Crazy, strong & loving it for April 23 - 29, 2012

Cathlete
Morning ladies,

I am starting W4 of my rotation. I will do LIC today again. I also need to get some abs in;)

What are your plans today?

I will be back and catch up on personals;) Have a wonderful workout and day.

Today starts Week 5 of this rotation. I had a really good workout and liked how I did it this morning.

I had a long rest break between each set so I hopped on my treadmill and jogged for the 2 minute break. I wanted to get my HR up a little more and that worked well. When I do Friday's workout with the minute and 30 second rest breaks, I'll do the same.

Today was 2 sets/18 reps w/2 minute rest.

Step Ups w/Band using 4 risers

Dumbbell Curls - 12's

Double Arm Tricep Kickbacks - 5's

Front Raise - 10# plate

Flat Dumbbell Flyes - 15's

Bent Over Lateral Raise - 12s

Ended up jogging 1/2 mile and burned an extra 60 calories.

Good Morning,

Tonite for me is AT, we didn't walk this morning boss lady had a crazy weekend. I won a 10 day pass and 2 free training sessions at a new gym here in town so I am going out tomarrow night and check it out.

Debbie-good job with your workout. I put on a pair of jeans I haven't been able to wear for years and bought a size smaller yesterday and it is all thanks to you.

Belinda-good job with your workout.

I used #15 BB for warm up set, Legs track used #35 BB, Chest track used #20 BB, Back track used #25 BB, Shoulder track used #7 dbs.

Total calories burned= 631 Wow! I sweated buckets it seems I was literally dripping, now that's what I call a workout!:D

________

Belinda- Hello and waves to you. LIC is a very fun circuit workout and there is abs on it too. I know you'll enjoy that one, its a keeper. Have a great day!;)

Debbie- Congrats for being in week 5 of your rotation, it sounds like great one too, and I love the way you decided to run on the TM to get HR up during rests, nicely done. WTG on today's workout as always your workouts are always awesome. Take care my friend.;):)

Roxie- Congrats on your winning a pass to a local gym:eek:, that sounds like it will be fun to check out. :) I know you didn't get the walk in today before work, that's ok. Nice workout you have planned for this evening, enjoy AT. Take care!;):)

That's it for me today girls, have an awesome evening and I'll see ya at tomorrow's check in.:)

Hugs to everyone:)

Nora

Hi Girls! :)

I'm on week 4 of Debbie's Rotation this week! I think I may extend it another month, unless Cathe puts out something more tempting for May. but I am liking the extra cardio and running in this rotation alot!

Instead of Drill Max, I did KCM's Circuit Burn, the double workout premix (Roxie and Nora, do you have this one?). LOVED it! Real cool new moves/squat sequences and functional stuff. It was tough on my sleep deprivation, but I felt great to have done it!

Belinda: I bet you kicked butt with LIC!!!

Debbie: Great idea to get that extra cardio in!! Overall great workout today.

Nora: Sounds like a great workout there too! Glad to hear you are loving the new TF's!!! Did you try the basic cardio TF yet? or just the HiiTs?

Roxie: AT is a toughie! you decided not to do DM too? I can't even remember the last time I did it. But I did Cardio Fusion the other day and the cardio part seemed like too much for me today.

Ok! That's it for me! see you tomorrow! Hope to get out to run if the weather is nice...

Good evening,

I did Low Impact Challenge earlier. Love that one!

My husbands surgery is on Thursday, I wll not be around much the days he is in the hospital. Please, keep him in your payers!

Debbie - good job on your cardio today.

Roxie - enjoy AT tonight. I will do that one tomorrow. Congrats on winning a pass to the gym, that's awesome!

Nora - good job with your Les Mills Pump and TF workout today. Nice weights too! LIC is all step. I didn't do AT today. They both a lot of fun.

Chris - glad you enjoy Debbie's April rotation. What results did you get?

Good night, girls! I will see you all in the morning.

Today was cardio and I chose Cardio Coach #3. Had an ok workout. I feel fat and I really need to get back to calorie counting. Will start back today. This sure seems like a never-ending battle anymore...

CARDIO STATS:
45 minutes total
8 minutes below zone
24 minutes in zone
14 minutes above zone
351 calories burned
2.25 miles traveled

Roxie - You're so welcome, but you stand in front of the mirror and thank yourself! You did the work, I only gave you the resources. Nice job, my friend! I am very proud of you!

Nora - Nice workout yesterday girl! You are kicking it lately!

Belinda - I will definitely keep your husband in my prayers! I hope all goes well.

Chris - Glad you are enjoying my rotation. I almost want to get all those workouts (the new series) so I can do it! I think I need more cardio in my rotations. I'm just not budging with the weight anymore. I may do up some kind of cardio and weights rotation for myself for the next 8 weeks once I get this one complete. I just need to figure out how to do it on my own.

Hey Girls!

It was cool and damp out this morning, so I decided not to go out for a run. Did Intensity instead! Oh MY! That is one kickbutt workout!!! Glad it's "just" an hour! Of course, I felt great to get through it!

I have the hardest time losing any weight too. I am down 5 lbs from January, but that's about it. It's not my workouts, though. It's my eating. I usually eat real well during the week, and the weekends I "stress eat" and eat at work because I'm so fatigued (and stressed!). So I maintain at best. I know I hate "quick fixes and gimmicks" but I ordered this stuff called PGX. It's supposed to be all natural and full of fiber and it fills you up and eases cravings. That is what my issue is, I always "feel" hungry it seems. Whatever. I know it's not a miracle and I'll just see how it is. I should get it in on Wednesday. I DID , on the other hand, have a friend at work say I looked like I had lost weight! Always good to hear! I definitely see the scale move better with a rotation like Debbie's, though. Heavier on the cardio and circuit stuff.

Debbie , you could just follow YOUR generic schedule rotation, instead of the specific workouts. I think Circuit/cardio/FB weights/Circuit/cardio is amazing calorie burning! And of course, the yoga is a nice bonus.

Roxie: Are you going to the gym tonight? Sounds like a fun thing to break up your workout routines!

Belinda: I'm sure you're nervous about your DH's surgery. But it will be so good to get him better too, although it will be a hard recovery I'm sure. Just demanding, I guess. He'll come right home or will he go to a type of rehab? ... Nice going on LIC today!

Okay, better run, got a sick kid home and I have to get some groceries!!

Good Morning,

Well I was lazy last night and didn't workout but today is a new day. Boss lady and I went for a walk this morning windy and chilly and then tonite I have my first gym session but hoping to get done early enough I can do 4DS LIS Step. I still need to make up AT and all the stretching I haven't done.

Stats:
42 min
16 in the zone
111 min hr
134 max hr
167 cals burned.

Hey gang,

Workout is done! Getting ready to walk the dogs, it's windy...but the sun is out;)

Thanks Debbie and Chris!

Debbie - I hear you on the cal! My eating is all over the place lately:confused: Nice job on CCV3 today.

Chris - my husbands surgery is Thursday, if everything goes well..he will be released Sunday. A nurse and a PT will come to the house 3x a week, I guess that's his rehab! Like you said it's gonna be tough the first few weeks. He is in so much pain for the last 15 month. It's bone on bone, he is huring way to long:mad:

Off to walk the dogs. BBL!

Hi girls!;)

I finished today's workout at around 12:15 pm but had to rush to get ready to pick up kids and do the mom taxi thing. Then there was taking oldest son to track practice and then picking up youngest and taking him to doctor's appointment then to the pharamacy. Phew!:p I'll just check in now.

Here's today's workout:

For this I used Cardio Coach Volume 3 revised and used a stationary spin bike.

Time= 45Min
Distance= 11.04 Miles
Calories Burned= 645
AVG BPM= 153

Les Mills Pump-Hard Core ABS = 20 Min
Met Value= 5.0
Calories burned= 137

Total calories burned= 782

I had a great workout today with Cardio Coach Volume 3 on the Spin bike, felt awesome sweated buckets. I also sweated up a storm with Les Mills Pump Hard Core Abs, boy they got me good. Cathe would approve!:D

________________

Belinda-Nice workout today, well done. I wish your husband well with his surgery. I'll keep you both in my prayers and ((Hugs and well wishes for tomorrow)):)

Roxie- Great job getting that morning walk in before work with the boss lady, WTG! So tonight is your first gym session, great I hope it is fun and the time just flys by. I see you mentioned wanting to do 4DS tonight too. Sounds like a great workout and challenge, you are doing such a great job give yourself a pat on the back, well done. Have fun tonight:)

Chris- Wow, good for you with Intensity today! Yes, that is a kick butt workout, well done girlfriend. Aww on the eating thing I hear you I haven't mastered it yet. I hope the PDX stuff you ordered will be just what you need to ease the stress eating and make you feel full. Let us know how that works. Oh, no I haven't yet done the TF Firestarter workout yet, but I will tomorrow, I can't wait because I always have a fun workout with TF. The Firestarter is supposed to be regular class not a HiiT so that will be fun cause I love the TF Class workouts too. THis Firestarter class is supposed to be 37 Minutes in length, so that should be good, but it does focus a bit more on technique and maximizing correct form and calorie burn that way, I'm looking for to it. Take care and sleep well.;)

Debbie- Great minds think alike I did Cardio Coach Volume 3 today too, but on the stationary spin bike. Great workout for you today. I know some days I'm just more into it than others. Yes, I know I'm going to get back to calorie counting and food journaling as well. Ugh! But hey, if its what I need to do then I'll do it. Once again great workout today.;)

Hugs to everyone!;):)

Nora

Today was total body and I had a good workout. Short and sweet, just like I like them! Only around half hour workout and then I got on my treadmill and did a fast walk up a 4% incline for about 15 minutes

2 sets/8 reps with 1 minute rest between each set.

Incline Barbell Press - 80#

Barbell Row - 70#

Squats - 85#

Dumbbell Military Press - 15's

Barbell Curls - 55#

Close Grip Bench Press - 65#

No workout tomorrow because I have to be at work by 7. I'm ok with that, though, because my workouts have been really good this week.

Chris - Me too. I eat so well during the week and then the weekends come and it goes to pot. I hate that. I really try to do good on the weekends but I tend to eat out more because I cook all week and I refuse to cook on weekends. But maybe I'll need to change that? And truth be told, I'm really tired of Cathe's workouts. I hate to say it, but it's true. I've done them so much I just find no excitement in them anymore. At least right now. So I thought I'd make up my own total body/circuit type program. Once I take a week off from training I'll have time to figure it out.

Good Morning,

We went for a walk this morning and it was beautiful 60 degrees and no wind. Tonite I am going to a body pump class instead of doing PH, I might also do something before class it doesn't start until 6:30.

Debbie-nice workout.

Nora-looked like you had a good one too.

Hi there!

I did Power Hour today. I was actually looking forward to it. I usually don't. But I was prepared for the endless reps. Got me good, even with the lighter weights. My legs are still DOMSing from Mondays workout too!!!

Debbie: I think I alternate so much between "instructors" , I don't get tired of Cathe's workouts. I kind of miss them after a while. Definitely a good idea to just work on your own circuit/TB weight rotation! And that should be fun too! My eating on the weekends is crappy because of work. I don't sleep, so I get exceptionally hungry. Plus the stress of my job, if there's a bag of chips sitting at the nurse's station, hard to say no to!!! Ugh. I have done a tiny bit better lately, bringing my own healthy snacks, but it's definitely not even close to eating clean!
..Great workout today, btw!!!!

Nora: WOW! Sounds like some great workouts yesterday!!! I bet that abs workout was tough! And I KNOW CC was hard! Do let me know what you think of the new TF.

Roxie: How fun to do a Body Pump class!!! Let us know how it goes!

Hi Belinda!!! :)

Hey girls,

Just a quick check: Did Trisets LB today. Tomorrow I will take a rest day tomorrow (today was a scheduled rest day, did tomorrows's workout today;))

I will try to be back tomorrow night, after my husbands surgery! Thanks again for all the prayers! I am not looking forward to tomorrow:(

Good Evening,

Well the Body Pump thing didn't happen 2 minutes after one class ended the classroom was full and I was overwhelmed everyone knew what to do and I had no idea so I came home and did KCM's MD #1 I don't know why I think I can do the gym thing I am more comfortable in my basement. Sorry ladies. I watched a Turbo Kick class and the instructor was as good as Chalene.

Stats:
42 min
36 in the zone
129 min hr
164 max hr
233 cals burned.

Hi girls!;)

Oops! I forgot to check in until now. So, I'll just go ahead and check in now.

Here's today's workout:

Les Mills Pump- Pump & Shred= 48 Min
Met Value= 6.50
Calories burned= 426

I used #15 BB for warm up set, Legs track used #35 BB, Chest track used #20 BB, Back track used #30 BB, Squats & Lunge Track #35 BB, Shoulder track used #7 dbs.

Turbo Fire- Fire Starter Class= 37 Min
Met Value= 8.0
Calories burned= 404

Wow, Fire Starter Class was awesome and I was sweating buckets and breathless so no doubt it was a real workout. Chalean breaks down the moves and shows the form you need to use to really utilitize maximum muscle involvement which equals calorie burn, Yeah! It was a great workout and definitely worth the purchase and it was lower impact but there was someone showing high impact, and Allie from TF videos, demoing the low imact, Chalean was teaching the class without her usual high impact but it was still intense. I mean let me tell you I now know how to really do fire throws and man are they a killer ab move. I still feel those. So, I'd say the Turbo Fire Starter Pack is really great options for those that want something more from Turbo Fire and loved the full program from before. I really am loving this and there is just one more to try and that is TF Low HiiT 25, which I will be doing tomorrow. Lovin' the Pump and bringin' da FIYAH!:);)

Total Calories burned= 830:eek:

It was a superfun workout for me today. Now I'll do personals.

Roxie- Sorry, the gym experience with Pump class was not a positive one and made you feel intimidated. That should not happen. I've never had a gym class so I can't speak from experience. I'm with you on feeling more at home working out at home. Don't feel bad I bet I would have been in the same boat right there with you. You gave it a try, that's all anyone can do. Good for you for trying. On a brighter note you did get to come home and do KCMs MD which is great IMHOP. Bravo, for not letting the gymn thing leave you sour on workingout, YAY you went home and did a workout. ((Hugs)) that is awesome! WTG!!:)

Belinda- Nice job on doing Lower Body Tri Sets today, that is an awesome workout!:) I think your taking tomorrow off is a good idea since I think you said it was the day your DH will be having surgery. Yes, I'd be a wreck too and not able to even try to focus on anything else but being there for him if it were me and my DH. I'm sending you blessings and prayers ((Hugs));):)

Chris- Its always fun to revisit Cathe workouts after switching off for a while using different instructors, but that's what I do too its what I think keeps workingout fresh. Awesome job with Power Hour, that is a great workout and so much fun. I know its surprising how that short ab workout on the end gets ya good but it definitely does. Great job today, WTG girlfriend!!
Yes, I did love TF Fire Starter Class. IT was AWESOME, definitely worth the purchase and all throw many of the moves are used in TF full program but not necessarily put together this way. The choreography is different oh and the music is to die for. I know one of the songs was from Pink. Great beat and rhythm. Chalean does really show you how to execute the moves with great form and with maximum muscle engagement so you feel every muscle group and seriously feel it in the abs. Personally, I love that. She shows the moves at regular speed, then breaks it down stressing form and muscle engagement, then shows the class at regular speed. With two exceptions, her low impact modifier, allie, and High impact modifier arnoldo. Chalean herself is not doing the high impact nor low impact but is using the one the class is doing. Its really great and a definite must have if you love Turbo Fire and wanted a little something more with it. This is the stuff!;)

Debbie- Girl, that is some Total body workout you did today, just look at those weights. You go girlfriend! Nicely done with doing a short and sweet weight workout then doing some walking on the treadmill utilizing the incline and speed options. Excellent workout for you today, as always. WTG!!:)

That is it for me today girls, have a great evening and good nights rest. :);)
Extra Hugs and prayers for Belinda's DH and Belinda ((Hugs)) ;):)

Nora

Howdy girls!

Today was Low Impact Circuit. I did it all, except for abs, which I did yesterday. I usually don't use 2 risers, but I did today. Definitely boosts up the intensity!

I have to go get my license renewed at the DMV today. OMG, i dread it. At least DH is coming with me.

Belinda: Thinking good thoughts for you and your DH today!!!!! I know you must be worried sick, praying you all do fine and recover quickly!!

Roxie: oh my gosh, what a bummer about the gym!!! Although, I am not a gym person either. I love working out at home. I don't feel self conscious as I would in a gym , in a class. I even had a friend want to go for a run with me, and I'd just rather do it by myself. Isn't that bad? I'm set in my ways, I guess! I probably wouldn't mind taking a Turbo Kick class though!! What is MD?

Nora: You burned some MAJOR calories yesterday!!! Nora is BACK! Sounds like a fun TF workout! .. Glad you enjoyed it and don't regret your purchase. I will definitely keep it on the back burner for my next video purchase! Thanks for the review! ... I love Debbie's rotation this month, it's great that you can sub in with her generic breakdown. I hate to feel "tied down" to one workout every day.

Debbie: What are you up to today? is it cardio day? will check back later tos ee what you did!

Good Morning,

I didn't sleep well last night so I am really tired today. We went for our morning walk and then tonite if I can find the energy it will be C&W, I know I am not up for LIC. Tomarrow is my PT session which is really why I wanted to go to the gym in the first place and then I might hop on the Elliptical.

Chris-Muscle Definition I am definetly feeling it in the hamstrings today. I knew I shouldn't have signed up for this gym thing but the girl teaching Turbo Kick looked exactly like Chalene and she had the same energy.

Belinda-thinking good thoughts for you today.

Nora-thanks for the encouraging words don't know when I became such a wus.

Hi girls!;)

I just finished up the last of today's workouts, phew! The workouts are so bad its the having to do housework, errands, then discovered DH's computer won't allow it to go on internet or download anything, it crashed. I have had enough things happen with computers over the years I was able to recover it and solve the problem which took about six hours. Now its all fixed, Phew! I guess some where along the lines I learned to channel my inner computer geek enough to fix it, YAY me and YAY computer gods, the geek was with me today LOL!! Now, I just have to check on computer searches for possible endocrine system problems and rashes. My DH has an ubber case of hives and has been going on for nearly 2 months now. Night before last he came home from work with his face swollen and eyelids barely a slit, he even complained about having trouble talking and his throat feeling tight. Yikes, I took one look at him and informed him I was giving him a choice either I take him to the ER or to urgent care and to pick one because I'm driving. So, to make a long story short we spent a few hours there partly because he was given an IV of Methylprednisone (its a steroid) low dose to reduce the swelling and sunburn like redness and given something for fever via IV as well. They did take blood and ran a panel and took blood for a lupus test. Yesterday, he comes home swollen and itch from work and just wants to jump out of his skin because he's so itchy, red with the heat of sunburn etc... He is short tempered which DH isn't normally but is so miserable and irritated with this he can't help it. Today, he woke up very swollen, itchy, and still heated redness and hives as before. He did take 1 allegra and went to work and just took a pill form 4mg dose of methylprednisone today he's supposed to take 5 and taper from there the following days. To me this screams of a major auto immune problem which are hard to get a diagnosis on, ugh. So, I'll check the places like webmd, and the mayoclinic online see what I can find out. I just really want to find a solution to help DH and get him out of this misery A.S.A.P..

I know enough about me, so here's today's check in:

Turbo Fire- Low HiiT 25= 25 Min
Met Value= 7.50
Calories burned= 256
Oh man my quads, obliques, and abs are feeling it, big time but man that was so much darn fun and a challenge, which I love. Loving' the new FIYAH's!:D

Les Mills Pump-Hard Core ABS = 20 Min
Met Value= 5.0
Calories burned= 137

This may possibly tie or even over take Ab Ripper X as toughest abs workout ever. Oh YEAH!

Les Mills Pump- Flow= 20 Min
Met Value= 2.50
Calories burned= 68

This is a nice shorter yoga inspired stretching which is awesome after working the muscles so hard with lifting weights it does bring it back to balance nicely. I like that its shorter than most yoga type workouts and as a person with balance issues that is helpful.

Total calories burned= 461

That's it for me just now but I'll be back later for personals later. Hugs to Belinda and prayers for her DH with his surgery today. ;):)
