My road bike (professionally fitted) is what I use on my indoor trainer, you'll be able to use different hand positions on the horns, bars and drops. I actually prefer my road bike over my mountainbike on the trainer because of the gearing and being able to simulate hand positions like on a spin bike. I had no issues with any of it, including the hovering and standing parts of the workout. The spin is going to be different of course. I'm wearing my bike shoes (spd's) and I'm clipped in just as if I was riding outdoors and I use a Kurt Kinetic Rock N Roll with the front turntable, I got a great workout and burned nearly 450 calories.
