Hai,

It was a long time ago that I was on this forum,
I don,t know why, maybe I will be there more often,
I have a question ,does anybody one know Cross Train Xpress
and what do you think about it? ,is it advanced enough.?
Maybe you can tell me that?

Thanks , Anja

Cross Train Xpress is an excellent series and yes it's advanced. You can use it as is or break it up to use with other workouts. With the exception of Leaner Legs (which is very tough), each workout has one cardio section workout about 30 minutes long and one body part workout with multiple exercies. I always loved that the cardio has a lot of variety. There is also an option I believe to do all the upper body parts as one workout. It's a great set and I highly recommend it.

I think I am in the minority, but next to the timesaver w/o, I think this is my least used workout. It reminds me of the timesaver workout - cardio section followed by one body part. I think the w/os could be good add ons - or good to use as a rotation in itself if you are short on time. There is also a complete upper body workout (a compilation of the one per day body parts) and a lower body routine called leaner legs- which I really really like. I think Leaner Legs is the best w/o in this series. There is also a collection of ab routines that I use on occassion. I'm just not a huge fan of the cardio.

I highly recommend it to the advanced or seasoned exerciser.

I'm finishing up a CTX rotation right now.

Pros:
It's time efficient

The weight workouts are well-planned and effective (for maintenance in my case: I haven't seem any gains with this rotation).

The music is good an motivating (though see my comments in 'cons').

Cons:
There's a lot of repetition in the moves (also repeated from Cardio Kicks and Circuit Max that came out at the same time) and the music. LOT's of power 15's/7's/3's.

Of the 6 workouts, 4 contain step, and 5 contain power moves/plyometrics. That's not enough variety for some (including me) to avoid overuse injuries. Even though I've changed some of the mvoes to low impact, and vary my step height, my knees are telling me that it's time to end this rotation.

The kickbox form on these is barely tolerable by anyone who is a stickler for form (again, moi!).

Anja,

It really depends on your goals. I love to use this series when I want to do cardio & weights in one day. I don't have a lot of the time , so this series continues to work for me.

If you can only devote an hour to exercise, this would be a definite buy, IMHO.

I still use all of Cathe's other workout's religiously and am happily suprised when my rotation calls for Cross Train Xpress.

BTW...leaner legs should have been called Meaner Legs. OHHHHH! It hurts so good.

Have fun!
