Hi ladies. I don’t know whether I told you this or not but by name is Lisa. Jacmar is just the user name I set up a long time ago!

Today is a rest day. It’s raining again. My husband and I went out to breakfast and ran some errands. I do have laundry to catch up on.

Ceci I have never made it to Cathe’s gym. It’s about 2 hours south of me. Maybe one day.

Melanie there were only blasts with the step. I am terrible with anything complicated. I have two left feet.

Hi Annette!

Do all of you have children? I have a son that is 23 and a daughter who is 21. My son is done with college and lives an hour south of us with his girlfriend. My daughter is away at school in Baltimore. She will be a senior this year and then she is off to medical school.

I apologize if i miss anyone’s questions from the prior days post. I have an awful memory some days!

Hi Lisa,

Yes, I have 3 sons. Oldest turned 26 yesterday, works for a home builder in Thurmont, Md and rents a room from a friend. He has an Associate degree and a certificate in Automotive Technology. Middle son turned 24 last month and has a BA in Journalism but works as a photographer for Life Touch Photography as a school and Sports photographer. He just finished up a summer job as the Lead photographer and Videographer for a local camp run by a large residential private school. He is having trouble finding a job in journalism. Youngest son is 21.5 years old and has a certificate in Graphic design but like his brother can't find a job in his field. So he finally got a job at Walmart as a Frozen/Dairy Associate and he loves it.

Hubby and I have been married 28.5 years. I am 54 . I have a BA in Biology.

I homeschooled all the boys all the way through.

How's that for knowing all about me,LOL!!

Oh and today is a rest day for me.

I got my hair done today (new perm), and we are trying something different with the curl. Hopefully it turns out well after the first cut.

Hi Everyone,

Well, I made it back to Toronto, managed a 45 minute spin with sweat on demand and now have to get ready for a BBQ.

Lisa - Wow - smart kids. Same with you Annette. All doing so well.

Lisa - i hope you enjoyed your breakfast. Annette - 3 boys? wow. And yes, it's tough to find jobs. It happens, eventually. I didn't find a good career job until I was 28. I worked all along but never in something i cared about until my late 20's. And, I have two daughters. One is 19 and is entering 3rd year University. She is majoring in child studies because well - she didn't know what else to study and - we said she had to go to either college or uni - we didn't care what she studied.

My second daughter is 16. She will likely head to Ottawa next year too. She wants to study neuroscience. we told her she better get off her phone and netflix then, and pull up her marks. She said she felt unsupported by our comments :)

Question Ceci, do students start college earlier in Canada? Or do they graduate high school earlier than in the states?

Here you graduate at 18 from high school and if you go to college and get a BA or BS you are usually finished by 22 if you go straight through.

Middle son graduated high school in just 3 years due to being homeschooled and was technically 16 when he finished but turned 17 before the actual graduation. He therefore started college a year early and finished at 21 with his BA.

Just curious.

I only had a short run today as we decided to drive out to our friends cabin for the day.
My son is 23. He finished university in 2017 and has come back to ranch. He is getting married next June.
My daughter is 20 and going into her third year of university. She would love to make rodeo a career but the stars would really have to align for that to happen. It’s like making the super bowl.

In ontario you finish high school typically in the year you are turning 18. My daughter started university at 17 because she turned 18 in November. She just finished her second year and is starting her third year in September. She will turn 20 in November - part way thru her third year. She could finish by 21 but we expect her to study for a while e.g. a post grad certificate, a second degree etc..
 
Hi Everyone,

That BBQ last night ran until I said I gotta go at 12:30 am. I did not get to bed until well after 1am. But, the dog got us up at 7am :(

I managed a 40 minute sweat on demand workout + 20 minutes of Cathe Live supersets. I pulled something in my back on the bike from using bad form - grrrrr

So nice to read all of our kids are doing well.

Hi ladies. It is HOT here today! Today was a walk and that's all I could manage. I had to get to Whole Foods and Target before a massage.

Ceci sorry about the back!

There are a lot of jobs in our area but there is a lot of competition. My son was lucky he got a job so quickly after school ended.

Hot here too and our fridge went out and they can't service it till the 15th!!! So we are doing a swap out for a new one and the protection plan is buying us out for the old one. In the mean time we are trying to save what food we can and put the rest in a cooler. It will take 2 days to process the transaction. Fun fun fun,.....NOT!

Too hot to even walk but I did lay in the sun for 2 hours and 20 minutes.

I am really lazy today and did pretty much nothing.
Hoping a day off will re-energize me for the week ahead.
Tomorrow is a holiday here- going to try to get a lot done before the work week starts on Tuesday.
