CTX is great!!

Cathlete
I finally got this series on DVD last week (I now have ALL of Cathe's DVDs, with the exception of Cardio Hits and the Classics!)...anyway I've been doing it this week and am just LOVING it! Had no idea it was this much fun or I'd have gotten it long ago! I did All Step this morning and really loved it...was a bit scared of this one after reading about it, lol! I'm gonna tackle Leaner (or Meaner) Legs tomorrow and will see what all the hoopla's about for that one too...can't wait!! :)

Yahoo and good for you! I use CTX all the time and incorporate different portions of it into all kinds of routines! This is probably my most used DVD(s).

Good luck with Meaner Legs er ah, I mean Leaner Legs - you need to let us know how it is for you after you complete it! Let us know what you think all the hoopla is about! LOL!!!

Have fun! :) :)

Jo

Hats off to you for doing "Meaner Legs". Holy cow that was so tough. I can't think of a tougher lower body workout in my collection.

Hey Jo and Sherry! :)

Well, I chickened out and did Kickbox this morning (pushing Meaner Legs to tomorrow, lol)...anyway, Kickbox is no walk in the park in terms of intensity...the biceps and plank work are killer!! I see now why people say they've gotten great results using this series in a rotation! :)

My favorite workout of CTX is kickbox. I like to do it with jannis safell kickboxing strike zone or CK.I love JPC too.

I bought the CTX series as a result of advice I received in this forum and I am thrilled with it as well. I mostly use LL, Power Circuit, 10-10-10, Kickbox, and the Abs workouts. What I love best is everything is under an hour, so if I wake up late, I can still feel totally worked out. It was worth the money.

Stayfit,

I hear ya!! I LOVE KPC and Cardio Kicks as well. I'm gonna have to try that Janis Saffel workout some time...I've read a lot about it! :)

Shopgirl...I agree!! It IS worth the money (as are all of Cathe's DVD's, lol!)...these workouts are shorter but mighty!! They're intense!! :)

I love kick box and KPC I don't have cardio kicks but have been thinking about getting it. I hear it is a space hog though. I am a bit limited in my w/o space.

Catherine

Cardio Kicks is definitely a space hog so be careful if you're limited.

I was wondering about the KickBox workout on CTX...How would you compare KickBox to KPC as far as intensity goes. Also, how much floor space does KickBox use in comparison to KPC? What about the kickbox workout in 10-10-10. Is that culled from the KickBox workout or is a seperate entity?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Tombo! :)

I'd say Kickbox is comparable to KPC in intensity, just shorter and different...the entire (cardio portion of) workout is only 30 minutes (as are all on CTX)...and no, 10-10-10's kickbox section is its own entity...all the cardio on CTS, on each workout, is original...I mean there are some of the same moves, of course, but it's unlike Timesaver, where sections are used again in different workouts. It's hard to say which of Cathe's kickbox workouts I like the best...Cardio Kicks was my first (actually my first-ever Cathe workout as well!), so I guess it will always have a special place in my heart!! ...but I love the other ones too! :)

Chicken! Just kidding. LOL! YOU MUST tell us how you survive tomorrow. In fact I am scheduled to do Leaner Legs tomorrow as well, so I'll be thinking you!

Good luck! :) :) :)

Jo

Edited to add: I also love Kickbox, Power Circuit and Step and Intervals - they are all GREAT!

HI Terrymia!

I thought Cardio Kicks took up too much space and my workout area is limited. Does Kickbox take up the amount of floor space as CK or is it more space concious like KPC.

Thanks again!

This series is amazing, the cardio choreography is wonderful and the PowerCircuit workout one of my all time faves. The opportunities for mishing and moshing are unlimited, I planned on Rhythmic Step tomorrow but I think I'll switch it up with Step and Intervals and then PowerCircuit (maybe a little 10/10/10 too:)). Enjoy (if that's the right word}( ;-) ) Meaner Legs!

Take Care

Meaner Legs

Did it this morning and...wow! Yep, I see why it got its nick...lol...it's the no resting between exercises (just as I'd read) that does it, I believe...my legs were shaking during the plie squats and it's been a long time since that happened! That said, not sure I think it's harder than my other Cathe lower body workouts (and I have 'em all now!)...in fact, PLB is still (so far) the only one to pretty much consistently give me DOMS the next day...though I'm waiting to see what'll be cooking tomorrow for me in that department! lol Anyway, all in all...big thumbs up for the whole CTX series! Thinking I should do a rotation of this series for about a month or so! :)

Hi again, Tombo! Yep, CK is a space hog but I just love it so!! :)) Kickbox is really not a space hog at all (except for the warm-up, which includes some traveling diagonal grapevines)...nothing like CK that has the box move, etc. It's a great workout in a half-hour! :)

RE: Meaner Legs

Isn't it amazing? I just got this one last month and am inlove with it. I've wanted it for the longest time but she keeps coming up with new series. Finally got it! It's chaptered so well too and it's impressive how much she can fit into so little time. Those short cardios are intense! I don't know how people can add them up in one workout. I die when those power 7s and 15's show up. Plus despite liking Kickbox...I know that lunge thing is somewhere in there! My faves are AS and SI. PC when I've been bad. Have fun!

You have convinced me to buy this set of videos. I have been debating whether or not I should get them, but now I think I will. They sound like they are good workouts. Thanks.

They're wonderful Loonette...you won't regret it!

Funny, LL had my legs shaking during the Plies too...& I absolutely could not do the second set. COULD NOT! Very unusual for me. Hmmm.
