CTX Series

Hi Cathe
I just received the CTX Series and have completed the first two tapes. I really love these workouts!! I am curious why you are only using one riser for your step (Tape 1) while some of the others are in the group are using both step risers.
Also I really want to get a good strength workout. Do you think I need to incorporate the PS Series in my rotation in order to accomplish this? Thank you for making these great tapes!!! And let me tell you I am not a fan of the step....but you are getting me to really enjoy doing it!!!!!!!

DiDi-

Not Cathe - but I also have wondered why Cathe and all of her girls except for Rhonda (who apears taller than the rest of them) have only been using one riser. She started that in the CTX Series and now in her Rhythmic Step. When I go to only one riser, it seems way to easy and I barely work up a sweat. So I am very interested in why Cathe went to one riser. I have heard alot of different things on whether two risers or one riser is better. So, Cathe what is your opinion. I do use only one riser when I get toward the middle of my pregnancies, but otherwise I always use two risers.

Thanks,
cmoroney

I have one more question. Do you personally use heavier weights for the weight section in the All step tape of the CTX series?

Back when Cathe brought out these tapes (summer of 2000)she told us that after her pregnancy she found that she got too winded with an 8" step, so that is why you see her with a 6" step in her newer tapes.

Hi Didi! Yes, honeybunch is right. I came back from my pregnancy using 6 inches and still feel quite winded on 6 inches so I stay with it. Remember, the actual height of your step is not what is important but rather that you are challenged while doing your workout (whether that be on 6 or 8 inches). If you want a strength workout beyond what is offered in the CTX tapes, then you would be better off skipping the strength portions of CTX and instead have one of the PS series tapes cued up and ready to go (fast forward the warmup since you would already be warmed up). You can do one PS tape after every other CTX workout. That would turn out to be a total of 6 CTX cardio workouts and three weight workouts (each PS tape once) per week. Good Luck!
