Crazy Strong and Loving It for October 22, 2009

Had a very busy day yesterday. I forgot I had another PT appointment; this time he had me do some exercises to strengthen my core and back. Then I had a massage on my lower back and hip. I felt weird; most of my butt was exposed. LOL! I guess that is the only way he can massage the area that is hurting. The good news, I am doing all my core exercises correctly. All the exercises he has me doing, I have to tighten my stomach and squeeze my bottocks for all exercises, which is working your core/back muscles. He also showed me hamstring/back stretches which I don’t have to bend over. I learned a lot in 1 hour. I have another PT appointment today.

I also took my dogs for a walk last night and did more exercises for my back.

Today I will do cardio at to the gym. BBL to report my workout.

Have a great day and workout!

Hi ladies,

I am done with my workout, I ended up doing the TreadClimber. I traveled 3.25 miles and burned 660 cal. Needed that after last night crap I ate:p

Heather – how are your legs feeling today? My plan is to do 3 full body/3 cardio workouts a week. See how that goes! If I get bored maybe I will throw in a circuit wo.? That’s a great idea, to do one of the floorwork segments from PLB or B&G. Thanks!

Chris - thanks for asking about my back! My back was hurting after my run, but it hurts even when I walk? Don’t get it! What are your plans for recovery week? Nice job with disc 12 yesterday.

Debbie - I couldn’t find anything on line either about deadlifts! Deadlifts are a big NO for me. As always, awesome job on your workout. Look at the bright side, at least your are done with Meso 3 soon. I don’t think I ever get through those workouts soon. How is your migraine today? Hope you feel better.

Rockie – glad you feeling better.

Nora – thanks for your advice yesterday. I am not allowed to bend over at all, my lower/hip hurts. I do have Cathe’s tubing/bands. The PT showed me a few exercises I can do without bending over, I felt those big time. Imax 3 is a tough one. Awesome job girl!

BBL! Enjoy your workout and day!

Hi ladies. It's a rainy, dreary Thursday here. It's not super cold at least, but it sure isn't a motivating kind of day! Not exactly sure what I'm going to do today. I may do LIC or Cardio Fusion.

Nora - way to go with Imax 3. That is one of my favs, especially for a top notch calorie burn! I really like the hi/low mix from Hardcore Challenge. It combines Lowmax and Imax 3 segments plus drills from Kickmax. I think having the different workouts combined makes the time go faster. I haven't done the other 2 premixes on that DVD oddly enough. Funny how you get stuck on one thing!

Belinda - good job with your workout. Glad the PT is helping too.

Chris - I bet you're running at least 5 miles. That's awesome. No wonder your quads are sore! I agree with Nora about epsom salt. I pretty much bought that stuff by the truck loads when I danced.

Heather

It is soooo nice out and is supposed to be in the low 70's, I'm sooooo going out for a run! Will try to make it interval, and do up and down the stairs more. I'm going to do abs too.

My quads were hurting bad last night, like a burning feeling. I got kind of sceered I was going to have the 3 day DOMS I got last week . So I took a few Advils before bed. I'm not sure if that's what did it, but I don't have major DOMS in my legs today. Just still a little sore in ,my quads.

I'm going to go and throw in an ab workout either from CIRCUITS or COREMAX.

I'm already thinking ahead for Saturday. I have to do papers/collecting with Zach in the morning, and then take Alex to a bday party after lunch. I'm thinking the most I can do is a 30 minute cardio, if that.

BBL!!!!

Good Morning,

Didn't get a workout in last nite SIL decided to sit an visit when she picked the baby up and then my stomach started to hurt again I think my sour cream I bought Saturday was bad. Tonite I will do Pilates Sculpt and PM Yoga if time allows. No time for personals.

Today was cardio and I'm still trying to get over the migraine I had yesterday. Woke up feeling like I had a hangover. I really wanted to just stay in bed but I got up and decided to do Amy's Kickbox Surge. Ended up having a pretty good workout, I like this one, it's fun and it has excellent music in it. I did the first 3 kb & surge combos and then the kb section from the 4th combo. Then I did her Ab Refining section. I like that, but wish it was a bit longer. I almost did it over again but ran out of time.

HR STATS for Entire workout:
61 minutes total
7 minutes below zone
20 minutes in zone
36 minutes above zone
(which surprises me)
479 calories burned (which also suprised me)

I didn't really feel like I gave it my all, I'm trying to be really careful with my left hip tightness, but the stats show that I did very well. Happy with this!

Haven't had a chance to read the rest of yesterday's thread or what everyone wrote today. I'm crazy busy right now, I'll be back later to post personals!

Great weight work today, Debbie! I'm surprised you don't like Meso 3 so much. For some reason , I thought that's how you usually worked with heavier weights. I actually liked the stretches in Meso 3, because I'd get all my quipment all ready, and plus clean and straighten out the room (my kids play in the same room).

Chris - Yes, this is how I usually like to train. But with my own music and such, it's not boring. Listening to Cathe babble on and on drives me nuts and it seems like the rest periods drag on.

Debbie- Awesome STS Meso 3, Week 1, Disc 27, Shoulders, Biceps & Triceps workout. I know sometimes it can feel a bit boring but I just push on through. How's your hip and shoulder? I hope they aren't bugging you.

Here's the workout:

Imax 3= 60 min
Man! That was tough!! I definitely need to practice that one more. I had to modify some of the impact jumping moves since my knees are hurting so I listened to my body as Cathe says. Calories burned= 621

CTX- Kickbox Abs Only= 12 Min
Calories burned= 82

That's it for me today! Have a restful night girls and I'll see you at tomorrow's check in, Hugs!:);)

Nora

Nora - Wow, great workouts! IMAX 3 is so high impact. I like the workout but my body hates it. LOL! I especially love the step sections. You burned some great calories there! And I love CTX KB abs. That is a great ab workout.

My shoulder and hip still bothers me. I'm thinking my shoulder will bother me forever unless I get it looked at and taken care of. My hip, I'm hoping it's just a matter of time.

Belinda - My headache is almost gone. Nice job on the treadmill work today!

Heather - It's suppose to start raining here today too. I'm sick of rain. But I guess it's better then snow!

Chris - I'm having a heck of a time reading your posts. For some odd reason they come through in very small print. Weird. Hope you have a great run!

Roxie - You sure are having a heck of a time with you stomach lately. Hope it gets better soon!

Hi girls -

Belinda, I'm glad you're having good sessions with your PT. Sounds like you're on track.

Roxie, maybe you're allergic to your family?!?!?! Feel better....

Nora, how do you do it? Nice job on Imax3. I only have parts of that workout on HE.

Chris, sounds like another runner's high is on tap for you today, eh? And I do like the colorful type on your posts, but the font got a lot smaller, too. It's reminding me that I'm getting old! So stop! I had to make sure I got abs in today, too.

Debbie, yuck on the migraine hangover. Glad you got a decent workout in. Did you ever get one of those foam rollers for stretching? Maybe that would get into that hip a little deeper? I don't have a roller, but just a thought..?? Easy on the benching, too, Hercules. Watch your shoulder!

Heather, hope you got motivated to do some cardio. I'll bet you get in a good workout. Sometimes on days like that, I just spend time catching up on abs and stretching.

Today I did Disc 6 Legs. Love these workouts. The time goes by much faster when you don't know the routine! I also did AbCircuits stability ball abs. It was about 80 min/417 calories.

See ya later - enjoy your afternoon!

Wendy - No, I never did get the foam roller. I need too, I'm sure it will help. Hey, I rode yesterday! It was PERFECT out! I loved it. Should have rode into work today but I thought it was going to rain. Probably only a couple more riding days ahead. :(

Nice job on Disc 6!!! I really love the leg workouts in STS. And I usually HATE leg work!

Wendy-you are too funny but I think alot of it has to do with stress that involves my family and I drink way to much diet soda and that has got to stop plus I take Tylenol on a daily basis and that has got to stop to.

Ok, I decided to work extra today and take off tomorrow. Soooo, today is going to be a rest day (which I really do need if I'll be honest with myself). Tomorrow I will do PUB + ME shoulder, tricep, bicep. I may do 30 mins of Imax 3 as well for some cardio and legs.

Roxie - it's that stress thing again isn't it!!! When I was at my other job, I was pretty much starting every day off with 3-4 Ibuprophen if I didn't already have a migraine. It'll certainly take it's toll on you. Take care of yourself!!!!

Heather

Needed to take out some frustration I found DHs hiding place in his car for his cigarettes and I was pissed so I did KCMs KB and Shape Abs.

Stats:
30 min
27 in the zone
159 min hr
186 max hr
243 cals burned.

Abs
5 min
0 in the zone
114 min hr
122 max hr
22 cals burned.

Had some trouble with a couple of the combos so I didn't burn as much as I needed to.

Heather-I would love to have a new job the bosses are driving me crazy and DH is stressing me out to the max. I am trying not to take Tylenol today and I have had more water than pop.

Hi girls!;)

Happy almost Friday, Phew!

iFit Card- Jillian Michaels Level 1, week 1, Prg 3= 20 min Power Walk

Distance= 1.16 Miles
Calories burned= 177
BPm's=121,125,134,135,137,94

STS Meso2, Disc#19, Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps= 69 Minutes
Calories burned= 536 Approx.

Belinda- Awesome job on the Physical therapy learning exercises to stengthen the back and core, that is so important.:) Its great to learn stretches too that are helpful and don't hurt your back. I thought I'd mention it the other day about Cathe's tubing/resistance bands to use instead of weights for any exercises the PT deems unsafe or unwise for your back, we gotta take care of you kiddo!;):) Bravo on the treadclimber! That sounds like a really good cardio workout without the impact, good stuff!;)

Heather- I know what you mean about dreary weather, I live in Oregon, the nations captial of it, LOL!!! Sounds like some nice workout options with Cardio Fusion or LIC. How's your legs feeling today?

Chris- Ok, Heather and I are not feeling the good weather vibe and have no sympathy for you weather wise.:p I'm glad you didn't have a repeat of 3 day DOMS this time. Maybe make a mental note about the advil after a killer workout that night before you go to bed to avoid DOMS the next day. I'll try to remember that trick too. ;) Good for you on going for a run outside. Lately I can't run on the treadmill. I did it monday and my back and knees are not happy with me since. I refuse to not use the treadmill so I did iFit power walking. I still love my Cardio coach though, I guess I'll have to walk those with a little light jogging mixed in rather than a full fledged run.
It sounds like a busy saturday for you looking ahead a mom's job is never done. :p I just wanted to suggest that Kelly Coffey Meyer had some fun 30 min to fitness workouts that are great if your in a time crunch and still want to get a workout in. :)

Roxie- I hope your feeling better today. If your up to it enjoy the pilates workout. Take it easy!;)

Debbie- yet another awesome workout for you today. Amy's Kickbox Surge is a lot of fun. It always takes me a while to get her choreography down, then if I haven't done that one of hers in a while its like starting over again. LOL!! No matter though, because its always full of energy and fun! She always makes me into a puddle of sweat at the end of her workouts.:p
Take care with your hip, I know somethings seem to take longer than others to heal. Congrats on a great workout today!:) I agree with you about Imax 3, I love it, but my body doesn't like all the impact. My knees were so not happy with me, ugh! So, I don't do that workout as often as I did previously. I tend to gravitate towards Imax 2 and do that one more often because it seems easier on my knees impact wise.

Wendy- You did STS Disc 6 Legs and AbCircuits stability ball abs. How are you liking STS? I thought it was surprisingly fun and I was stunned at the increase in strength and definition that I got. Its good stuff, but thats so true of any of Cathe's workouts. Great job!!!:D

That's if for me today, I'm off to hit the shower and get something to eat. Have a great restful night ladies seeya all tomorrow.;)

Hugs!:)

Nora
