Crazy Strong and Loving It for Jul 27, 2009

Patti - maybe we need to come up with a rotation to start together...

Heather: I would say this past year has been my year to "get" lifting. Before I did mostly cardio or at most 1 circuit per week. So it's been fun to get to know a lot more about it on here and through reading.

Ah, Debbie, thanks! Duh, totally forgot about S&H. I have it and have yet to do it. Guess it's time. I'll look at PS- I did the leg wo last week and noted that she actually gave rests. :) I would like to say I would do it without DVDs but I like them- motivates me. I'll look through some of your old rotations too- I KNOW you gotta have some muscle growth ones in there. :D

Patti - did you see my workout from Saturday? LOL We'll either help each other tremendously or kill each other! And by "kill" I mean push each other to the edge (or over).

Heather

Heather: That would be fun! I'm up for it, but I'm a bit Type A, I'm warning you. :p

Recipe for Roast Beef & Watermelon Salad

Here's antoher recipe from Oxygen. It sounds like a strange combination but I've been eating this for lunch for the past few days and I love it!!!

4 cups arugula (I used spring mix)
1 lb watermelon, cut into chunks
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
4 oz fat free feta cheese
16 oz cooked roast beef, sliced
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 tsp dried parsley

Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl.
In a smaller bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients to make dressing.
Pour dressing over salad and toss to coat.

Checking in -

No extra vitamins yesterday, just pure hormonal rage. I managed to work through it!!! I ended up having to take/make 2 phone calls yesterday between RS and PLB, so my HRM said 113 min. But I think when I added up Cathe's times per the workout guide, it was 85 min of work, plus set up and break down time..so 1 1/2 hours? It really felt good. And you know, when you're feeling that way, you just keep going with it!
I need to check the rotation, but I'm thinking its back today. And probably abs. So I need to get upstairs and get to it.
Today was my last day of work before vacation. We're headed to Colorado for my husband's HS reunion (of course it's scheduled the SAME weekend as the RT!! - have fun Patti!!) We leave in 2 days, so my check-ins may be lacking.
Good job Roxie on your weight loss. And I'm glad you're feeling better, Chris!
Have a great afternoon everyone!
Cheers!

Bev: I want Insanity but I just can't do it right now. I have way too many workouts that I want/need to do first. I think I'll eventually get it, but won't use it as designed. I can't imagine not lifting for 60 days. Are you getting it?? I didn't see that recipe, but looks good. Did you just buy roast beef lunch meat or make something in a crock pot?

Wendy: LOL at hormonal rage! Have fun at the reunion- wish you were going on the RT instead!

Heather: Yes, I saw that. :) I think you might be right re: pushing each other over the edge but that's OK with me! I will look into Debbie's old ones and see what I can find...

Ok, ended up doing 45 mins of Imax 3, some of the exercises from the standing B&G (wanted some glute work) and then GS biceps (repeated per Debbie's rotation). My biceps are screaming right now.

I'll do cardio and abs only tomorrow.

Patti - Looking forward to finding a rotation to do together. This will be fun! Maybe we can cut and paste some of the rotations that are out there to find the ideal one.

Going to catch up on Big Brother now!

Have a good evening everyone
Heather
