Good morning,

I will do cardio today, not sure what yet? Hope the gym is open. due to the weather:confused: It's still snowing:confused: Snow, snow go away:eek:

Nora, as always, nice wo and cal burn yesterday. I am also working on my push ups, did 6 on my toes yesterday;) I am sure, my form was ugly:p but who cares! Pikes on the ball, I still can't do them. I do the roll outs, insead. My big butt won't go up there:p

Chris, great idea mixing the GS's and 4DS! You'll get some great results with them:D

Roxie, hope you got your wo in last night. I always work out after my family visits. :p If you know, what I mean?

Debbie, Holy smokes! Had to look twice at your weights:p Very impressive! You are one strong girl! I copy all your workouts, so I can do that rotaion after STS. Now I see it, it changes every week. Very cool! Keeps things intersting and fresh!

Heather, that's tough not having squat rack! What did you end up doing? I hope you had fun whatever you did!

Wendy, hope you having had a great wo yesterday!

Have a great workout and keep it clean! BBL!

Today was cardio and I felt good enough to tackle a new workout I just got. It's by Tracey Staehle (sp?) and it's called Cardio Kickbox Challenge. AWESOME WORKOUT! I'm telling you, Cathe better watch out. This girl is good and the workout was so damn fun. I think this is the best KB workout I've ever done. Tracey also did StrikeZone which is another one of my favorites. There were about 6 different combos and they were easy to follow and high in intensity. It was kick ass!

HR STATS:
61 minutes total
3 minutes below zone
16 minutes in zone
41 minutes above zone
487 calories burn!!!!

I like my stats. The stretch at the end was really nice too and I'll stretch again tonight. That is doing wonders for me!

Hi ladies. Feeling DOMS this morning even though I did have to go lighter, maybe it's b/c I never use the barbell. I went ahead and tried it on my own, just going lighter and adding extra reps. Anyway, I'll suck it up and admit my weight loads:

SS #1
Flat Bench Press - 50# - added on 5 extra reps. was too afraid to try to go heavier. Am feeling it in weird places this morning.
ss w/
Barbell Rows - 60# - Should have gone heavier, did add extra reps.

SS #2
Squats - I used the standing squat machine (not rack) and did 120#
ss w/
Stiff Leg Deads - used 2 35# DBs for this. Still having a lot of pain in the super high ham area of left leg.

SS #3
Barbell Curls - 30# barbell (if I had done DBs prob would have used 20's, but the barbell about killed me!)
ss w/
Close Grip Bench Press - 30# (prob could have done 40)

Chris - DH and I work right by the gym, he actually offered to run up there when I needed him to spot. I decided to try it on my own and go light. I can't always rely on him right? I need to figure this out. So do you have DOMS from GS?

Debbie - glad you enjoyed your cardio this morning. How's your lower body feeling?

Roxie - how's the soda situation going?

Good morning to Belinda, Wendy, and Nora!!!!

Hallo,

I am back from the gym! I did iTread Set 24 on the TC, traveled over 4 miles! Still have to work my abs:confused:

Debbie, I need to check Cardio Kickbox Challenge. Is it a new one?

Heater, wtg on your weight workout this morning, girl;)

Hi to everyone that follows! BBL!

Good Morning,

Tonite I am either going to do Ellen's Slo-Robics or KCMs KB. I did do a workout last night. I have decided that I will hold off on Jillian until April. Next month I want to do Cathe's December rotation again, I felt I got great results with it but I didn't finish it.

Belinda-we actually had 40 degree temps yesterday and some of our snow is disappearing. Good workout.

Debbie-I saw you decided not to do abs yesterday but since I wasn't sure I was going to workout I decided to let you off the hook.

Heather-good job with your wts.

Hey Everyone...

I'm about to head downstairs to do 40/20. I haven't done this one yet, so I'm a little leary. I'm still feeling wiped out from the weekend, not sure why I'm not snapping back like usual. I think I have a little sinus "thing" going on. Dull ache there , a little nausea, and a dizzy/off feeling in my head.

Going to add on Med Ball Abs too! (my favorite from Abs Circuit).

Belinda: Nice workout today! I haven't done GS and 4Ds in a while, feels good to start something 'fresh'!

Debbie: Oh, now you've done it! I want that workout too! LOL!. I'll keep it in mind when my Amazon $25 GC comes. (I get it from using my Amazon credit card). I looked at the clip on video fitness, I like the setting and the instructors!

Heather: Good for YOU for getting it done yesterday!! You're right, you have to figure out how to do things in case this happens again. I defnitely have DOMS kicking in from GS yesterday. Biceps first! wow! I bet the back and shoulders will kick in later (since I did the workout late yesterday afternoon).

Roxie: Good job getting something in yesterday! I know you weren't feeling it, but you did it!

Nora: Nice P90X for you yesterday too! I know I did the P90X Abs ONCE before, and it was THE toughest ab workout I've come across. I wasn't good at all the reps, but I think it gets better. Thanks for the empathy on my fatigue yesterday (and today). It'll get better as the day/week goes on. Working nights really can wipe me out. Some weeks I'm ok with it though. .. I saw this video on Beachbody yesterday. It made me think of you. Totally brought tears to my eyes, and made me feel SO proud of this girl (AND you too!) Not sure if you saw it, here's the link:

Hope it works!

Better get going....

Chris - I'd love to hear your thoughts on 40/20. It's seriously my favorite new workout so far. But I think it's just sooo short. Hope you feel better!!!

You're a NUT, Heather! 40/20 too short?

I was thinking of you at the end though, because I remember you saying that you wished the HiiTs were longer. You could always hit the back button on DVD player and do some intervals over!

It was hard though, and my HR SKYROCKETED! I reached "spit status" many times (feeling like I had to spit). Now that I'm done, I guess it was kind of "fun". LOL! Modified a few moves (I hate butt kicks over the step). I still love MMA: Boxing the best! (I love to PUNCH, it gets the stress out!).

Tacked on Med Ball abs at the end, before the stretch!

Chris - I have done that, repeated some of the intervals. With pyramid, I'll do the whole thing, then repeat the first half again. Makes it about 30 mins. My sister loves the boxing one too.

Nora - Nice going with your workout yesterday. What week of P90X are you on now?? I've lost count and time is flying by. Thank you about my weights from yesterday's workout. I love lifting heavy but I think my body is starting to rebel against it.

Belinda - I hope you can do this rotation one day soon, it is very fun and effective. I love it! Nice cardio workout today, I never cared much for the Itread workouts. Glad you enjoy them. The Cardio Kickbox Challenge is the newest release from Tracey Staehle, it's sort of the follow-up to StrikeZone. You can order it at fitbytracey.com - it is totally fun!

Heather - Nice job on the workout! I'm glad you were able to get it done, even though you had to modify a bit. Glad you are sore. I've been sore since I started this rotation.

Roxie - LOL on the ab work. I'll do them tomorrow and Friday or Saturday. So did you quit the rotation you were doing?

Chris - I can't say enough about the workout I did this morning. You have to get it. Nice going with 40/20, glad you sort of enjoyed it! LOL!!!

Debbie-I really didn't do a whole lot of it just one day. There was a dread factor for me and I just don't think I want to do her workouts right now there is alot of jumping jacks, running squat jumps my knees just don't like that alot. I might change my mind by the time I get home you never know. I had better see a post on one of those days saying you did your ab work.

Roxie - No sense in doing something you dread. Find another good rotation and stick with it. You had such great results with a couple of them that you just did. And LMAO on the ab work!!! You'll see me post something on that!

Where's Wendy??

I had really good results from your Dec 08 rotation and Cathes Dec 09 rotation I am going back to hers next month and I want to do yours in May. I think Wendy is still recovering from Disney World.

Hi girls!

Wow - everyone is just jumping and pumping!! Way to go everyone!
Debbie - I'm going to have to check out Strikezone and her latest. I'm wondering if Strikezone is on Netflix yet...?? Glad to hear stretching is helping a bit - keep it up!
Belinda - too funny on the ball pikes! I feel like I'm doing them, but when I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror, I think "Cathe doesn't look like THAT!" Oh, well, something to strive for ,eh?
Heather - so exciting how the barbell worked your muscled totally different, huh? Think it is something you can get used to and incorporate more? I HEAR you on the spotter issue - your DH is so kind to offer. But good for you for figuring out a way by yourself. Keep up the good work!
Chris - hope you bounce back soon. My husband works graves and I honestly don't know how you guys can adjust! I loved 40/20 also. I though it was TOUGH! (Note: Heather is crazy!)
Roxie - hey, girl! How have you been? I noticed you never answered Heather's question about the soda. What was it again that Heather was going to do if you laid off the soda? Good luck with that!
Nora - what's happening? Feeling okay in the knees and all? P90X just seems daunting to me - all those pull ups I guess. One day I'll try it! Good for you!
Well, I did manage to get my husband to spot me for Disc 34 the other night. I did it about 7p the same day that I did the MMA Kickboxing. Took a rest day yesterday. Isn't it funny we have to call them "rest days" sometimes simply because life is so busy we can't possibly fit a workout into it?!?!? Some "rest" day! Today I did Disc 35 Plyo legs. One disc to go!!!
My youngest DD was able to sign up for basketball to play in the next town. So now both girls are playing with practice 4 nights/week (between the 2 of them) and up to 3 games on Saturdays. Yikes! It's SO fun to watch, though.
I'm plannnig on staying in town for several weeks now. That should help to get my eating back on track. Doing a good job so far. Wish me luck! Eat Clean!!!!
Good times....have a great day, ladies!

Wendy - Rest Day is really such an oxymoron isn't it! We say it, but we're only referring to working out. I can't even imagine what a true rest day would be like. They usually only happen when I'm too ill to get out of bed. I don't think that quite counts.

I totally am feeling the chest press in different spots. Not sure if it's good though. I took a lot of it in my front shoulders. Glad you were able to get your DH to spot you. It makes such a difference!

Wendy-I was hoping no one noticed I danced around that question. I am back to 2 a day I know I need to quit drinking it. I am still drinking lots of water though.

Hi girls!:)

It looks like you've all been hittin' the workouts hard today, bravo!!!

here' today's workout for me:

P90X PlyometricsX= 58 min
Calories burned= 594

I love Plyometrics X, its so much fun and always makes me sweat. I like workouts that I don't find myself watching the clock with major dreadfactor waiting for it to be over. It was fun and as usual P90X Plyometrics X rocks!!!
I know someone asked what week I'm in P90X, I just started week 7 and this is week 2 with the nutrition plan it comes with. I have to say the food is great and there is no starving with this diet its balanced, clean, and healthy.

Belinda- You did 6 pushups on your toes!!! WOW!!! That's awesome, great job! Ugh, I here you about Pikes on the ball, its a work in progress. I hope to get it one of these days. Great job on doing iTread Set 24 on the TC, I like those also. I've never tried the treadclimber but I'm in awe of your workout, awesome job keep up the great work.

Debbie- Thanks for sharing your rave reviews on Cardio Kickbox Challenge. I got mine in the mail yesterday but haven't tried it yet. I did preview it and it looks like a great one. I liked her Strikezone too and this is even better. I hope to fit it in and maybe add a sunday workout just so I can do that one. Normally, that's my rest day, but hey its kickboxing and I love those kinds of workouts. Yes, I'm still doing P90X, I'm in week 7 of that one. I'm still liking it and working hard at pushups and chinups. Those are not easy for me but I'm slowly improving, so that's good. I'm glad you enjoyed your workout so much and stretching is helping, but I have to say you are making anxious to do it too! Great job on the workout today!;)

Heather- Great workout, I'm so glad you took it easy at the gym since your were lifting without a spotter. It does sound like you did really well, I'd probably skip tomorrow from working out if you have DOMS in strange places i'd had for you to get injured. I get DOMS on all Cathe's GS workout except for Legs, that one never gives me DOMS, not sure why. Take care and maybe have a nice warm bath with epsom salts for those sore muscles, it would really help.

Roxie- Have fun with whatever workout you choose. I like to do the ones I have fun with and find myself smiling or laughing at some of the moves. I truly have fun working out. I never used to like working out when I was a teen or in my 20's and I hated PE in school. Its funny because I'm the opposite of that now in my 40's. The main thing is to have fun with the workout and enjoy yourself, find what you like and then it makes being consistent with your workouts a lot easier. Good luck and happy workout to you!;)

Chris- You are braver than me I haven't tried 40/20. I plan to do HiTT 30/30 on Thursday followed by P90X Yoga probably more like 60 minutes worth on the yoga. You are one brave lady, I noticed some other ladies on the boards in the Shock Cardio Forum have tried it and lived to tell the tale.:p I agree P90X Ab Ripper X is the toughest I've ever tried. I get DOMS with that one, but its all good. Please get some rest, I know how tough fatigue is to function with and the only thing that helps is sleep. Thanks for the link to the girl on the Beachbody video, I watched it. I was touched and so proud of how she's made such monumental progress. I can truly appreciate and understand how hard a struggle that is even though my MS has not put me in a wheel chair, but I've had major issues at first with not being able to walk with any balance or coordination. I'm sure people thought I was a total lush and drunk because it was that bad. I know some days I can't write with my right hand because of my MS and days I'm feeling very tired and fatigued I need help walking to steady me and can't write those days. There are good days and bad. Just gotta roll with it and figure this is just for today, tomorrow I will be better and do better. I think fighting my way through MS is through fitness and exercise it helps mentally, physically, and medically and that's powerful stuff so I make myself do it, because the alternative is unacceptable. Enough about that stuff, you need to rest and get some sleep take care of yourself and feel better.;):)

Wendy- I definitely recommend Tracey Staehle's StrikeZone and her new one "Cardio Kickbox Challenge," you'll have a blast! I'm in week 7 of P90X and liking it. My knees are something I sometimes have to modify for and I wear knee braces when I workout to help with that but I'm still plugging along and getting it done. Its still doable and if I can do it anyone can. I can't do pull ups and chin ups unless I use the bands as shown in P90X or I now can do chair assisted Pullups and chin ups. So, I'm feeling pretty darn good about that progress. Take care!;)

That's it for me girls, I'm off to make a late clean dinner and watch the Biggest Loser!

Hugs!;):)
