Daily Check-in - Feb 4/06

Good morning all!

Happy Saturday! We have a winter storm warning in effect here, so it looks like my runs this weekend may turn into something indoors, as I don't have a treadmill or even access to one.

Yesterday I ended up taking a rest day of sorts, as I was just too tired to workout or run last night. I did do biceps (some on my own and the concentration and wrist curls from GS BSB). I still count that as a rest day though:p

Today is Rhythmic Step, core work and triceps.

Good Morning Shelley and All who Follow!!

Today on the Feb. rotation for me is short cardio. Imax3 w/p & first 3 intervals, blast section only of KM (which I will be subbing since I don't have KM) high jog for 45 seconds , then stretch !

We are also expecting snow, but right now it's raining. Gloomy start to the weekend.

I love Rhythmic Step! Have fun with it Shelley!!

Hi Shelly and Becky and all that follow

I took yesterday off. In fact I worked from home and didn't get out of my flannel PJs until 3. I feel better today. This week made me realize I've got some very supportive caring guy friends in my life. Never can have too many. Seriously though I was bumming about the drinks/ that became a date/but then oh no shouldn't have been date - can we switch back into friends - and 4 of my guy friends were - "his loss". Even my brother said I handled it great. Only my closest guy friend (the one going through the divorce) was a jerk about it - grrr.
Feeling better about the job that I am not going the next round on. I've got an open door from HR and the dept VP so when the timing is right. I got a sofa, chair, and ottoman delivered last night - next week I meet with the kitchen designer.

Not sure what today will be. I'm thinking of a CTX rotation. I'll post later.

Pamela...that is great about the new running shoes!! Sounds like you havd a very nice run/walk. I can see why you would have wanted to after the cake...:)..aren't we funny that way.

Tammy...isn't Core Syn humbling...:)...I start laughng though thru the superman/banana rolls when Tony goes faster...:)

Annette...are those Billy workouts new? Sounds like you had a good workout!

Wendy...its probably good that you stopped doing Imax3 with the knee ache...I think you did a great sub anyway...:)

Shelley...I bet you get some nasty storms there. I am fairly lucky in Cal as the weather rarely gets bad enough not to run outdoors...if it does, I use my Nordic track...:)

Robyn...nice to get some new furniture..:)...Are you going to redo your kitchen too? Sounded to me like you handled that guy friend well....and guys say WE are hard to figure out!!

I didn't sleep real great last night. My neighbors little dog spent the night and she likes to cuddle against your head sometimes!!! She is quite cute...:)...so I am going to do KPC, AbRipperX and some freestyle leg work...

Morning ladies! Today was IMAX 2. I am very happy to say that I made it through the entire workout with no additional rests. It's been awhile since I've been able to do that.:-( No more 2 month breaks from working out for me. It's too frustrating to not be able to do the workouts anymore that used to be no problem. I haven't even attempted MIC yet and that used to be one of my favorites. Maybe in a week or two.

Sorry, I kind of went off on a little tangent there.:)

Hope everyone has a great day. DH and I are going to the Phoenix Open golf tournament (I think it's called the FBR Open now, or something like that) and then we are going to the Ritz-Carlton for dinner tonight to celebrate my belated Birthday (since I was sick for mine).

I am thinking about doing Kick Max today. I bought the boxer wraps and there's a part of me who is eager to use them. I am doing an advanced yoga class this afternoon. My right achilles tendon is painful but I had a wonderful workout weeks and it's not used to that any more. Have a beautiful day and enjoy your work or your rest. Shelley, I wish you were here. We've had no rain in over a hundred days which is not a good thing but the temps are mild and it's perfect running weather. I would love to go on a run with you!

Good morning!

Last night I did KickMax. I like that workout more and more each time I do it. Probably because I get better at it :) And those conditioning drills always leave my back and hips feeling so good.

Tonight I'm going to try something I thought of a couple years ago, but have never done. I'm going to do the first 4 premixes on HSTA as one long workout. It goes: warm up; cardio blasts; cardio and lower body work; cardio and upper body work; stretch.

Shelley - good workout you have planned for today.

Becky - that's short cardio, but very intense!

Robyn - I look forward to hearing which CTX you chose. My favourite of that series is All Step (followed closely by Step & Intervals).

Carole - that's so sweet about the neighbour's dog sleeping by your head. My cat likes to sleep by my head most nights, but first she likes to "knead" my hair for a few minutes. It's like getting a scalp massage. When her claws have been trimmed, I quite like it.

Katie - congratulations on making it through IMAX2!! It's amazing how fast you can get your conditioning back, once you start being consistent again. That's a great feeling! Belated happy birthday to you!

Bobbi - the yoga sounds terrific. Have a great workout. I hope the KickMax blasts don't aggravate your achilles tendon.

Lisa - I really like LIS. Enjoy!

Hi, Snadra! I decided to dust off Cardio Kicks. It was so much fun. The achilles is warmed up and settled down. I have to remember to stretch my tight calves. Maybe I will get a cortisone shot. I wonder if I should see my podiatrist. she warned me my right foot might go the way of the left. So far the arch hasn't collapsed but these niggling overuse injuries are no fun. They are normal for me and I have taken to minimizing high impact. Kickboxing is amazingly intense even while keeping the feet grounded. I love the work for the shoulders and I am devoitng myself to trying to get some muscle. I'm such an ectomorph. Have a beautiful day, everyone! :)

Hey ladies.

I did IMAX EX at 7am sharp! What a work out to do that early in the morning! YIKES! :eek: I loved it though!}( I had only done it one time prior to today (a few months ago) and I must say, my cardio endurance has improved greatly since then!:+ :7 :+

I got through week 1 and tomorrow is FINALLY a rest day! YEAY!:+

Too bad I couldn't do IMAX 3 last night...I might just have to tack it on at the end!}( }( }(

I just finished the short cardio day on the Feb. rotation.
Imax3 1-3 intervals, the blasts from LM (I don't have KM) , 45 seconds of high jog. It was SHORT, but it was tough! I was a sweaty mess when it was done!!!:eek: :p }(

I'm late today...sometimes I can't get out of my own way!

Today I did BodyMax...love that workout, no muscle is left untouched!

Becky: That is one short, but INTENSE workout! Good job!

Jane: I bet you were glad to see a short workout today...albeit an intense one!

Melanie: Welcome to the thread...the Viper is just a great workout. I like all of the Terminator workouts.

Wendy: Great job! Isn't great when you can see improvements?

Bobbi: CardioKicks is so hard still for me...great job!

Sandra: I LOVE the LCD from KM...you can really feel them working. I've been trying to incorporate them into my rotations twice a week and I have noticed great flexibility gains.

Lisa: I don't have LIS, but love all of the cardio coaches...enjoy!

Katie: IM#2 is my all-time favorite Cathe workout...it was the first Cathe workout I did. Enjoy your evening out, it sounds great!

Carole: There wasn't a body part of mine that wasn't sore today. I can't wait to do that workout again, it is definately a challenge! I hope you sleep better tonight! KPC and AbRipperX is a great core combo.

Robyn: You sound a little better today. I'm thinking of you!

Annette: You have been getting some great workouts done. Continued prayers for you and your family, especially your dad.

Tammy...doing Bodymax the day after Core Synergistics is awesome!!! My whole core area was screaming after doing Core Syn the first time. I hadn't done a P90X rotation in about a year!

I ended up doing the Kicking and punching circuit with L&G standing, then 2 of the Kickmax drils alternating with up only on PUB for Back, shoulders and triceps. Then I did KPC and PUB abs....fun!! But, I'll be sore tomorrow...:)...Carole
 
Tammy, thanks for the prayers, I seemed to have more oomph in my workouts these days must be stress being let out.

Today I am sore and since I have to run 2 of my sons to different events on Saturdays now I don't get a workout in.

Carole, I think that these are some of Billy's newer workouts. Since I don't have the bands I will use my weighted gloves the next time I do that workout. I still have the Lower Body one to try next. I did not order the whole system because I really didn't want the bands nor did I need the instuctional and basic tapes. It is a nice change of pace, and my legs, knees, and feet don't like step much anymore,sigh.

So today was a rest day for me.
