Crazy Strong and Loving It for Jan 9, 2010

Morning ladies,

I slept in this morning, needed it :D We are covered in snow, not sure if I will go to the gym today? If the roads are clear by this afternoon, I will go. If not not sure what I will do?

Today was cardio but since I'm having such a hard time with it I decided to rest. Hopefully by Tuesday I'll be able to do some light cardio. I'm bummed because I just recieved Tracey Staehle's new workout "Cardio Kickbox Challenge" and I'm dying to try it. It's a follow up to StrikeZone which I love. I just don't want to chance it so I figured I'll wait until Tuesday. We'll see.

I've been warming the muscle with my bean warming pillow and a wrap my dh got me for Christmas. Then once the muscles are warmed I stretch them. Seems to be helping. I'll do this for a while and see how it goes. I think my muscles are just too tight and I don't take time to stretch much anymore. I guess this is going to have to become a daily thing for me no matter what. I've heard that the stronger the muscles are the tighter they are. So heat and stretching it is. And it feels so good heating the muscles. Hopefully this will do the trick.

Chris - I did try that stretch but didn't feel it much. Maybe I wasn't doing it right?

Good Morning,

Today I will do SJP step only and then Quick Trouble Zones which is NMTZ without the floor work. I have to clean today we are having my family christmas tomarrow, my sister and her family will be here we are going to have mexican. I also need to get a grocery list together.

Debbie-hope those muscles get better I don't stretch enough either. I always plan on doing one on Sunday but never get it done.

Belinda-good job getting your workout in.

Hi ladies. Today I did premix 2 from SB then did the weights Debbie did yesterday:

TRICEPS - Weighted Bench Dips - I have never done dips weighted so I was totally clueless as to the weight I needed. Started with 15 then went to 20. Definitely could go heavier.

Calves - Used 35# DBs (so 70 total)

QUADS - No way to do extension at the house, so I did elevated lunges (read this was a recommended sub) at 50#

SHOULDERS - Lateral Raise - 12's

BACK - Bent-Over Raise - 15's Not exactly sure if I did this right to be honest

CHEST - Decline Dumbbell Flyes - 20's

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday. About to head to my sister's house to help her get ready for her bday party this evening. We'll be staying the night there. Plan on a cardio tomorrow when I get back home!

Hi Everyone..

Today is going to be a rest day for me. Way too busy and one of my sons has a friend over now, and they're in and out of the basement , which is where I work out.

It's funny, I've read it over and over and over again, especially in the forums here, and I'm convincing myself it is really true. That diet is 99% of it. The thing that kicked it in for me was I saw Jillian on Jay Leno last week. She said she now works out no more than 3 hours a week. AND she looks like she does! :eek: She said it is almost all watching what she eats.

It's not that I plan on stopping workouts (in fact I'm starting a new GS/4DS rotation on Monday with Cathe's JAN 10 cardio days), it's just that I need to #1. Watch my diet more and #2. NOT stress about not getting a workout in. AND #3. REALLY watch what I eat on the day(s) I don't work out.

Just a revelation (that I have to keep convincing myself of, because I know it's true).

Belinda: YAY for CC! Did you get to the gym then? Somehow I picture snow in Germany much prettier than here (LOL!)

Debbie: oh that stretch didn't help? Hey, do you have one of the rollers (looks like a pool noodle?). I've heard those are good. It's weird how you get this discomfort from nothing in particular (like leg workouts or AFTER running). How long ago did you have it checked out at the doctors?

Heather: GREAT workout today! The weight work sounds awesome, and 70LBS for calfs??? :eek::eek: Have fun at the bday party tonight!

Roxie: Sounds like a good combo of a workout today, enjoy the party tomorrow! (or try to, with all the work you have there). Your neck is all better or still sore?

Nora: I've been meaning to tell you, you have me quite intrigued by that BL Yoga. I'm going to keep an eye out for that, I think I want it!

Chris-neck is better took ibuprofen and it really helped. I have BL yoga and it is a good one. My Dh gave it to me for christmas a year ago.

STS Cardio: MMA Boxing- Heavy Bag= 20 Minutes
Calories burned= 205
This was big on fun factor for me and definitely in a short time I was sweating. Its a nice add on or a great way to warm up before a weight workout. Its a keeper for me!;)

P90X KenpoX= 56 Min
Calories burned= 535

Total calories burned= 740:eek::cool:
