Wow, I've never been first. I am only b/c I'm home with my 4 year old who has strep. She is on the mend-yesterday was rough. Today is supposed to be my rest day, but I may take advantage of having a little extra time and do IMAX for the first time!

Tomorrow is my birthday, so I guess a rest day would be good for that. I have a massage and facial in the afternoon and dinner and a lovely place with my dh in the evening. Now if that year that I'll be ringing in wasn't so disturbing to me (38), it would be a perfect day!

Good workouts ladies, I'll let you know if I do IMAX or save it for tomorrow--it might actually be a nice BD present!}(

Susan

Hi Susan I am the second. What IMAX are ypu going to do? I hope you will have a happy birtday day tomorrow. Have a great weekend everybody.

Mariángeles a spanish terminator junkie.. :) :)

Good morning Susan, Mariangeles and everyone else,

This morning was All Step. I really like the ab section in this workout. I don't know why I don't do it more often.

Susan-I hope your daughter is feeling better soon. Have fun with IMAX and have fun with those power scissors}( Oh, and happy early birthday in case I forget to say it tomorrow.

Annette-Happy late anniversary-What did you do, anything fun?:)

Jes and Sandy- How do you feel today? Much better I hope.

Is it just me or does it seem like a lot of us haven't felt that great lately?

Off to work....
Wendy

Good morning to everone and Happy Birthday to Susan!

Today is my rest day. Having a couple of friends down. We will be going out for dinner and then coming back to my house to hang out. DH has plans this evening so it's the perfect time to fill the house with estrogen! lol

Weather here is misery. Warm but raining like crazy and windy...temps gonna drop all day too....was almost 70 at about 5:30am and dropping consistently thru the day until it reaches the 20s by some time tonight! OUCH! I'm in NJ, by the way.

Have a great work out!

Good morning all,

TOday is PUB because I don't have CTX yet.

Foodie Sue, Happy Birthday!! Hope you have a wonderful day in case I don't post tomorrow.

Wendybdh, I feel much better, thanks! Although there are still foods a week later that make me feel nauseus!

Wendy, OMG it took me 1 1/2 hrs to get to work today! The weather was super nasty and half the time I was struggling to keep my car in the lane I was driving in because the wind was gusting that much...aughh!! I wanted a mimosa as soon as I got to work}( !!

Carole, wow 45!! Fifteen year olds should be half as fit as you are:) :D

Have a great Friday:7

Hey Ladies!

Suzanne: Happy Bday! i would take off tomorrow if i were you ! who wants to ruin the relaxation afa facial and massage with Imax?! Do it today. i hope your little one gets better soon. i used to get strep avery 2 months when i was little....it sucks! x(

Carole: got your email. thanks;-) hope you enjoyed your massage.

Wendy: have fun with your friends!

Sandy: Hey chica! glad you are feeling better. our weather is finally where i want it to be....in the 30-40's. it won't last, but i got all the windows open so i can savor it while it's here. :9 BTW, i am going to tape today and paint manana. I am hoping it is not the same experience that i had last year. i painted our family room, kitchen/dining area, both foyers and the hall(22 hrs over 2 day span). I thought my damn arms were going to fall off and my feet killed me. BUT, that was before Cathe and i am hoping that some of my strength training has paid off and i will be able to hold my arm above my head for 8 hrs and be ok.....ya think?:*

Today for me is Imax2 and ME and probably some pilates. do you have a favorite pilates video anyone? Mari Winsor is on my last nerve!!! Anyone done the Crunch Candlelit one?

Well, i got my coffee down, i'm off to the races. thanks for all "hope you fell better"s !! ya'll are great!

Good morning! This morning I did MegaStepBlast on the 8" step, followed by SH Biceps & abs. I had to dust off MSB because it's been so long since I've done it, I'd forgotten what it was actually like. On the 8" step I got a great workout; sweated, got my heartrate up, but not too high. The choreography in this one is super simple, and the beat is a bit slower. There are impact/power moves, but they are alternated frequently with low impact moves. I think this is the perfect workout for someone who has mastered Basic Step/ Body Fusion, and wants something longer and a *bit* more intense, but not advanced choreography. It's also perfect for someone who is pregnant :) Next week I'll have to dust off Step Heat, because I can't remember what those combos are like, other than I think they are also very simple choreography, with a slower beat.

Pg update: feeling very fine. If it weren't for the fact that I become breathless quicker, my lower abdomen is bloated, and my lower back is tired, I would never think I was pregnant. Maybe I'll get as lucky as Wendymin72, and avoid major morning sickness and food aversions. A woman can dream.......

Laurie Mac - Hm. Wisconsin, hey? Someone around these forums lives in Saskatchewan, and I thought it might be you. I wonder who it is? Oh well. Please tell me, what is wonderful about living in Wisconsin? And the next time you do SH Legs, I expect you to report back that you had to crawl out of the room when you were done :)

Wendybdh - I'm not asking about the black eye. Really. I'm not. Ho hummmmmmmmm.......(what to talk about...what to talk about?)

Annette - lovely surprise!! Very thoughtful of your husband.

Carole - I think I'll be building my own weightlifting belt in a few more months. Or weeks, if how much my lower abdomen is bloating is anything to go by. That's some impressive weight you use for SH Legs - especially when you follow it up with 12 mile runs!! I always put it after my cardio, and do my best to work to exhaustion. If I had to do strenuous cardio afterwards, I know I would be more conservative in my efforts.

Jes - how's that head today? Did you keep your nose above water? You deserve a pat on the back for attempting a workout, but you also did the right thing by quitting. The idea is to improve your health, not kill yourself.

Conni - belated happy anniversary!

Susan - Agh!!! Before I had my first child, it never dawned on me what the impact of child germs would be for my own work and exercise schedule. I had to learn to roll with the punches, because there just wasn't anything else to do. When littles ones get sick, they really get sick. I'm sure she feels awful, and I hope she gets better soon. I also hope the 2 year old doesn't pick up the germs!! Enjoy IMAX! I will not be attempting that workout, so feel rest assured that *whatever* level of modification you have to do, you are still working harder than a pregnant woman!

Katie - Is today your birthday? If so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! (if not, please reread this on the appropriate day :) Has the elephant gone back to the jungle?

Kathy!!! How is your ankle and tailbone this morning??? That was a nasty fall!! BTW, I'm very impressed at your ab marathon!

Sandy - so how do you feel today? That must have been some nasty bug to still be affecting you. Yes, I am now enthralled with the mimosa. All your fault. I think I am going to host a brunch for a couple of other friend-couples in February. Mimosas will be on the menu. I was wondering whether you'd received CTX yet. Have you ordered it yet? And did your 1 1/2 hour commute involve listening to the IS CD twice through?

Wendymin72 - LL AND Upper Body Split??? Oh my goodness!! That's quite a workout! And I'm not surprised you left out some of the upper body work! It's an extremely thorough series of exercises, isn't it? I got a body pillow when pregnant with daughter #1, and haven't given it up since. It's actually become a ratty pillow by now, and needs replacing. It makes sleeping so comfortable that I can't sleep without it anymore. I grew up in a Middlesex County, in Ontario, Canada. I wonder where the name came from? Was there a Lord Middlesex, or something like that?

Have a good day!
Sandra

Hi Jes!

Well you are sounding like your old self again....glad to see it:D !! Um I would love to see you hold your arms over your head for 8 hours, LOL!! I'm not sure even Cathe can help you do that:p I can't believe you did all that in 22 hours?? Well I was just going to ask again if you were crazy until I realized who I was asking...oh boy go figure:p }( !! Well if you want the cooler weather just fly in to NJ by tonight the damn temp. is supposed to plummet from balmy 66 to mid-30s...ughhh, you want it you can have it sisterx( !!

I have a pilates tape I really like but for the life of me can't remember the name....I will let you know later as I owe you an email anyway! Yes I agree, Mari Windsor gets on my very last nerve too!

I'm doing PUB today (don't own CTX) and I'm going to try Stott Pilates Core Challenge, too -- just bought it. I hope it's good -- I'll let you know. :)

Have a great day!

Hi Sandra!

I am feeling much better thanks!! I actually had my first full dinner last night and I think I owe it all to Cathe...after her workouts my appetite came back full force like a run away train, lol!!

Oh boy looks like I created a monster with mimosas, hee hee! Bellinis are just as good;-) !! Remember when Jes and I come up to visit you and vacuum everything in sight, I will making up a nice fresh batch:p

By the way I also live in Middlesex County ...boy that Lord Middlesex must have really gotten around}( :7 :) !!

Sandra-

Yeah, last night's work out was pretty intense but I was careful not to over-do it on the weight for Upper Body Split! Surprisingly though, I am not even sore today. I really thought that I would be....I left out the chest work while awaiting the arrival of the stability ball I ordered yesterday. Once that arrives I will start doing all of the exercises I have been missing due to not being able to do the work in a flat back position.

Take Care!

Have a great work out!

~Wendy~

Ruh roooooohhh! The only thing worse that Day After Muscle Soreness is........TWO Day After Muscle Soreness! I hope you don't get a nasty surprise tomorrow :)

Um, you have the Step, obviously? I make an incline bench with the Step by taking the risers from the bottom of one side, and stacking them up on the other side. Cathe does this in her older weight videos. Check out the Pure Strength: Chest pictures on her homepage if you want to see what I mean. Cathe uses 4 risers for her step in that video, but if you only have 2 risers you could still do it; just put the two risers on one end, and have the other end on the floor. The Step is surprisingly stable in this position.

Cheers,
Sandra

Excellent news, Sandy! I hope your workout goes better today, as a result.

What is in a Bellini?

My living room is waiting to be vaccuumed as we speak. I always hold off on putting my living room back to normal after my Friday workouts, because I vaccuum and dust it first. So, everything is all set up. Just waiting.......ho hum.

Lord Middlesex was obviously a tyrannical overlord intent on taking over the world. A nasty fellow, I've concluded.

Sandra

Oh, that's too bad it didn't work for you, Wendy. That stability ball will serve you especially well when you get the BB Series. She does a lot of weight work (including chest) on the stability ball instead of the step in both Push Pull and Supersets; you would hardly have to modify.

Sandra

Hello Everyone,

What a great day! It's Friday, oldest DD is going to be spending the night at her friends. So it will just be me and youngest DD tonight. We will have to do something special. :)

I will be doing PS Legs & a run on my treadmill.

Sandra, as of today I don't know why I live in Wisconsin. -1 Deg F when I woke up this morning. -18 for a wind chill. Really it is because my DH is well paid for what he does. }( TV Engineer. MSB was the first Cathe I did. It has a special place in my heart. And yes I will report the weight for SH Legs, and those steps up from the basement will probably take and hour to climb back up. x(

Sandy, I just made mimosas for the brunch I had last weekend. Yum Yum. My house could use a good vacuum too! :7

Susan, Hope your little one gets better soon. And have a Happy B'Day tomorrow.

Carole, Once I get past Sandra's weight for SH Legs I will set my goal for yours! Wow!

I have to get back to work.

Have a great day!

Hey all! i finished Imax2 and added the blasts only from SB and tossed the idea of ME and did the SJP weights add on instead and then abs. Damn! }( Mimosas sound fabulous, but i will Confess(did you hear that Sandra?) that mine are mostly champagne and very little Oj. i know you are all shocked. :9

Sandy: your weather sounds like mine. it was high 70's yesterday and now in the 40's. we had this gross rain too. i used to love rain, but ever since i got Bella, rain is a terrible thing. she plays in it and rolls around in the mud and drags all her toys out and they get wet and nasty and she is filthy. so i have to bathe her several times/day when it rains. x( she is a nut!! right now, they are both cold, so they are laying in a pile and look like they collapsed playing twister. too cute. how is Tj doing?

Sandra: head is a-o-k. thanks!

good workouts every one!!

jes

Sandra.......you may have to wait a little as it takes a few hours to cross the country by plane and with the zany weather we can expect some delays as well soooo, if I were you I would go and try to get a good head start}( }( !! BTW, bellinis are champagne and peach juice...so the only difference between the two are the juice you add to the champagne.

LaurieMac...Yes they are quite tasty..mmmmm, good:+ :7 !! Well I will have to check with my partner in crime, Jes, and will get back to you regarding availability, LOL!! A hint, living in a warmer part of the country will get us there quicker!!

Jes...bella is a nut? Hmmm, I see she may be a chip off the old block:p :p!! You put more champagne than OJ in your mimosas????? Oh dear I think I am about to swoon from the shock}( :p !! You know although TJ is really not taking his vitamins all that well, he seems to have stopped grooming himself so much, must be the anti-inflammatory shot the dr. gave him!! He's zipping around like a maniac, nothing slows down my little destroyer:7 :) !

Sandra,
I'm so glad you didn't ask me about my eye;-) But just so your not curious I'll tell you. I dove for a ball at the same time that another woman went for it. She flew up into the air and came down and landed right on my face. I think her bony tailbone got me right in the eye (I'm sure it was quite the sight). It was even as if the woman was happy about it cause for the rest of the night she kept saying "Boy, I sat on Wendy's face did you see that I sat on Wendy's face"--Hello!-Someone please tell me who would be proud of that? I have no clue. All I know is that I was trying to put on my makeup this morning and it still hurts. x( ;(

Yet another reason why I get my exercise on my own. Being around other people is just too dangerous!:)

Anyway, Sandra thanks for not asking
Wendy
