Crosstrainers or Aerobic Shoes for Carpeting

I have just started exercising again and need a new pair of shoes for my Cathe cardio DVD's. I have to work out on carpet and am wondering if I should get crosstrainers or aerobic shoes. I have a short foot that is narrow in the heel and wide at the ball of the foot, so I think that Ryka's will give me a good fit. I can find Ryka crosstrainers to try on and the fit feels pretty good, but can't find their aerobic shoes to try on so I don't know the difference in the soles. I'm hoping you can give me some guidance.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Cheryll!
Here is how Ryka describes their aerobic shoes:
Critical shock-absorbing cushioning with forefoot and ankle support; delivering a secure and comfortable fit.

Here is how they describe their cross trainer shoes:
A wider base of support for stability in lateral movements across a wide range of fitness activities.

Hope this helps!

Hi!

Just wanted to say that I recently got some Ryka crosstrainers and I love them! I wear them from my step, hi-lo and weight workouts. I'm on carpet too. They provide great support and somehow help me do the power moves even better.

I like cross trainers to:D Work great with Step to kickboxing!! (I work out on carpet to) Hope this helps!!

Cheryl, I am currently wearing Ryka Stylus and I workout on carpet. I think either style - aerobic or cross-trainer - would work for you.

I switched to crosstrainers simply because it was so hard to find good aerobic shoes. The crosstrainers work great for me as I do a variety of different workouts anyways. I like New Balance as well as Ryka. Ryka tends to run a bit small though.
