CRAZY STRONG & LOVING IT FOR AUG 20, 2010

Morning ladies! Sorry I missed the check-in yesterday, it was a rest day for me (MUCH needed, slept like a log) and another crazy day at work which meant no time for fun stuff like this. Boo!

BUT - I did get up and run this morning, can't say it was my best run but I got 'er done. About 4-ish miles. Tomorrow am aiming for another long-ish run in Maine so figured a shorter one today was probably a smart idea. I cannot BELIEVE the half is just five weeks away! Woo! I'm excited, slightly nervous, but feeling good about the progress. :)

And Heather gave me a great idea for a tank top slogan to wear on race day:
Crazy. Strong. And Running.

How great is that?? If I end up with it on race day, I'll totally take a pic to share with ya'll!
 
Today was Meso 3, Week 2, Disc 30, Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps. Again, I changed some of the exercises with this workout, I used the same ones I did last week but increased my weights by 5%, in some cases more.

So this is what I did:

Approximately 1 minute rest between each exercise and grouping.

Warmup:
Standing Barbell Front Press - 25#/15 reps
Standing Barbell Front Press - 30#/12 reps

Workout:
Standing Barbell Front Press - 47#/7 reps
Barbell Curl - 57#/7 reps
Flat Bench Tricep Dumbbell Extension - 22's/7 reps
***Did 4 sets of these exercises.

Seated Lateral Raise - 12.5's/7 reps
Incline Curls on Stability Ball - 27's/7 reps
Double Arm Overhead Extension - 30#/7 reps
***Did 4 sets of these exercises.

Seated Rear Delt Flyes - 16's/7 reps
Seated Concentration Curls - 27's/7 reps
Close Grip Barbell Press - 66#/7 reps
***Did 4 sets of these exercises.
****I increased more then 5% on the CGBP because at 63# it was way too light. 66# was just about perfect.

Have to work a half day today due to me being on vacation all of next week! :D I need to get some stuff ready for the girl who is doing my job next week.

Today will be my rest day. 3 days of getting up early did me in. I actually only woke up 1 time last night! I had it stuck in the very back of my mind that if I woke up around 5-ish I'd go ahead and get in chest and back. Obviously didn't happen.

Debbie - holy freaking crap with the incline and concentration curls. 27lb dumbbells???? I am SO not worthy :eek:

I was gonna say the same thing - Debbie, we ALL bow to you on those weights!! And PS. SO glad you are finally getting a real vaca! You must be DYING to get out of there today!!

Debbie-you are awesome I couldn't hardly to 7lbs on shoulders last night.

I did my abs twice this week, Roxie. Plan to do them tomorrow after I run, too :)

Thanks everyone! LOL on my weights. Believe it or not, those are lighter then when I did STS the first time around.

I am estatic in this vacation. First one for me in 7 years! I'm out of here in 1/2 hour! Woo hoo!

Hi Roxie, Nora, Belinda, Jolene, Chris & Andrea.

Ended up with HSTA last night. I like that workout, but enough with the leg presses already...:eek:. Got in CCV1 this morning. Felt good on the quads.

So ladies, I will be MIA until Monday, Aug 30th. I hope everyone has a great week and super-awesome workouts!!!

And I'll do my best to limit my intake of Mickey Mouse-shaped ice cream pops...:p
 
Hey girls!

Busy day so far, and I'm STILL busy with stuff, but taking a minute here.

I did FIRE 45 Class, FUN one (aren't they all?) with the song "Boom..I got your boyfriend, boom .. I got your man!" FUNNEST combo ever! Still loving these workouts (can you believe it). things change up next week to HiiTs. I have to figure out some kind of weight work schedule with it.

Belinda: Hope you got in a good workout today AND some challenging abwork!

Debbie: I'm LOL because I looked at your WARM up set for shoulders , and not realizing it was your warm up, thinking "Wow! She does go heavy on shoulders, but I maybe could pull that off for JUST 8 reps". And then I saw your REAL shoulder presses. LMAO!!! Enjoy vacation!!!!! (do I have to tell you that/?)

Heather: Nice choice to rest today!!!

Jessica: Nice run, even though you didn't feel it. LOVE that title! LOVe it!

Roxie: Good CLX work last night and today!!!

Melissa: I'm guessing , you're going to Disney World? How fun!!! enjoy!!! stay cool! My sister is at Harry Potter World there this week. Yes, HSTA has WAY too many leg presses!!

Nora: Oh definitely CORE 20 gets ya good! Using the tubing is cool. The first laying down exercise where you wrap the tubing around your feet and then stretch out , KILLED my thighs yesterday. So weird! ... I think your son IS just being "normal". His view of himself and friends being the center of his universe is SO normal. It sucks, but I guess we should be thankful for it.
