Crazy, Strong & Loving It for Jan. 19

I didn't stretch last night - honestly because I forgot and dh and I got involved in watching "24". I paid for it this morning. My right side (obliques, IT band and hip area) was so tight that it hurt to do cardio. I hate this, it's really getting old to feel like I'm 100 and not 43.

I did Amy Bento's Kickbox Surge but only did the first 3 kickbox combos and surges. I couldn't give my all and just felt like I was going through the movements. I quit after 40 minutes and wanted to do Yoga Stretch but couldn't get the effing DVD to work. My DVD players suck, I have two and it's a crap shoot to see which one will work. I asked dh for a decent one for my birthday. He told me to just go get one next time I'm out. I'll see, I hate spending money on stuff like that. So I couldn't do the stretch and by the time I got done messing around with the DVD players I only had 10 minutes to stretch. So I just stretched out on my own. I'll do the same tonight for sure.

Cardio Stats:
40 minutes
2 minutes below zone
11 minutes in zone
28 minutes above zone
324 calories burned.

Not too bad considering how I felt. I love this workout, it's really fun

I'm seriously contemplating taking an entire month off after this rotation. I'll have to see how I feel by the time I get done with it. I can't keep feeling this way, I'm so uncomfortable with my tight and sore muscles. They have been overtrained for too long. :(

Good Morning,

Tonite I will do EBs Zen Sculpt Pilates. I feel better today just the usual TTOM stuff.

Debbie-it sounds like your body needs a nice long rest. I hope you get a good stretch in tonite.

Hi ladies. I may not be able to do anything. Was going to do Cardio Fusion. Doc put me on antibiotics and it's making me super sick to stomach, had to leave work. So we'll see what happens. Right now I'm on my couch in sweats.

Debbie - It does sound like you might need a little bit of a break. I am starting to feel that way myself. Mostly because I just don't feel into my workouts right now (mostly the cardio). I should have taken a rest week before starting your rotation. It's been more than 6 months since I've taken one  and I'm starting to pay mentally.

Roxie - hope you enjoy your pilates tonight. I think I need a Zen workout!

Hey Everyone!

I really felt the urge to run today, but alas, the weather sucks. Rain, snow, cloudy, cold. Ick ick ick. Maybe Thursday....

I did do a new Shock Cardio though! I did the Pyramid HiiT! It wasn't too bad. I did like that there was no equipment. I GUESS it's not as intense as the other HiiT's (because I didn't feel the urge to spit during it. LOL!). but it still kicks your butt! It's HiiT, ya know? I did Yoga Abs afterwards. Am I the only one that can't do the levetations because it hurts the HECK out of my wrists and fingers? I can NOT hold my hands in that position. Not saying that my core could actually lift my legs, but my wrists KILL like that. Even if I try using fists. The last sequence on that one is hard, though. But felt good! (Plank, to side plank, reaching under, back to Plank, to crocodile, upward dog, downward dog).

I didnt' do too bad with yesterday's chest work with my chest still having a little DOMS. Once I got warmed up, it was ok. It didn't seem as HARD as GS, but I did back off on the chest weights a little.

Gotta run out to vote and get some groceries done, will BBL for personals!

Belinda - I hope you are doing ok. Please check in with us when you get home.

Roxie - I think you're right, I need a rest. But I always take 1 week rests every 8-12 weeks. I don't know why I feel like this right now. It's really upsetting.

Heather - Wow, 6 months since you've taken a rest week? You really need to do that every 8-12 weeks. I probably should have taken a week off after I stopped P90X but it seemed like I had a lot of rest days throughout that workout due to injuries. I hope you feel better soon.

Chris - I don't get how workouts make you want to spit? What does that mean? LOL! I've done workouts that make me want to puke, but not spit. Nice job with your Hiit today!

Nora - Great workouts yesterday! You are like the little Energizer Bunny. You just keep going and going and going.... :D

Good morning -

Didn't workout yesterday and I'm really excited to work out today! I'm thinking of lifting this morning and then doing the Pyramid Hiit tonight. My youngest DD wants to work out with me when she gets home from school and I'm thinking this one might be a good one. Maybe I'll get the whole family to do it...
Heather - sorry to hear that you're feeling sick to your stomach - yuk! I hope you get to feeling better soon. Do you ever do any other instructors workouts?
Belinda - yes, definitely let us know how you are!
Chris - I think I'll copy your workout today. Hiit will be fun with the family! (I need to have a camera ready, I think!) And I guess I don't practice those levitation holds enough, because they just seem IMPOSSIBLE to me!
Debbie - do you ever get massages? I know for me they seem like such an indulgence, but they are SO good for you (me)! And I think I asked you before if you had a foam roller...?? You train so well, and so hard. Do you think you could make up a rotation for yourself of stretching? Give your body some soothing attention and just stretch one day, yoga the next, foam roll the next....? Maybe a massage thrown in there? Some Kenpo or something mixed in every few days? I don't know. I just think if we don't write it in to a rotation, it's easy to get left out. But I've never thougth to make stretching a rotation all its own...I should do that, too....
Roxie - hope your workout is a good one. How are you doing with your water intake? That should help too with TTOM.
All right, time to get busy. I'll check back with my workout(s) later...

Wendy, My dh gives me great massages but it's really hard to get a massage near the hip bone area. That's where most of the pain is. I just ordered a foam roller and am hoping that will help. And I'll probably have to make up some sort of rotation that includes stretching and if I end up taking a month off I will probably just do stretching and yoga workouts with a little walking.

On the levitation moves, I have a hard time doing those too. I use yoga blocks and they really help to get my wrists in a comfortable position where I can actually lift myself up. You might want to try that.

I have come to the realization that Belinda was probably not meant to do STS everytime she starts it something bad happens to her. I feel bad for her because she really wants to do it.

Debbie: I had to DVR "24", and am in the process of catching up with it. Man oh man, I love Jack Bauer! He is my hero! (and HOT!). ... Sorry you're feeling sore. I think a rest week/month or whatever you end up sounds like the best idea for you. You have been working VERY and HEAVY for a LONG stretch. ... The foam roller should be good.

Roxie: Glad you're feeling better. enjoy your Zen!

Heather: Oh , that antibiotic sounds nasty. It's sucks it makes you feel so icky. how long do you have to take it? I can't believe you worked out yesterday feeling so bad! You are a diehard!

Wendy: How fun you'll do Pyramid HiiT with the fam! It is totally do-able, because you don't use equipment, it's just you and jumping stuff. So relieved to hear you (and Debbie!) can't do the levetations either! Hmmm... I'll have to keep my eye out for those blocks, Debbie.

Nora; Nice workout yesterday (as always!!!). yes, the 40/20 is fun, in a crazy kind of way! The candlelight yoga sounds dreamy! LOL!

All righty -
I chose Drill Max this morning - had a great workout!! I wanted something not high impact (as I'm hoping to do Hiit later) and I definitely needed to incorporate weights. I don't think I've done this one as is since I bought it?!? Always nice to revisit things.
I'm looking forward to doing full body weight work and circuits here in the near future. Those seem to work well for me. I can't wait to try Travel Fit and Circuit Blast. Anyone have thoughts on these yet?
I also did a foam roller stretch. I bought my husband one for Christmas. With all this talk of stretching, I thought I'd better practice what I preach. The roller came with a sheet showing some stretches. I really liked the ones for the hams/glutes/quads. But I couldn't really understand the benefit of some of the others...?? But at least I got to sit and watch tv while doing them!
I'll keep you posted if I can get my family to do a Hiit later.....

Hi ladies. I finally started feeling better this afternoon and tackled Cardio Fusion. I probably shouldn't have as I have a headache now - I think it just got my sinuses going again. I am actually pretty sore from yesterday's weights. I thought I hadn't gone heavy enough, but apparently I didn't do too bad.

Roxie - You're right, I hadn't even thought about Belinda trying STS again! I sure hope she's ok.

Wendy - I haven't tried the travel fit or cardio circuit workouts yet. I'll be curious as to your thoughts when you do try them. I really have only ever used Jari Love and one other for weights (can't think of her name, she's pretty good, it was just boring).

Chris - I took the antibiotic right before I walked out the door and ate right when I got to work (so within 15 mins). About 30 mins later I wasn't sure i was going to make it to my car to get home. I HATE to feel like I'm going to throw up. That's one of the absolute worsts for me.

Belinda - I know I should have taken a break a long time back. I just get going and going and....yep, going. I was enjoying the different rotations I kept doing then really into not working out to the DVDs.

Nora - hope you're well!

Hi girls!:)

I'll just check in quickly then do personals.

Here's today's workout:

STS Cardio: Circuit Blast= 44 min
Calories burned= 421
This was really fun and I loved it! It was intense, but fun and the time just flew by, love that! Cathe has another hit with this one. Two thumbs up!!!!

P90X Core Synergistics= 57 Min
Calories burned= 545

Total calories burned from today's workout= 966!:eek::cool:
Ok, stick a fork in me I'm done!:p

Debbie- Sorry that your having to deal with sore and tight muscles please take it easy. Maybe a nice warm bath would help or my corn pillow heater I made you. Maybe hit the advil too! Thanks for the kind Energizer Bunny comment, I try to workout and do my best. Take it easy girl!;)

Roxie- EB has some nice pilates type workout and she's good. I know you'll have fun with that workout. I hope your stomach is being nicer to you and that you got some rest. Feel better!;)

Heather- I'm sorry that your having such a rotten time with the antibiotics. maybe try sipping gatorade or something like that. It sounds like you can use some quality comfy couch time since your not feeling so great. Just relax and take care of yourself.;)

Chris- Don't feel bad about the levitation holds, I can't do them either, I'm convinced that Cathe and crew can only do them because they must moonlight as magicians in there spare time, LOL!! I have no prayer of getting these either I have weak wrists and with MS on top of that in my right hand that's suffered nerve damage its just so not happening for me. I still try, but man am I ever glad no one else can see my attempts. I only once in a blue moon can actually perform a pike on the ball, again wrists and strength vary for me daily due to MS and MS fatigue/balance. Wow! You braved the Pyramid HiiT, you rock!!! I've done the HiiT 30/30, and 40/20 so far. I'm sort of scared of the last one, yikes!! I do like intense cardio where you swear your heart is going to burst but doesn't and your gasping for air sweaty mess. but after that you feel so great and even invorgated.

Wendy- Others have given Pyramid HiiT rave reviews so I'm sure you'll love it and the best part is its only 30min. I haven't tried that one yet but its on the list of workouts to work in my rotation. I hope you and your DD have fun doing that one together! Take care!

Belinda- Please do whatever it is doctors and DH think you need to get well and feel good again. Don't try to do too much too soon, its not worth injury or getting ill in the process. We all know your a workout rock star around here, so please take care and get well ASAP!!!:):D

That's it for me tonight girls, off to the shower and make dinner and watch the Biggest Loser. Have a great relaxing and calm evening and get a good nights sleep!;)

Hugs!!;):D:cool:
