Holy Mother Of DOMS I'm sore! I am STILL sore in my chest and tris from Sunday, outer thighs on Monday, and biceps won't straighten from yesterday. I may or may not have back DOMS, I can't move enough to tell LOL!

This morning I was very rudely awakened by one of our alarm sensors going out. I really didn't have the energy for step, so I decided to try Amy Bento's Kickbox Xtreme. I got it via netflix to try. I tried part of it on vacation and thought (key word) I'd do the whole thing this morning. Ok, first 30 minutes flew by, but my HR was never very high. Then it just seemed to go on and on and on and...you get it. I was starting to just get annoyed after 50 minutes and there was still another combo/interval to get through. My calorie burn for 50 mins was only 424. I have tried to like Amy's workouts. But they just don't do it for me. Even Cathe's easiest workouts are better calorie-burners. Maybe I am supremely biased. DH actually called me a Cathe Traitor when he saw me with the Amy DVD :eek:

Anyway, hope everyone's day is getting off to a good start!
 
Today was STS Meso 1, Week 3, Disc 9, Legs. Had a great workout and my ankle didn't give me any trouble except for calf raises. I had to do those without weights. Other then that, I was good to do.

Oh, and I keep meaning to mention, why do the two men use ridiculously low weights for this series? Seriously... Talk about wimps.

Squat Lunge Sequence 8/4
One Leg Sit 'n Stands - 12#/15 reps each leg
Lateral Step Ups - 15#/15 reps each leg
Wide Stance Deadlifts - 20's/15 reps
Side Lunge onto 6" High Step - 15#/15 reps
45 Degree Lunge - 20's/15 reps each leg
***I don't know why she calls these 45 degree lunges. It looks like they are doing front lunges to me.
Narrow Stance Front Squats - 25's/15 reps
Static Low End Lunge =15's/12 reps each leg
***These buned. These kind of remind me of the low motion lunges in Gym Style.
Plie Squats - 30#/24 reps
Wide Stance Deadlifts - 25's/15 reps
One Leg Slide Back Lunge - 10's/16 reps each leg
***These are hard. You slide back and do a lunge then put the weight on the floor and come back up, then you go down and pick the weight back up. It's hard and I'm pretty sure my form is horrible.
Side Slide Lunge -15#/16 reps each leg
***Same thing, go down and put the weight down and come up, then go back down and pick the weight up. This one isn't as hard as the previous exercise.
Front Lunge - 15's/15 reps each leg
Squats - 30's/16 reps
Calf Raises - BW/40 reps
Leg Press - 20#/15 reps each leg
Stiff Leg Deadlift on Platform - 15's/15 reps
Wall Squats Double Leg - 5's/8 long reps
Elevated One Leg Deadlift - 25#/12 reps

Didn't do the bonus floor work. I hate floor work.

Hope M1 D2 was good for you, Belinda. Maybe do a good stretch later if you have a few. I meant to do one last night, but I got into mindless eating. B.A.D. me.

Today I'm helping out at my youngest son's class from 9:30-11. So my workout will be later, when I get back. Which is good, because I'm feeling still so tired/fatigued. The DC trip really screwed me up , i think! :eek: I just want to lay down and sleep.

Roxie: NICE job on workouts last night. TJ Cardio Party is a great fun sweaty cardio. And it does have a ton of core in it. My core is always pretty sore after doing a CP!

Nora: I'm getting the basic package for Turbo Fire too. I hate to spend that amount of money on it as it is, But I *NEED* to have it! LOL!. We'll have to comparen notes when we have it. ... NICE workouts yesterday! I've never done Circuit Blast. I should try it one day soon. I like the GS timesavers!! A new way to use GS for me too.... And my thigh and all my legs, are feeling pretty good today! Phsewww!!

Debbie: Oh man, I hate falling or tripping during step> I can't even tell you how many times I've "caught myself" before falling or tripping. I have fallen flat on my butt a few times, as well! Glad your ankle is better though, and didn't hurt it worse.

Heather: OUCH on the DOMS! Maybe an epsom bath would be in order. But when, right? ... Some instructors just don't click with me either. Though there are others I really enjoy, almost as much as Cathe. I like Mindy Mylrea a lot. She's funny and quirky. Oh and Chalene from Turbo Jams. She's right up there with Cathe, actually. Different style all together, but I love her!

better go, gotta get ready to get to my son's class...

OH! My workout today is going to be Premix #14 from KPC & L+G. it's KPC drills, plus standing leg work + abs!

Debbie - good job with yours. Too funny about the mens' weights. I always wondered if they were somehow heavier weights but smaller - like a different set???

Roxie - woohoo - cardio AND abs last night!

Nora - glad you're feeling better. Another great workout.

Chris - have fun with yours this evening. Love KPC (obviously). I need to check out your other instructor suggestions too. Wonder if they're on netflix yet...

Morning, ladies! Heather - I had to laugh, I am feeling the exact same Holy-DOMS issue you are today! My chest STILL hurts like WHOA from Sunday's STS workout it's insane! And my butt is killing me from the STS legs workout I did on MONDAY (same one you did today, Debbie). I love DOMS though, so I'll keep plugging along, no pain no gain, right? ;) I took an awesome spin class this morning - seriously was DRIPPING sweat from every part of my body by the end of class. Awesome feeling, I must say :) Now if only work didn't get in the way or I would've had time for some abs - Roxie's gonna get mad at me ;)

Heather - seriously, agree - I do NOT like the Amy Bento workouts, she just doesn't do it for me and I hate to feel like I wasted time on a workout that didn't leave me feeling rather spent (ala Cathe). Nobody is as good as her, seriously! Though I'm wondering if Shaun T/Insanity might compare cardio-wise?? I'm still so curious to try that one.

Debbie - I have to laugh, I TOTALLY agree about the guys - are they really that wimpy on legs that they have to use totally light weights?? I don't get it. Love that workout btw - trisets rock.

Belinda - STS today, are you loving being back in the STS groove?

Roxie - hope your work day is going better than yesterday, so far it's going ok over here, but the day did just start so we'll see ;)

Nora - I read your post from last night. I have an upright bike. I used to use a recumbent at the gym every once in a while but I prefer the upright.

Heather - you must really be sore if you can't tell if you have back DOMS!!

Debbie - must have felt good to work your legs without any ankle pain.

Chris - have fun at your son's class today!!

This morning I did CCV8, challenges 1 & 3. Last night I ended up doing HiiT 30/30 and CTX chest, which I'm definetly feeling today...:cool:

And no, I did not take my own advice and play hookie today. Which I'm seriously regretting right about now...:(

That's exactly how I feel - annoyed about the 50 minutes spent trying it out again. Ugh. I really want to try the Insanity cardio too. Just don't want to spend the $$$$

Remember how we were all talking about how much we hate our jobs? Well we just had the electric company in here telling us they will cut our power if my loser boss doesn't pay them. WTF??? Who does that? How do you keep a business running if you don't pay your freaking bills? And believe me, we have the money to pay the bills. I want out of here so bad I can't stand it anymore. :mad:

Belinda - Nice on the soreness. I haven't been too sore this week yet. Not sure why? Great going on your workout!

Heather - Wow on your soreness! I love when my biceps are sore. Maybe you should take it a bit easy today?? And I don't think the guys have a different set. I think they are just wimps! LOL!!!

Chris - I've tripped up on my step several times int he past, too. But this one was bad. I've never just completely fell like I did that day. Scary. I'm actually shocked I didn't break something. Have a great workout!

Jess - I hope my legs are sore tomorrow. I haven't been getting extremely sore so far with this round of STS.

Melissa - Nice job on CCV8! I so miss my CC workouts. I'm dying to do one. With my hip flexor problem and now my ankle, I'm not sure when I'll be able to do them again. :(

Roxie - I am mostly Meso but have endo tendancies. That means I build muscle easily but also have the tendency to gain fat quickly. So as long as I keep a good mix of heavy weight training and some cardio days I'm usually good to go. I would think you would be about the same.
 
Debbie - that totally sucks. That's nuts. I did work very very briefly for someone who ran her business like that. Collectors called every day for the 3 wks I was there. She was a total nutcase though LOL. I hope you find something else soon!!!
 
I think some of us must work or haved worked with the same type of boss. We get collection call quite often and then we can't get what we order because we are on credit hold, somtimes we don't have phones and the gas company has to come in a collect or shut us off. The landlord comes in every month and collects his checks. They have been in business 30 years don't know how and he is 67 years old you would think he knew better.

I'm not feeling well at all today. I have no energy, sleepy, both knees hurt, I can barely walk, and my balance is semi exists. In other words, Ugh!

Here's today's workout:

KPC-Premix-KB Cardio Drills plus KB Strength & Circuit + Abs= 82 Min
Calories burned= 728

This was a fun premix I'd never done before. I couldn't give it my best effort since I felt like hell and had little energy or strength to do it but I got it done.

I will try to make it back for personals after I try to rest. I'm off to shower and rest now. I'll try to come back later for personals, I hope everyone is having a great day.;)

Heather – WTG, on your DOMS! I can’t get myself to buy/try other workout instructors; I guess our standers are high!

Debbie – glad your ankle didn't give you any trouble. Still take it easy. The men in STS make me laugh every time I see them, their faces/form and the baby weights they pick up. I lift heavier than they do, lol! Unless their muscle are SO HUGE that the weight that they use look really small, lol! WTG, on your weight workout today! I can’t believe your boss doesn’t pay the electric bill? That’s crazy!

Chris – I usually try to get a good stretch in after my weight workout, didn’t happened today. I had one busy day today. I feel your pain, being tired. Did you get your workout in? Let me know how you liked that premix, I never done that one before!

Jolene – I just finished my first round of STS in May. Love STS! Count me to the list of DOMS, lol! Love it! Awesome job, on your workout.

Roxie, Heather and Debbie – sorry about work! (((HUGS))) Hope things will turn around for you guys soon.

Roxie – nice job with CLX Burn Circuit 2 today. Did you get those abs in?
