Crossfire/ToTheMax/HIIT

Hi! I am considering getting these workouts to add to my cardio. I have a few questions. To give me an idea of intensity, can anyone who has done both compare them to Shaun T's Insanity month 2 workouts? Or Tony Hortons PlyoX and X2 Plyocide (I do these last two holding a set of 8 lb Dumbbells for 80% of the workout to increase the intensity) . I'm looking for similar intensity, perhaps even more, but with more variety (it looks like Cathe keeps it very interesting from the clips). My nest question is on the step. I don't want complex dance type choreography. I have 2 left feet and prefer to focus more on working really hard than on complicated dancey moves if that makes sense? More of a plyometrics focus I guess. I am new to Cathe, just got XTrain, and am looking forward to adding more of her routines to my fitness library. Thank you so much (-:

I haven't done the ones you are asking for a comparison. However, I can answer your choreography complexity question. The step work is straight forward and no nonsense. The HiiT and Tabata step exercises are repeated for the interval. Crossfire/ To the max/ HiiT are three fantastic DVDs. The first 2 have tons of premixes and bonuses. HiiT has 3 workouts all under 30 minutes so they rock for days when you're short on time.

Thank you! They look great, and I really like the rotation Cathe suggests for adding them to the X Train.

Hi Viola,
I have done the Insanity rotation and P90X rotation so I am familiar with Plyo X. I think Cathe's HiiT workouts are harder than PlyoX, and right up there with Insanity too, but to me have less of a dread factor because there is not as much repetition to her workouts. I find To The Max to be more difficult than Cross Fire, and I think 40/20 is the most difficult of the HiiT series. Double Wave Pyramid is my favorite, and 30/30 is a good workout with good variety. PlyoX I would rate as the least challenging of these, but I have never seen Plyocide so I cannot weigh in on that one at all.
If you have XTrain and you have Tabatacise and you like that, then you'll like Cathe's other interval workouts.

Hope that helps! Eva

Thank you, Eva! Very Helpful! I am right there with you on the insanity dread factor! They are good workouts to throw in once a week, but I need more variety I think. Cathe seems to vary equipment, etc, so I think I will love these! I just ordered DVDs of Crossfire/ToTheMax, and will get the HIIT via download! (-:

Right on! HiiT doesn't have premixes so downloads are the way go. Now the other 2 have loads of premixes and bonuses so DVD is (IMHO) the best way to go.
You are going to love your new workouts.
I agree with the no dread factor. Cathe makes fun workouts.
