Hi Cathe,
I just read your updated "Cathe Bio" and am very impressed with all you have accomplished, your work ethic in making the best videos, as well as making them very challenging for years to come.

I also could not keep myself from clicking on Addi's puppy pictures - they are absolutely adorable!!' All puppies are cute, but labs are some of the cutest. My husband and I have five dogs - three Malinois (Arrow, Ellie, Hamlet), a Rotty (Phideaux), and a Doberman mix (Dreyfuss). We have Hamlet in the house. Dogs can be a lot of work being in the house (especially extra cleaning!), but I wouldn't have it any other way!

For the Canine Partners, what are some of the things you have to do daily for training Addi?

Hi Latecia!

Thanks for your kind words. I have actually returned Addi to Canine Partners, where he now undergoes another year of training(but this is more extensive and for specific services). As a puppy home trainer, my job was to provide him with basic training skills, socialization, and a loving home for his first year of life. I taught him to obey many commands. A few were: sit, stay, come, drop the ball, wait, load up, heel, walk nice, not appropriate, leave it, no sniff down, off, and a few more. We had formal training for an hour a day plus socialization for at least an hour a day(taking him in public---concerts, food stores, Home Depot, vacations, malls, movies, etc.) This prepared him to get comfortable with people and everday people life so that this environment was second nature to him when he was placed with his future recipient.

It is the most rewarding volunteer work I have ever done. Thanks for asking!

Give Arrow, Ellie, Hamlet, Phideaux(neat spelling for Fido), and Dreyfuss a big kiss from me. You definitely have your hands full of work and a heart full of love with FIVE dogs!

Thanks so much for writing back. We might have to look into this when "life slows down a little!" I personally don't think this will ever happen, unless we make it happen!
