CTX Power Circuit?

I don't recall this one getting much discussion over here... it is on my rotation this week and I'm curious what to expect. I haven't previewed it yet, but thought you guys might have some opinions to share!

I love this one! It starts out with some pretty easy floor aerobics and then goes into lower body circuits. There are six, three step/weights and three step kickbox/weights. The weight sections incorporate different types of lunges and squats.

I often like to do this one without the floor aerobics part. I'll then add on the Boot Camp Cardio and Lower Body premix. It makes for a great hour long lower body circuit.

Have fun!

Hey Marie! I love this workout! It's VERY busy with lots of variety and intensity. First you're triple stepping all over and thinking, 'too easy' the floor aerobics beefs up a bit and then BAM!, you're done with that and on to circuits (step and step-kickbox, you're going to love the ice-breakers}( !). The time and sweat flies, I bet you'll love it, let us know!

It's a wonderful lower body workout that gets the ole heart rate up, the sweat dripping and the legs wiped. Have fun with it!

I agree that Power Circuit is a great workout, on it's own. I feel the whole CrossTrain Express series gets overlooked by people new to Cathe because the workouts are shorter. Be that as it may, they are great workouts packed into a shorter time frame. And...you could always combine two cardio portions to increase the time of the workout.

Step and Intervals is another favorite of mine on this dvd set. It is just fun to do.

I love Power Circuit; haven't done it recently but I may have to poke it in in the next two weeks.

One thing I love about is that the last 10 minutes of the cardio segment is step-kickbox, a variation I dearly wish Cathe would do more of. And, the music that kicks off (sorry - couldn't resist) the step-kickbox segment is so pnemonic it stays in your brain for hours afterward, in a good way. Kind of a driving, Celtic rhythm and melody.

Ok, all I can say is, this workout is AWESOME! I am absolutely sweating buckets. The choreo was a bit tricky at first but I really loved the step/kickboxing parts.

Thanks for all of your input!

I'm glad you like this! This is one of my favorite short workouts. I tack it on to a lot of other workouts.

I love this one and use it on days when I need to do both cardio and legs. It's a fun way to hit two goals in one session. I sometimes pair it with the cardio section of BodyMax.

Ladies, thanks for all of your responses.

Pinky, you know, I thought afterwards that the second half (once you get past the hi/lo) was really more of a lower body workout than anything. I really like separating the circuit-type workouts into upper- and lower-body. If I do the full body, I'm usually so fatigued by the end that the last couple of parts generally get ripped off!
