Crazy Strong and Loving It for Jul 24, 2009

Hi girls,

My last post for today! It's almost bed time for me! LOL!

Heather, I hate going places and they don’t even have anything for me to eat! You would think they had healthy food choices? Do you make your own hummus? I do, I love it! The only bad thing is, I can’t stop eating it!

Wendy, miss you! Glad you still keep up with your workouts and some good ones on top!

Patti, congratulation on your first CC! That’s fantastic! Before you know it, you will own them all!

Good afternoon or good night. I will be back in the morning!

Belinda - yes, I just started making my own. Got a tip to sub plain yogurt for the tahini too. Can't tell the difference. I use one can of chickpeas and one can of cannellini (b/c they're creamier). Then the usual suspects like fresh lemon juice, olive oil, salt/pepper to taste. You can add just about any flavorings you like to that base too. Last time I added some roasted red bell peppers to it. I had some fabulous jalapeno hummus when we were in Florida a couple of months ago.

Hi girls,
Heather, I hate going places and they don’t even have anything for me to eat! You would think they had healthy food choices? Do you make your own hummus? I do, I love it! The only bad thing is, I can’t stop eating it!

Heather, this is how I make mine! It's low fat and so good! I do have to try yours, love that stuff! I can't find cannellini beans anywhere! All I can find are white beans!:p

The hummus recipe was really easy:

1 C. Low Sodium canned Chickpeas (rinse and drain well)
2 garlic cloves
1 Tbsp Sesame seeds
2 Tbsp 100% orange juice ( I used a fresh squeezed orange and ate the pulp! )
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
1/8 tsp cumin
2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 Tbsp freash parsley, chopped ( or 1 Tbsp dried)

grind/chop all ingredients in a blender or small food processor
pure'e until smooth

This makes 10 2-Tbsp servings.

Use for dipping fresh veggies into or spread on pita and add fresh lettuce, tom, diced carrots etc for a quick sandwich on the go.

ENJOY! This recipe came from the Fall 2008 Clean-Eating Magazine pg.85

Hey again...

I somehow felt a tiny bit better and did the Timesaver Premix of ME. I don't have a headache so much, but feel really dizzy and lightheaded. I guess it's good the headache is gone! ME was tough! I'm not sure what they cut out to make it a "timesaver" because it seemed all the exercises were there!?!

Belinda: Good workout today! Sorry about the picnic. I hate when there's nothing for "me" too and I understand your irritibility!! I've made my own hummus too, it's so good! I use the cannelli beans too. haven't done that in a long time, I should do it again....

Patti: Good weight workout today! ...The first time I did CC , I did it out at the park. I don't do the TM, so it's my only option. It was fun, but I like my music better and usually always choose that. I need to go back to CC though. I think I have 3 of them on my iPod! ...Thanks for the well wishes. I hate that I'm having a day like this when I had 2 light/rest days already. but I did get in something, so i don't feel HORRIBLY bad.

Karen: Yay for Plyo Legs!!! Tough one, but yep, you feel great when you'er done!!

Bev: Yes, LL is tough, but another one you feel good when you're done. Oh, I thought you were going to the RT this year. Your mini-RT get together sounds good though! Very cool to have Cathe friends to get to gether with!

Heather: Way to go on getting that run in today!!!

Roxie: good eats and workout planned for today. I think maybe you should ditch the diet pills, sound like they're not so good for you.... Ohno! Hope your headache goes away! Try eating and taking some Tylenol. PB is a great calorie booster! Hummus and crackers..YUM!!

Debbie: good call on starting a rest week! holy cow, that leg thing doesn't sound good. Nice stretching and yoga this week!! Cool on starting StS next. I bet you'll love it. You can always cut out a week or add a week to make the rest week work for you.

Wendy:
Thanks for the well wishes. Hope you had a good workout today, ...which one did you do? ... Sounds like you're doing great though and feeling better?

I can't believe it's 4 o'clock! Yikes! I'm such a bum today!!!

Hi girls~:)

Happy T.G.I.F.!!!!

Here's what I did today for my workout:

CTX-LL plus SJP ABS= 49 min
Calories burned= 444

Debbie- Hugs to you!!!! I know this will be a tough weekend for you going to get your dad's ashes. I know what you mean about feeling burned out sometimes with workingout. So, are you getting STS Strength? Or is that STS Cardio? or did you mean both? I really loved STS Strength and I kept thinking the whole time doing it that you love the heavy lifting in it. I'm sure your 1 Rep Max is seriously butt kickin' at least for me it would be. I aspire to lift what you and cathe can, one day anyways.... Hang in there kiddo, Hugs!!!;)

I hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying their workouts... I'm getting excited about STS Cardio:eek:!! I can't wait... It should prove interesting to put both STS Strength and Cardio together for doing workouts, wow!! I can't quite get my mind around how awesome that will be.

Have a great Friday Evening ladies!!!;):)

Hugs!:)
