie Mac - that is quite Christmas decorating you do!! Wow!! Between you and Jes, how do the stores carry enough Christmas supplies for the rest of us? I'm another one who takes the decorations down the day after Christmas. We always get a real tree, and it's just looking so shabby by then that I can't stand it. And all the Christmas cards that we recieve and put on display glare mockingly at me, or maybe that's just guilt because I never get around to sending cards out to all these thoughtful people.

Katie - oh, too bad about skipping the workout! It's very hard to determine in the mornings whether you are truly too pooped to workout, or just a little off. My policy is to start my planned workout no matter how I feel (terrible or terrific), and then decide whether I've truly got what it takes to finish it or not. I always give myself permission to quit a workout or modify, but I refuse to let myself not try. The only expectation I have of myself everyday is simply to start a workout; finishing is another story. What always surprises me is that the days where I have the lowest energy seem to be the days that I have the best workouts; it's a bit bizarre, but at least I've managed to figure that out, so I'm not too worried when I wake up feeling like I've been hit by a truck. It usually means a good workout is coming up!

Jes - Excellent ab work!! Hey, didn't anyone tell you that KPC fries the core? And the core work she tacks on at the end is delicious. Have you got a stability ball yet?

I was very pleased to learn this morning that I didn't gain an ounce over the holidays. Given how I ate between Christmas and New Years, I was quite surprised at this outcome. I'm really happy with myself, though, because it means that I was able to indulge without going to excess, and that is a new skill for me.

Where's Kingston Laurie these days? If you're reading these posts, Laurie, I miss your input, but hope that it's only good things keeping you from us.

Cheers y'all!
Sandra

Hi everybody!

Yesterday I had planned L&G plus some cardio and the abs from PUB which I'd had to omit the day before. I made the strategic mistake of choosing MIC step for my cardio and choosing to do it first. (I prefer to do my cardio first.) I say "mistake" because (a) I had forgotten how brutal MIC is and (b) idiot me did the whole thing, not just the warmup and step. Once I did the warmup I just sailed right into the hi/lo (where my brain was at that juncture, who knows). It just about finished me off. I don't like hi/lo, don't do it and therefore my legs, feet and aerobic/anaerobic threshold are not acclimated to it, so I honestly have no idea why I even started on that section of MIC. But after some starts and stops (picture me gasping for air while I stretched my shins, calves and hip flexors for 30 seconds) I completed the hi/lo -- I'm stubborn and once I started it I had to finish it -- and then after a little pause I did the step straight through. And at that point I had sucked up all my workout time. So yesterday ended up being MIC only.

So -- this morning I tackled all my "make-up" work. Banner workout today for me, and I'm feeling accomplished. I substituted Rhythmic Step for Step Blast and then I did the abs-only from PUB. Took a little break for water and then did L&G }( . Ouch.

My hindquarters and legs are really mad at me right now and I'm sure will hate me tomorrow, but they'll love me real soon. ;-)

Good Afternoon, Ladies!

I think I'm going to do something a little different today...I want to try doing Basic Step and Body Fusion(step portion only) in one work out. I can make it through a full hour of step as I have done Power Max so I should be able to do this. :)

Enjoy your work outs!

~Wendy~

We don't stop laughing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop laughing...Put more laughter into your life.

I will be doing my NordicTrack for 45 minutes then Pilates for about 40 minutes. Yesterday I did Bodymax plus shoveled for about 1 1/2 hours! Susanz

Hi, all, I didn't make it too far into my workout this afternoon. I was going to do KPC the whole thing, but about 15-20 min. in I started getting real crampy (the painful kind that jumping just made worse) so I went to the bathroom but that didn't help so I ended up quitting. I ate something before working out and normally I don't do that but I was hungry since it was a lunchtime workout and I hadn't eaten much before then. So maybe eating and then working out did not agree with me. All I know is I am in pain and am hoping that is subsides soon.:(

Tomorrow my middle son has tennis so I don't know when I will get my workout in, but I hope I do.

:)

Ok, I think I placed my w/o on the wrong thread. But nonetheless.

Finally got to do MIC for the first time . It was todays rotation. WHEW!!!!! I was only able to do 25 mins of it b/c my ankles starting aching . Then I did 20 mins of the Step portion, following that was 3 sets 15 reps of sissy squats.

That was enough for me. Until next time.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Hi everyone,

Today I did some pilates and BC Core only premix. Hey Jes don't you love that core premix?

Sandra- I just got done telling you that I rarely do premixes and I've done 2 this week! Didn't mean to lie but gee whiz you all keep talking about all these premixes and I guess I may be giving in!x( :)

Katie and Annette- hope you're feeling better soon.

Laurie Mac- I collect Santas too but I don't have nearly as many as you. You must have a large home.

Kathie- way to push through MIC. I must admit it sounds strange when you said you "did MIC only" how can you ONLY do MIC-it's a killer:)

Susanz- HOLY COW- Body Max and shoveling! WOW-major calorie burn there!

Talk to you all soon,
Wendy

You guys kill me, you are so fun! I am also being naughty and doing this at work....

Today was my rest day, but I'm gearing up because Mr. UPS left me MIS+ and MIC+ DVDs last night! Think I'll do a cardio tomorrow (BUT WHICH ONE?) and a weights on Sunday (BUT WHICH ONE?). Such a wonderful delimma! With all the talk of MIC, think I might have to try that one, but then there's IMAX...

Have a lovely weekend!

Susan

Susan,

For highest fun factor, do RS and PH!!! PH is more than just fun; it's hard! RS isn't so much a cardio challenge, as a choreography challenge. If you want something like Step Blast, then do RS. If you want an out of body experience, do MIC or IMAX.

BodyMax offers a bit of both. That's one heck of a workout!

You are a lucky woman! Enjoy!
Sandra

Hi Mariángeles,

I saw your check in thread this morning, but you titled it "January Rotation", so I presumed it was the ongoing thread for those doing Cathe's Jan/05 rotation. That's why I specifically called this one the "Daily Check In", to help alleviate some of the confusion that seems to be occurring this month. Apparently, it didn't work! Oh well, at least a lot of people are posting check-ins and chatting away. If all these exercising people were to harness their energy output, we could probably solve the world's energy problems.

Sandra

Hi Sandra,

Just wanted to say thanks for your good wishes...we appreciate it. It's been kind of a nightmare even though I'm well aware it could have been a lot worse. (Not to mention that compared to other problems, it would mean absolutely nothing.) But yes, it is a pain in the a$$! Stress!! Can't get away from it!! x(

Today I did SB & K.V. abs...I'm planning to do another step right about now!

Take care & thanks again Sandra,
Ruth:)
