Crazy Strong and Loving It for Jul 22, 2009

Morning,

I am done with my workout:D Time flies with this workouts:p which is a good thing! LOL! Can't wait for leg day on Friday!

I have to go grocery shopping, I will be back later!

Happy Hump day!

Good Morning!

I'm up way too early finishing my "prep". Lovely. Can't wait until this is just a bad memory and PRAY I won't have to do it for another 5 years.

Belinda: Sounds like you're liking STS! Must feel good to get back to it. Did you end up starting last time at all?

Nora: You are even more amazing with YOUR workouts considering how crappy you feel !! It must be hard to push yourself so hard. You are inspiration!!

To everyone else: Happy Working Out today! Can't wait to read what everyone does and be envious. I'll be back in it tomorrow!! I'm debating on doing either Kickmax (with the lower body work) or a suggestion from a friend, Plyo Legs without the weight work, just the blasts and then a run... now THAT would give me a good leg workout!

Today was LIC. I didn't get up early enough to finish the whole thing though. I cut the third circuit a little short so that I could do the abs and stretch at the end. (I need it!) I think tomorrow is a rest day...still debating about taking it tomorrow or Sunday. The in laws are coming this weekend and I might want to take the rest day then instead...I'll see how I feel tomorrow morning. (I almost wanted to bury myself in the covers this morning...but got up in the end.) Did I tell everyone that I hate shoulder presses...oh, and leg presses too....maybe just presses in general. lol

Alright...back to work for me...

Chris - Good luck today!

Morning! I did IMAX 2 and then followed it with one of Cathe's stretches from Total Body Stretching. I have to take Max to the derm this morning for cracking skin (ouch!) so I thought I would get everything done early.

Good luck today Chris! I hope this is it for you too. I had my first mammogram this year and was happy not to have to go back for another 5 years. :)

Karen: Hey, you got up and did it! Good for you for doing it and for cutting the time so you could take the stretch- you gotta be nice to yourself.

Belinda: I love the DOMS from meso 1- enjoy. :)

Hi Nora! I hope you're feeling better today- just wanted you to know I think of you and enjoy reading your end of the day posts.

Gotta go, BBL!

Today was yoga and I did the YogaX workout from the P90X series.

WOW!

I loved it! Very good instruction from Tony and he didn't get on my nerves like he does in Ab Ripper.

I only had time to do about an hour and ten minutes. I stopped at Yoga Belly 7. I really really want to do Yoga Belly. I will somehow get it in this week.

My body is tingling. I could do most of the poses except for Crane. I just cannot balance or hold myself up on my elbows. I can't even fathom how that is done. Frog was difficult, too, but I could somewhat get into that position.

I had to laugh when we were doing Cobbler pose and Tony goes, "I recommend foot spray." LOL! I actually laughed when I heard him say that.

Very good yoga workout, I think almost better then Bryan Kest, and that is saying alot. I enjoyed and can't wait to do it again!

Chris - Good luck! I'll be thinking of you today.

Belinda - I'm glad to hear the STS workouts go fast. I am starting the rotation soon.

Got up and did Imax 3 this morning. Had a hard time keeping my HR up for some reason though. Usually it's no problem with this workout and 2 risers. Maybe I wasn't going as hard as I thought.

Chris - good luck today.

Looks like everyone is off to a good start.

Heather

Good Morning,

Tonite is MM upper body only premix can someone tell if this includes abs? Dr. gave me a script for Phentermine but haven't decided if I am going to fill it, she only gives one to those that workout like I do and record their food. She was inspired by me she said she didn't know alot of 40 year olds that workout as hard as I do, I had everything written down that I did. I also got a script for sleep she says that could be the reason I am not losing wt. My cholesterol was high again to. Now here is a dilemma I am having, she said to up the protein and lower the carbs but eat my fruits and vegetables I am confused aren't those carbs?

Chris-good luck today I have to schedule my first mammogram not looking forward to eat and I have seen what people who have a colonoscopy have to go through feel for you girl.

Hi girls,

Chris, I do enjoy STS again. I did the 6 month rotation; I only did M1 (8 weeks). Then I had sinus surgery following with more problems. I hope ,I make it through once! I am gonna have to decide soon if I wanna do the 6 or 3 month rotation?? I still have until Sunday! LOL! Have fun with your leg or KB workout today. Good luck, girl!

Karen, nice workout this morning. Enjoy your rest day tomorrow.

Patti, good for you getting your workout in this morning. Do I have DOMS in my UB, can’t wait for the leg workout on Friday. I think I will soak in the tub all weekend long. LOL!

Nora, hope you feeling a little better today.

Heather, do you count calories? I know you are a vegetarian. Nice job with IMAX 3 this morning. That’s a good one!

Debbie, YAH! When are you starting STS? Will you do the 3 or 6 month rotation? If you set up your weights before you start your workout, it goes a lot smoother you pretty advanced in yoga, hah? I just a beginner, I do love it! Heck, I will do some yoga today to stretch my sore muscles.

What is Phentermine for?

As for carbs and veggies - eat as much greens as you like. No need to even count them at all. You can eat: spinache, lettuce, green onions, onions, green peppers, cukes, tomatoes, etc. without worrying about increasing your carbs. Fruits are a different story. Stick to small fruit like kiwi, plums, grapes, blueberries, strawberries. Have 2 to 3 servings a day. The trick is to get your protein intake up higher then your carb intake. So you'll need to concentrate on eating more chicken breasts, turkey patties, bison burgers if you can find any, fish, drink your protein drinks if you need to supplement it to get it higher. You can do this, Roxie. It just takes planning. Start making up your eating sheet a day in advance so you know you have all your macros met. Don't wait until you've eaten 4 meals and realize you are too high in carbs and too low in calories. PLAN AHEAD.

I think the 3 month. 6 month is just way too much for me. I get bored with one type of rotation that is too long. So would the 3 month rotation be doing the entire rotation once through? I need to figure out when the rest weeks come in.

Hi girls!:)

Yep, I'm checking in early, huh?:D

Here's today's workout:

Amy Bento's Kickbox Surge & Core Training=75 Minutes

Calories burned= 794

Wow, you guys sure are inspiring with your workouts today. I'm so not worthy, but yet I keep on trying. Awesome job on todays workouts. I'm feeling a little better today, but MS fatigue and hot temps in weather do not play well together. Oh well, I'm learning to get used to it.

WTG, ladies!!!!:) Bravo!!

Hugs!:)

Nora

What on earth do you mean, Nora? You do kick ass workouts right along with us. KB Surge is a fun and tough workout! Nice job on it and excellent calorie burn!!!

It sucks having to wait around to get this test done. Not supposed to be there until 12:15pm. And I'm hungry, dangit all! Thanks to everyone for thinking good thoughts for me today. I guess most important is for it to be no polyps and a nice healthy colon!

Belinda: Oh no no no no.. No lower body workout for me today. I'm going to be heavily drugged in a few hours and I won't be up for any kind of workout today. I do remember you doing STS before!..Didn't realize it was 8 weeks of it, though. Wow! I vote for the 3 month rotation, you can always take a little rest and do it over, right?

Patti: It's nice to get your workout out of the way for the day early, isn't it? And IM2 is so easy to want to do. NICE on the TBS afterwards. I love those stretches. Hope your Max is ok and they give him something to make him feel better. (I love that name too!)

Debbie: I've been really enjoying the Yoga work this rotation too. I've found I definitely need to improve my flexibility though. You make YogaX sound cool! I like Tony either way, he amuses me. Can you get that workout separate from the P90X package?

Heather: your HR didnt' get up there for IM3? No way! Just thinking about that workout gets my HR elevated! LOL!. Could it be your HRM isn't accurate? I just can't even imagine... It is a fun workout though! I love to jump!

Roxie: I don't know if abs are in the MM premix or not. I'm not sure if I've ever done that premix before. Gosh, I'm not so impressed with your doctor's advice. Does she realize the workouts you do? And she recommended 1200 calories? That's messed up! I'm also not a fan of diet pills. Because once you stop them, bam! your appetite comes back and you gain back what you lost. Plus I don't like taking drugs, you just never know. I agree with Debbie, plan out exactly what you'll eat for the day and up your protein. ... I've had 3 or 4 mammograms so far. They don't bother me for some reason. Maybe because the colonoscopies make them pale in comparison! LOL!.

Chris-yes she does know my workouts I made a printout for her. I am only going to take it for 1 month because insurance doesn't pay for it and its 33.00 a month. Its just a kick start for me.

Debbie-its a wt. loss pill and thank you for the help now I understand. What would I do without you guys?

I have the whole P90X set so I don't know. It's really good, though, I loved it. Tony is cool. I really didn't like him much when I did Ab Ripper.

And I agree with you, Chris - Roxie - why is your doctor prescribing you weight loss tablets? That is ludicris! Why is it that the first damn thing a doctor will prescribe is a pill???? Life does not revolve around pills. We can DO THIS OURSELVES!!! And as for your chloresterol levels, do you eat oats? If not, start! It's the best thing to bring down chloresterol levels. I also still think 1200 calories is TOO LOW! You need more then that to function and get you through the day and your workouts. I strongly believe in this. I think you need to up your calories to at least 1500 a day. Please try and do this, Roxie.

Ok Debbie here is todays total breakdown and my brkfts was horrible because I was running late. 201g carbs 56g fat and 53 gr. protein what does the ratio need to be and I am going to try and make myself eat oatmeal. She only perscribes the pills for people who workout and log their meals and still can't lose wt and my bmi yesterday was 30 which is classified as obese. I weighed 136lbs at the dr office and I didn't have shoes on, but it was 2:30 in the afternoon.

Where do you log your food in? Does it give you a % of what you are eating. Example: 25% fat; 40% protein; 35% carbs or something like that? Also, how many calories are you eating today?

Protein grams should be your body weight. So if you are "truly" 136#, you should be taking in 136 g. of protein. Then work the carbs and fat from there. Try to get at least 30% in fat and the rest in carbs.

Ok, so now they are prescribing pills for people who workout and eat healthy? Now I've heard it all. What will they think of next?

Afternoon!

Roxie, you don't need pills! You can do this, I promise.

I had the best lunch- microwaved a sweet potato. Put 1 cup of cottage cheese in the blender with loads of cinnamon and a bit of honey (er, and a little splenda ). I blended until smooth and poured it over the chopped up sweet potato. It was like a cinnamon roll dessert or something. It was a little carb heavy but every now and again, that's OK. Plus it is better than eating cookies or other junk- really killed my sweet tooth.

Patti-that sounds good.

Debbie-myfitnesspal.com and it doesn't give me percentages. My scale at home this morning said 127lbs. My meals got screwed up because the bosses thought we needed to have churches chicken for lunch, and they only like dark meat. Todays caloried total is 1404 which includes the chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy.

I have already paid for 1 month and I swear I will not refill it.

According to myfitnesspal on their 1200 cal intake I should consume 165g carbs 40grams of fat and 45grams of protein.
