CTX Series

Almost 3 weeks ago I purchased the CTX Series and I love them, BUT I just cannot seem to get the choregraphy down. I do them six days a week and get more frustrated as each day passes. Has anyone else out there had the same problem as me and it just takes a while to "get it"? Anyone else have this much trouble or am I all alone in this? :-( I always knew I had two left feet but now I know I do! I would appreciate any input.

Hi Tina,
I know how you feel!
I started Cathe's with CTX too when it newly released and I remember how frustrated I was with not getting some of the choreos. Don't worry at all! I promise you will get it soon. Sometimes giving it a couple of days of break seems to settle things in my mind. But in all honestly you will get the whole thing and more as you stick to it.
Enjoy this series, it really is a fantastic one.
Take care.:)

Hey Tina,
Practice makes perfect. Maybe you could decide which one you really want to learn first and tackle the cardio portion of that one every day this week and then move on to the next one once that is mastered. Of course, you would do the weight work for each video on the given day, but just pick which cardio you want to learn first. Just a suggesstion. Good luck and don't give up!

Tina! DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE!! When I first started with Cathe I had never done any step in my life. The first vid I bought was MIS. I could not, for the life of me, even do the warm-up!! :+ I think I ordered The Wedding Tape next because I heard the choreo was pretty simple. That really helped me with Cathe's style because everything is broken down. HTH! Once you learn her style, it's much easier! HTH!:7

Hi Tina,
I think CTX kickbox is the easiest to get for the choreo, folowed by 10-10-10, and then Power Circuit. Step and Intervals would be next, and All-Step is probably hardest. All-Step has more to learn than all the others, and for some reason that "rock, hop, turn, mambo" took me FORever! Someone offered an excellent suggestion, which was to do your regular tape for the day and then do just a few minutes of the tape you're trying to learn. That way you still have your work-out done, and you can work on learning the new ones.
Once you get it down it's fabulous!! My all time favorite, and I love the music!:)

Hi Tina...

I agree with Dawn's assessment of the choreo difficulty. And if it makes you feel any better, I just got All Step down perfect a few months ago after trying it at least 20 times since I originally got the series! It took me forever! But it will come, one day after not being able to do it, you'll just do it! Don't know how it happens, but it does! :)

RE: Hi Tina...

I hate to admit that I shelved Rythmic Step for a LONG time because I got frustrated with the choreography, then dragged it out last week. You'll do some fumbling at first, but just do those tapes that give you trouble, and you'll eventually get them.

Not getting the steps on a tape is REALLY not a big deal, and no one will know, right? There is not a camera in your workout area taking pictures that will be broadcast anywhere.

Just Do It! :)

RE: Hi Tina...

Tina! I totally understand your frustration. It does take a while to learn step...but you will get it. Preview your step tapes a couple of times, rewind and look at the steps you don't understand. Try it without using a step or just the 4" top, rewind, and try again.I learned Cathe's step by doing Step Heat, then I went on to Step Jam and the step portion of MIC - I can now do Rythmic Step and each tape gets easier to do. All of a sudden, you just "get" it! And then new tapes are MUCH easier to learn.

Listen to Honeybunch - these are cardio workouts - it doesn't matter if you can do all of the choreography! As long as your heartrate is up - you're doing great!!! I just recently noticed that I have been doing one of the moves completely wrong and sometimes I end up on the wrong side of the step, but I'm still having fun!

Don't give up! Really, if I can do it, so can you!!!
