Daily check-in 13/07/2005

Rush rush, busy day ahead. Got up early and did Hardcore Kickbox Circuit. Felt nice to exercise again since yesterday I couldn't fit it in.:(

Have a great day!!:)

Good morning All!

Everyone's up and moving early this morning!
Kim glad to hear the shake worked for you. I'm going to buy some protein powder today to try it too. Never had it before. Keep it up.

I'm off to do 2 combos from SB & then L&G's. (Don't want to, but I'm doing it)

Please keep my MIL in your prayers today, she is having knee replacment surgery done. TIA.

Great workouts everybody!
Kali

Morning Everyone,

Today will be Meaner Legs and a run. Had my sister over to talk about exercise and eating clean. I am hoping to convert another person over to Cathe. This new series that Cathe is putting out would be perfect for her.

Welcome Dana!

Have a great day!

Good Morning Everyone!
Thank you Connie for your response about the Christi workouts. Do you have a favorite step tape??
I can't wait to get a few!!

This morning I felt the need to work hard......just don't feel like I ate well at all yesterday, so I wanted to burn it off!!!}(
Well, I'm pretty sure I accomplished that. I did Imax extreme for the first time and I loved it !!! Talk about SWEATING! OH MAN!
Also did the complete core premix from coremax.
I think I earned a nice shower and a yummy protein shake!!:D

It's a rainy day here in Ohio, but I can't complain because we need it BADLY!!

Hope everyone has a terrific day!!! :)

Goodness, it's sure busy here this morning!

Last night I did ME. I am cautiously going to say that the biceps are getting a wee bit easier. I want to up my weight on them some time in the next few weeks:)

Tonight will be Lowmax and a Coremax segment.

It's going to be 102 here today with the humidex and we have a smog advisory in effect. Blargh!

I can't believe how busy the check in is!! It's just after 9:00 and so many workouts already done. It's so nice to get it in early when it's been this hot!!!

This morning was RS, it's the first time I've done it on puzzle mats instead of carpet. In some ways it felt like a new workout, I enjoyed the turning and shuffling much more on the mats. I never did the 'turn back shuffle' on carpet and really liked the way the move flowed this morning. Now if we could just change some of the music:p. I followed that with BC core only and stretch. I'm just out of the shower and off to work.

Enjoy your Wednesday Fit Ladies!!

Take Care
Laurie

Mariángeles as usual great workout!!

Cathy...glad to hear things are getting better there! I think it's great you could keep up with the workouts somewhat.

Wendy...for me personally I wouldn't think Lowmax as an interval. My HR never gets nearly as high as in the Imax blasts. Of course I am mostly used to running which is always high impact..:)..You could just try a few Imax intervals at a time..

Have great vacation Debbie..

Charlotte...I change my workouts after I post sometimes too...I did L&G yesterday and wow felt it in my left outer thigh, it was a bit sore yesterday!!

Dana...those leg conditioning drills are killers...I can never do all of them...

Kali...you MIL is in my prayers and thoughts for her knee surgery..

Laurie Mac...Meaner legs!! Thai is a quite appropriate title..

Jane...I do think Imax3 is the hardest of the Imaxes. Imax1 though is no walk in the park..:)

I am doing my Freestyle legwork, Cardio Kicks, shoulders, chest, triceps and some abs...(I think)

Have a greay day ladies...:)...Carole

IMAX 2. Phew! I have never done it so early in the morning before! I can't believe I did in its entirety and only had to modify on 6 and 9! Wow! I am feeling pretty good!

Anyways, have a fit day, you beautiful ladies!

Missy

Good morning,

This morning I did the Classics Combo I made up a few weeks ago: SJ w/u, SM combo 1, SJ combo 2, SH combo 2, SM c/d and stretch. After my workout yesterday I had no energy in my legs this morning. I feel like I rode with Lance through the Alps yesterday. My shoulders are quite sore, too. Gosh, you don't do MIS for months, and look what happens!

Laurie - have fun with the big BodyPump launch tomorrow! Maybe I missed it, but have you already done the new BodyFlow class?

Mariángeles - I have Still Jumping and haven't tried it yet. I tried Totally Hot Cardio yesterday and didn't find it too bad at all (fun, actually), so will be trying SJ soon.

Cathy - welcome back, and great job on continuing your workouts during such a busy time!!

Wendy - yes, LowMax is considered an interval workout, as long as you're putting your best effort into it.

Debbie - enjoy your week in FL!

Becky - Christi's step is very advanced in terms of choreography, and the music, IMO, is terrific. She uses recognizable songs that hold up over the years (Heard it Through the Grapevine; Smooth; Tequila). Her workouts are fast-paced, but the intensity of her moves is lower than Cathe's. She doesn't do plyo/power moves. You get a good workout just by the fast tempo of the workouts, and the very complex choreography, rather than aggressive jumping. I like to use her workouts in combination with Cathe, to give my joints a break. Of the workouts that I own, I found Totally Cool Step to be the "easiest" to learn.

Jane - Of all the CT workouts I own (not all of them), I find Still Steppin' to be the most advanced. (check out what I replied to Becky, above, regarding my opinion on the intensity of Christie's workouts).

Dana - Hi! Great to see you here!! Welcome!

Conni - very interesting ranking of Christi's workouts. I have Step Heaven, and rate it easier than Still Steppin'. It's a tough call. I also have her CIA workouts, on tape, tucked in a drawer, because I found the step choreography impossible to learn. Now that I've become more familiar with her style, I'll have to pull it out and give it another try.

Carla - your situation sounds wretched. I hope life gets back to normal for you very soon.

Missy - great job on IMAX2!

Have a great day everyone!
Sandra

Hi Sandra,

I have to say I could have put some of Christi's tapes together on my list as far as difficulty, but I put them in the order they worked for me personally.

Becky,

My favorites are the Just for Fun series and the Heavenlies.
The JFF truly are a guaranteed smilefest, and the Heavenlies kick the difficulty level up a notch from there, imo.
I would personally get her DVD with all 4 of these workouts. Great value!

I am in Ohio and would love to see some of your rain come my way! Send it Northeast, okay??

Thanks Connie, I'll look into that. I'm not much on hi/lo though, so really want only step and isn't the dvd you are talking about half hi/low?? I workout on cement covered with carpet and just feel the floor aerobics are too much on the joints.
Did you get your Christie workouts from her website?
I'm in southwest Ohio and I'm trying to blow the rain to you!!!
Should be a pretty straight shot, so hopefully it will be there soon! ;-)

I'm back! I opted for IMAX 2...second premix with the DREADED blasts in it! WHOA!   She is truly an EVIL woman!}( }( LOL :7 I'll have to give these premixes a go a few more times before I attempt the w/o in full! I did, however, go for Step and Intervals immediately after (skipping the w/u) but only made it through the first interval before throwing in the towel and doing the abs from power circuit. I'm pretty proud of myself though! I worked HARD today! :)

Imax cals: 243
avg hr: 144 peak hr: 169
Step&Int cals: 163
avg hr: 143 peak hr: 160

Jane-Yes the HRM gives me a whole new determination! It's great! So the fat analyzer is pretty acurate, huh? DRAT! x( lol I'll just have to work all the harder then I guess! }( }(

Now I'm hungry as heck! Off to grab some food! :9

TTYL!

Greetings check in readers~
My post is late today because I did my spinning interval workout early, then dashed off to tennis. Now I have non weighted legs on my agenda and trimming of shrubs. The reward will be pool max!

Carole~ The freestyle discussions posts have intriuged me and I am experimenting with legs 4-5 times per week. Since I am not doing any impact, I thought the freestyle leg approach might help keep/improve my leg definition. My interpretation will be based on Cathe LB workouts weighted, non weighted and floor work. I'll take ny advice offered LOL!

Wendy~ Low Max is an interval workout.

to the rest of the posters today ~ Have a positive workout day!

Oh, checking back in to add. I had a friend over with her kids to swim and we did ME Lower body together to get out of the sun. I am trying to convert her.... She is an awesome runner and biker and triathlete. I'm hoping this will be her next challenge!

Good grief you all have been busy!

Today is treadmill run, musclemax, and abs from ab hits. Hey Charlotte I too switch sometimes after I post and do something different.

I did push/pull yesterday and that work out is now too easy for me. I should have done the double everything pre-mix! I felt like I cheated as I didn't truly feel worked out. I added biceps from Slow/heavy later.

Terri

Hi Sandra.

Thanks for answering my question! I opted for IMAX 2 today but I think my next interval day will be Low Max and I'll see if it works for me! If I can't get my HR up there during the blasts then I'll just use it on regular cardio days instead! :)

>>>Just wanted to let you know that I tried that protein shake you posted yesterday and it was delicious girl! Will have another one tonight. I had it in place of wanting to eat sweets at nighttime. It filled me up.

kim>>>>>

Kim, it's a fabulous shake isn't it. It does pack a few calories, although clean ones, so I will save this one for my big eating day.

Morning all. Today was SB for me. I did it on a 6" step again, but I think I'm going to go back to an 8" next time. I just don't feel as "worked out" at the end as I do when I do it on a 6". Tonight I'll probably do some extra abs with DH. I've gotten him started on doing abs in the evening.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Katie

WOW! This is a very active day so far!

This morning was ME Upper Body but no time for abs so I will do a segment of Core Max tonight.

Hope everyone has a great day!
