Crazy Strong and Loving It for September 3, 2009

I guess I'll get this one started today. My biceps are soooo sore from Tuesday - a lot in my forearms too. Today I am supposed to do legs (STS Disc 14). I'm really dreading it, but I know once I get going I'll be fine. Just need to keep talking it up in my head throughout the day! LOL.

Today was cardio and tomorrow starts my active recovery week. I think it's suppose to be active, anyways. I'll probably do some yoga and cardio next week. I'll take Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. Tomorrow starts our vacation. :eek:

Today I did a Steady State Pace on my treadmill. Jammed to some awesome tunes and got my HR to around 130 bpm and held onto that. Was sweating like crazy.

Then I did the Ab work from Step, Jump & Pump. Love that one but its really hard to do when a kitten is attacking my arm. Little shit. I also did the stretch from SJ&P.

Hi Girls!!

I have CPR class at 10:30, so when I get home I'll do LIS/Shoulders, Calves, Core (what a weird combo??).

Heather: I know exactly what you mean about dreading it, and then it being ok once you get into it! I almost always feel that way about lower body workouts.

: WOO HOO! vacation!! I forget, are you going somewhere? I love running and getting into my music. I did that yesterday at the park, even though my head kept me from totally enjoying it. I have a feeling I make weird faces and bop my head around with some songs, people probably think I'm pretty strange. I might even let out a few lyrics! LOL!... Also LOL at your kitty attacking you during abs! :eek:
 
Good Morning,

Looks like a lower body day for most of us. I am doing 4ds Lower Body and then KB abs. I will do GS leg warm up didn't do a warm up for Back and Bis and I was regretting it.

Heather-all wt days are a dread for me.

Chris-that is a weird combo

Debbie-good workout and good job getting those abs done.
 
Debbie-I know from your recent checkin that you can relate to this since I stopped obsessing about calories the wt. is starting to come off and I am seeing major changes in my body.
 
It's so funny thinking about running to the music you enjoy. I typically use a running podcast that is sort of techno/trance based on beats per minute. This helped me to stop bouncing around - beebopping along basically! I find that when I put in the music I like, I start bouncing around, bobbing my head along and fighting the urge to sing out loud. My form goes to hell basically!

Debbie - I have 2 dogs that think they need to help me stretch so I completely understand your dilemma. Hope you enjoy your active rest week (and yes, it's active) AND your vacation!

Chris - I haven't figured out why she has calves with shoulders rather than on the leg workout? Very confusing, but maybe there is some logic there.

Chris - We will probably ride to Put-in-Bay one day and up to Vermilion. It's beautiful out there near the lake. Other than that, we will be working on our house. LOL on you running outside with your earphones on! I know I sing out loud when I do that!

Roxie - Thanks about the ab work, you know how I am about that. Thanks for keeping me in check with that. And good for you on losing weight! Sometimes I think we put our bodies through so much with diet and exercise that once in a while it needs some normalacy. It's working for me as well!

Heather - Thanks for letting me know its active recovery. I will make sure and do something next week.
 
Hi everyone. I did 4DS bootcamp this morning and will be doing Pack Max this afternoon! We're going to Outer Banks on Saturday and I haven't even started to get ready so I've got alot to do.

Debbie: Your bike rides sound great, and relaxing too!.... I tried Cardio Coach on my run before, and even though it kicked my ass and I kind of liked it, I just have to go back to my music. It makes me happy!

Heather: I don't think the music screws up my form too much. It usually makes me sprint more, depending on the song, or motivates me to get up hills/stairs even more!

Roxie: Cool on you losing weight and not focusing on counting calories!!! I wish I could do that. For now, I think I need structure. But some day...

Bev: Oh! Another vacation! Sounds nice!!! But the packing certainly is the downfall to vacationing. I know what you mean...
 
Oh, you are so totally right about the type of music. I like hip-hop dancey stuff though so I beebop a lot! LOL.

Well THAT explains it, Heather! LOL!. Most I have for making me run fast is hard rock/heavy metal (Rob Zombie and Ozzy Osborne! LOL!) No be-bopping with those guys! !!! :eek:

I'm still feeling a little weak from the after effects of yesterday. I did workout today though. Here's what I did:

Body Max 2 Premix-Cardio Blast= 62 min.
Calories burned= 635

I did get a little dizzy when I got to warm, so I did need to take breaks and my knees were not happy so I had to take breaks for that reason too! I had to modify alot so I could do it because of my knees. Oh well, I did workout so, I'm happy.

STS Ab Circuits-Med ball abs= 10 Minutes
Calories burned= 61

That's it for me today. Time to go eat breakfast and shower. I hope everyone is having a great day!!!:)

Holy cow - I may not be able to walk tomorrow! Finished STS Legs Disc 14 and I am jello. I went a good deal heavier on almost all of the exercises than I did the first round of doing STS. I probably did closer to 75-80% of my 1 RM for those rather than the 70% that it calls for. Good thing tomorrow is a rest day. I did add on the extended stretch so maybe that'll help.

Nora - good job on that workout. you amaze me!

Chris - I'd say Rob Zombie or Ozzie would certainly not be causing anyone to be bouncing along happily! LOL The first play list I made myself for running include Nine Inch Nails and Rage Against the Machine! My DH thought I was nuts!

Just finished dinner. Now its off to take the dog for a walk and then off to school tonight.

I just finished 4ds lower body and my legs are shaking. I couldn't do the core work TTOM started this morning and I am not feeling very well tonite.

Today I did Plyo X -love this! I can't wait for Shock Cardio - actually, I can't wait until I finally cave and get STS w/ the plyo workouts. That'll be good times!
Nora, I'm glad you are pacing yourself with your workouts, yet still getting them in. Such focus. Quite honestly, I'm humbled by your dedication. My hats off to you.
Debbie, I googled that Put-in-Bay - gorgeous!!! Will you guys have to take the ferry across? Enjoy yourselves!
