Crunches w/ Med Ball in BC & ME

Hi Cathe,

I have a question: when doing the crunches with the medicine ball in Boot Camp and Muscle Endurance, how far up should I come? In BC it seems you come up into a V with your torso and one leg; in ME you seem to come part way up, but Cedie is in a V. Should my goal be to get the ball as close to my foot as possible when I come up?

And, fyi, this new series is great! Even though you say you are not maxed out, I am thrilled to be keeping up with you, realizing I'll be able to go harder later. My children are fascinated after previewing your DVD's with me, and now ask each time I do a workout how I am doing. Talk about accountability! My 11 year old wants to try one, but I am encouraging her to stay with her own workouts that are supervised (she's a swimmer). :)

Hi Joanna! Thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself and family :). I think it is wonderful how they support you (and vice versa, of course).

Both versions of the ball crunch are fine and effective. The partial crunch version is a modified version. The full sit up is a bit more advanced but also more demanding on your lower back. If you have no problems going all the way up, you can do the full version if you prefer. Take Care!

Thanks, Cathe. I've been doing your workouts since 1999, but this is the first time they've really paid attention. Oh, and they got a good laugh out of Brenda doing her crunches with an imaginary ball. Humor is healthy too!
