Hi good morning today is chest and back and ab ripped. This week I have been lazy in my workouts.Yesterday I did my first P90X. PLYO X . What a workout. Hard, hard, hard.I thought I was in perfect shape. I was wrong. I have a question for the P90X users. Do you use the recovery drink? I want to know if I need the RD or not. What do you think? Thank you.

Good morning Mariangeles and all you fit ladies. It is 4:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning and I am on here. I'm not crazy, I just have to start work at 5 this morning so hopefully I can get in my eight hours and get off at 1.

Last evening PUB - love that workout. Shelley, yes.. this one definitely needs to be on your list.

Not sure about today. I want to wash my car when I get off work, but after that.... I will just have to decide then.

I picked up my barbell set yesterday. YAY!! While I didn't use it on PUB, I did use some of the plates. I only have 5, 8 and 15 lbs dumbbells, so now I have 10 and 20 lbs. plates to use. I used them on ribcage pullovers last night and it was great. I just have to be careful with that 20-pounder.... A 20-pound plate in the plate would certainly put a damper on my fitness program!!:p

I don't always post on weekends because I find it hard to get in a scheduled workout with the family home and things going on, but I am going to seriously try. My rotation says today is a rest day and tomorrow is S & H legs & shoulders (which I've never done before- am anxious to try it, as I LOVE the other S&H workouts). I'm just going to grab whatever opportunity rises and maybe do the workout today and rest tomorrow. Either way I'm doing to try to work it in this weekend!!!

Yesterday afternoon, just goofing around in the yard, I thought I'd try to see if I could still do a pull up (in a tree). I used to be able to do one or two years ago.........well I did EIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek: WOW! I was shocked!!
I still have challenges to work on like PLANKS and building on reps to the toe pushups, and my darn weak tricepsx( ......but this was an exciting discovery for me!!!

Okay, I've ended up writing a book. Sorry about that. I hope everyone has a terrific weekend, & great workouts!
 
Good Morning!

Well most likely there won't be any work outs this weekend. I have lots to do. We will be all over like horse you-know-what! lol If I can get one in, it will most likely be tomorrow but I'm not so sure about that. That's okay though. A couple days rest works for me! I think my 4 week rest after child birth has cured me of being afraid of rest days or not appreciating them. 4 weeks was waaay too long but I can handle a couple of days now! :)

Somehow I have gained 5 pounds. x( I am HOPING it's caused by my starting to build my muscle back up as I didn't start to gain until I started working out again.

Today I am meeting my sister and her family at my mom's house for the afternoon. This will be the first time that they all get to meet Joey yet so this will be a lot of fun. After that there is a B'day party to attend. Joey is spending the night with my mom so DH and I intend to take full advantage of it. ;) And NOOO, Joey is NOT going to get a little brother or sister this quickly so don't even think it! :p LOL

Okay well I have babbled long enough! Have a great day! It's gonna be a HOT one here in Jersey!

Hi again, Jane enjoy the workouts with your barbell set but be carefull.I have dumbbells . I would like to have a barbell but I have the P90X resistance bands, the bands I bought. I have enought equipment for years.Wendy have a great birthday party and a happy meeting.Becky congratulations great work with those pull ups.I love S& H too. With these workouts you don't have to use heavy weight to feel the loved burn in the muscles. Carla I hope you have a great dinner with your husband's family.I have done the P90X chest and back and abs. I feel my upper body sore. A million of pushups and pullups push.I have worked hard today.I am so happy with the P90X purchase. I have done two workouts only but I love the P90X.

Morning all!

Wow, everyone is on some kind of endorphin high this morning!

Last night I did Lowmax and Bootcamp abs. This morning I ran for about 4 miles. Oh my gosh, it was STINKY hot and humid. I hate running in the humidity and heat. The whole way I was whining to myself in my head, but at least it's done!

I'd better get going, my FIL is on his way and I want to workout before he gets here. I've been part of the family for 18 years and he has never slept in my house. He's here for 3 sleeps!!!! We'll get lots done I'm sure but boy that man can talk your ear off!!

I think as part of my w/o today whatever I decide to do, after washing my car, I am going to do as many walking lunges as I can and get a baseline number so I'll know where I'm starting when the challenge begins and I can formulate a goal of where I want to be at the end of July.

Lunacat, I'll let you know if my DH gets any calls from the neighbors about a crazy woman in his pasture.

Mariángeles, no I never used P90X's RD. I just made my own protein smoothies after all the workout and still do now. Yes PlyoX is a killer!! Shoulders and Arms was one of my favorites!!

Jane, you will love having the barbell. Really can improve most of the workouts where needed.

Wendy...rest is always a good thing. You have done some good workouts since Joey came into your life, don't worry about rest or those 5 lbs. Probably just water and they are temporary..Have a good time showing Joey off and a night alone with your DH...:)

Carla: LowMax is just one great workout - perfection!

Shelley: I love the core work from BC. Good for you on the 4 mile run...I can only manage 3 miles before my legs give out...plus you did it in the heat and humidity - Whew!

Jane: How do you do walking lunges?

Carole: LL is one of my favorite lower body workouts. I just love the pace of this workout.

Good morning, ladies!

I have lots of things to schedule and get lined up today for the road trip in LESS THAN 3 WEEKS!!! I logged on to see if a particular workout that someone has done today would inspire me to choose one. Hmmmmm.....Low Max seems to be popular today and I haven't done it in awhile. I'd also like to do the Core Max segment using my new stability ball! Then laundry max and errand max.

I need to wash my car also as it seems a BIRD had intestinal issues above my vehicle overnight....

Tammy, I haven't done these before, today will be my first attempt, but I am assuming that you just start like you are going down into a lunge then pull the back leg forward and out and go down and so forth moving forward and going up and down into lunges as you walk. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

I found a thread where Cathe had answered a question about how to count walking lunges and she counts one lunges for as each leg moves forward... i.e..... right, left, right, left would be 1, 2, 3, 4.....


ETA - this sounds particularly hard on the knees. Do these give anyone knee problems?

For the first time in a week I actually feel like I have energy. Ahhhh. This morning I did a Cardio Hits combo:
Step Fit warm up, combo 1;
Step Works combo 2;
Power Max combo 3, cool-down & stretch.

This is 66 minutes, and flows really well. It was fun! I finished my workout with Power Hour lower body work.

Laurie - okay, I've heard that song all my life, and the innuendo behind that line always passed me by, until I read it in your post yesterday LOL! Talk about naive....:p Why is your father staying for 3 nights?

Becky - that's very crazy!! You should phone the American Dental Association (is that what they're called?) and ask about the rates at which this happens. It's too bizarre. Congrats on the 8 pull-ups! That's awesome!

Foodie Sue - Yeah, I've been wearing my Ryka Rhythms 6 days a week since December, and think it's probably been long enough, but they're still looking good. I think I might just make an arbitrary decision and wear them until the end of the pregnancy, then pull out my brand new pair (sitting in the closet) as motivation to get me back to exercising, post-partum. It's very hard to get Rykas in Canada, so I have to be very judicious about tossing them :)

Shelley - I loved the Terminator dvd so much when I first got it that I actually did each workout on three consecutive days. Just about killed me. Don't do that }( I think I like the Gauntlet the best, but it's really hard to decide. Are you trying to decide about buying the Pyramids? They are an absolute must!!!

Conni - it's nice to see another Christi Taylor fan! Still Steppin' is a great workout, isn't it?

What ever happened to the other Connie (StrivingforHealth)? She hasn't posted in quite a while. Is she on holiday?

Mariángeles - are you going to follow the P90X rotation, or just add the workouts in as you feel like it? They certainly sound very hard! I hope you see some great results!

Jane - good nab on ebay! RS is a fun workout! How heavy is your barbell? Cathe's barbell in most of her workouts is 5lbs, but I've got the old-fashioned 18lb barbell. Consequently, I've found it more useful to have small plates than the heavy ones: 2.5lbs (2 sets), 5lbs (2 sets), 10lbs. I can take my barbell up to 68lbs, if I want to, but having a good selection of smaller plates makes it easier to do workouts like PLB, where you're switching so much, in 5lb increments.

Wendy - wow! Leaving the newborn with your mother overnight already? You must have a great relationship with your mother LOL! Enjoy your weekend, and your evening to yourselves. Maybe the 5lbs is water retention? You're probably drinking more now that you're working out again? And the heat and humidity can cause fluid retention too, can it not?

Carole - I think I had a dream last night that I wanted to tell you something in an email, but I can't for the life of me remember what. I'll let you know if it occurs to me later :)

All these people who apologize for writing "books"! Should my posts come with a warning??

Sandra.... keep your posts coming.. I look forward to them everyday!! My bar is 4 lbs., I have two 8# plates, four 10# plates, and two 20# plates for a total of 100 lbs. though I'm sure I won't be seeing that 100 lbs. on my shoulders!! Not in this lifetime!!
 
Great workouts ladies and on a Saturday morning,WAY TO GO!

I woke up this morning and said to myself" this working out stuff is driving me insane". Not the actual workouts but what is best. More cardio more weights, less reps , more reps and on and on. I have to admit that once again I am back in danger mode. That place where I say it's no use and then the place where I say just eat less and less until I am too skinny. I have been here before and know that I can at this point go either way and I am hanging on by a thread. I just have to try and focus on that no matter what, I am doing something for my body and stop obsessing that I don't have the perfect body and never will, I really have no reason to complain as most people would look at me and say YOU ARE NUTS! Why do we gals always feel like nothing is good enough? Anyway thanks for listening. So I will head off to my hour run and then do SH/tri and bi's. Once again thanks for letting me vent. I am sorry I was a downer but figured someone here could relate.

Hi I am Mariángeles and I post this because I don't want you have the same problem I have now. I ordered the P90X and the complete set of bands. Beachbody told me my order total came to $284.15.I have received the P90X and the complete set of band in perfect conditions. 238,58 euros was charged in my credit card. The name of the enterprise was PPLBeachbody videos. Today day 25 of Juny I have seen two new charges in my credit card of 110,99 euros and 123,84 euros and the name of the enterpriser is PPL Beachbody fitness.I have sent a mail to Amber Otto. I have bought nothing more with Beachbody and have not authorized any other charges from Beachbody.I am very angry.

Terri, I think we've all been there many times before. Your motivation seems to go up like so much smoke. I know it is true in my case that when you drop weight and go down in inches, sometimes you still see yourself in the mirror as that size. My hips still give me a fit but I'm going to keep chipping away at them (I wish I could safely chip them away literally...LOL). Hang in there girl. You've got plenty of company believe me!!
 
After 3 days of rest, I had so much energy that I did the warm-up and step from Body Blast, the step combos from Cardio & Weights, upper body from ME, and Coremax #2. I am wiped but feel GREAT!!!!

During the last step combo in C&W, I was getting so into it that I slipped off my step doing repeaters and fell right on my a$$!!! I was laughing so hard I almost couldn't finish!

Mariangeles - That is terrible about Beachbody. I hope those charges get reversed off your credit card soon.
