Today was Plyo X AGAIN. Was not into this at all and I stopped at the bonus round. I just didn't have it in me today to do this workout. Even the chatter in it is grinding on my nerves. But at least I got it done.

HR got up to 147bpm at one point. This is a good workout, but I'm really sick of it.

My assessment of P90X reminds me of that New Years resolution poem I once read where someone was all gung-ho on getting in shape and the first few workouts go well and then slowly they start getting sarcastic about it. It's hilarious. I'll need to find it and post it.
 
Good Morning,

Tonite is suppose to be 10-10-10 cardio only and stretch but since I didn't get up this morning I will have to try and squeeze in a workout tonite before we go to DDs for supper, so I have decided to do KCMs KB since it is only 30min. Not real excited about the CTX workouts.

Debbie-sounds like you need a change.
 
Hi ladies. I am still debating on which Shock cardio to do, but I'll be sure to post back with my thoughts.

Roxie - glad you opted for the cardio that you preferred. I think that if you're not going to enjoy it from the start, the time is going to DRAG and it'll not be a great workout.

Debbie - even if you weren't into it, you got it done right? Sounds like it's time to move on!

Nora - holy cow you rocked your workout yesterday. Good job. And knee pushups are A-OK

Back from our early AM dentist appt, and groceries (have I told you how I hate to grocery shop with my 2 younger boys?. It costs me an arm and a leg more than usual..ugh!). And not to mention the sillies they get in the store. So I have to concentrate on what I need to shop for AND nag after the boys to behave. Another UGH!

My sister called and will be here around 3-3:30, so that gives me some extra time... She and her 12 yr old son, and my mom , are all coming for a 2nd Christmas and a sleepover!! YAY!!!

I contemplated a Hiit, BUT.. Plyo legs is tomorrow, and like last week, I don't want to do 2 high impact workouts back to back like that. So maybe I'll do the MMA Kickbox.

Belinda: Enjoy your DD while she's there. I know time sure does fly.

Roxie: I agree, do a workout you look forward to!

Debbie: Oh ick, you're totally turning me off from P90X now! How long have you been doing it now? Maybe it won't be on my New Year's plan...

Heather: Looking forward to hearing what you'll pick for Shock Cardio, and what you think! ... I'm on my last week of Meso #3, and for cardio , I've been doing the new Shock Cardios! Fun stuff!!! I'm looking forward to Cathe's Jan. 10 Rotation..hope she uses Shock Cardios!

I opted for Cardio Core Circuit this morning. It says it's 50 mins, but it's really only about 41 mins of cardio. I was hoping for a slightly longer, higher calorie burner. But for 41 mins I burned 376, so it was a pretty good workout. Perfect for when you don't have a ton of time and want something that's going to get the HR up.

I will say that some of the roll back things really sucked. They hurt either my ankle trying to get back upright or the seam from my workout shorts started to rub on my backside. I'm afraid to see what damage was done! :eek:

It was all I could do not to pull out the Hiit DVD to try some of those! I'm excited to see how those are. I did watch some of the exercises. Some will be similar to plyo legs like kick butts. By the looks of it, I'm thinking high HR!
 
Nora - Nice workout! How come you are doing cardio on the same day you are doing weights? Just curious. Do you feel like you aren't getting enough in with just following the rotation as is???

Belinda - Don't worry about the personals. You enjoy your daughter while you can!!!

Roxie - Once you get use to the CTX workouts I think you'll like them more. I remember they didn't click with me at first.

Chris - I seriously don't mean to detour people from doing P90X. I loved the first six weeks of it. But now the workouts are all the same I know them pretty well. I need something different. I say try it out and see how you like it. You can always do something else if it doesn't click with you.

Heather - I heard that Cardio Core Circuit is a good one but that some moves are an injury waiting to happen. So just be careful with it! Nice workout!

Debbie-I was scared to go to my first one this year but its not that bad.
 
Debbie, you are correct on that one. In one of the drills you do 2 jumps forward then a squat thrust pushup. I can normally do those without any problem, but today they hurt my shoulder and I think it was the speed. She was trying to keep up with the beat and that just wasn't working out for me. Most of those I just did as a regular squat thrust and got the same cardio effect sans pain.

Debbie - good luck with your mammo! I haven't done one...yet!
Chris - I just got back from the grocery store with my girls. I feel your pain!
Roxie - I agree with what everyone said. Don't do a workout you don't like. However, don't discount CTX because they do have a place. Short and sweet! I don't reach for them often, so they always seem fresh yet familiar.
Heather - I already know I'm going to look like a jacka$$ doing those roll back/stand up things.
Nora - no ice storms this year! Yeah for us! Great job on your workouts!
My Shock Cardio is OUT FOR DELIVERY!!!! So today (like Chris, knowing I'm going to probably to a Hiit tomorrow) I did 4DS kickbox and abs. Good workout.

Decided to do KCMs Athletic Step Cardio Blast and got a good cal burn but some of the moves confused me so I could have had a better burn if I would have watched it ahead of time.

Wendy - I totally laughed out loud at the jacka$$ comment! DH kept stepping into the room for some freaking bizarre reason to watch (he never does this). I was so annoyed b/c I kept thinking what a fool I must look like! He still loves me I suppose! LOL

Roxie - It definitely helps to preview. I am glad I previewed the one I did today so I kind of had an idea. You'll get it though!

Wow, you've been busy doing some amazing workouts today ladies. Yep, you all rock!!

here's today's workout for me:

My short version of Cardio Coach Volume 1= 20 Min
Distance= 1.61 Miles
Calories burned= 246
BPM's= 78,102,127,147,149,154,157,154,122.
With exception of warmup and cool downs I was in the zone for me which was 80% to 87% of my max heart rate. I love doing cardio coach even when I make a shortened mix of one to fit into my workouts. This was fun and very challenging, at least for me it was for such a short cardio session which was fine since I still had P90X PlyometricXs yet to do.

P90X PlyometricsX= 58 min
Calories burned= 554
Total Calories burned from today's workout= 800

Debbie- I did PlyoX today too! It is a really good workout but I need a bit more variety so I added my shortend version of Cardio Coach Volume 1 which is 20 minutes. I've started week 5 of P90X Classic and I do feel a little board with some of them. Tony is push up crazy and Pullup crazy! I'm doing what I can but still its really tough for me to do either of those. I know you had a good workout today, because I did it also. My Shock Cardio arrived today so I'm itching to try those out and next week will be the follow up one to Strikezone from Tracey Staehle, I can't wait. I think I'm a workout junkie now!:eek:

Roxie- I really enjoy KCM Kickboxing, its fun and fast. There's also a killer ab section you can select from the chapters menu. I hope you find its a fun workout for you to do today given a time crunch. Great job!;) I have all KCM's new 30 min to fitness dvds that came out recently. I think the athletic step one is one I'll need more practice with to get the moves down also. But I like learning new workouts and the challenge it represents, it fun and a goal to work towards. Great job on attempting athletic step!Bravo!!:D

Chris- It sounds like the second Christmas and sleepover with your sister, her son, and your mom will be fun, relax and enjoy. I agree that doing two days back to back high impact probably not a good idea, especially when you have Plyo Legs to do the next day. That was a smart decision not to overkill on that, nice way to think ahead to your next workout and try to be careful and workout smart, Bravo!!!:D

Heather- I just got my Shock Cardio today!:eek: I'm so excited I can't wait to do them. I'm not sure which one to try first. I did preview the two circuit ones to see what kind of premixes they had. They do look good. I know the others don't have them and that's fine with me given the tons of variety and types of workouts they do offer. I like variety! Awesome job on Cardio Core Circuit, that looks like and fun and very tim efficient friendly workout. So which of the Shock Cardio's would you recommend I try first?

Wendy- I agree I don't think I'll be able to do those roll back stand up things either. I'm not as graceful these days since MS. It sucks but you work around those things and modify to make it work for you. I'll be modifying so don't feel bad I'm right there with ya! Tomorrrow is P90X back and biceps and Ab ripperX for me, I'm itching to do one of the shorter HIIT workouts since I got my Shock Cardio's deliver today! I know you'll have fun with yours, and please let me know what you think. I know we've been lucky this winter so far to avoid ice storms knock on wood.

Belinda- Definitely enjoy your time with your daughter. Workout when you can and when it makes sense with your schedule. :);)

Okay Nora - I jinxed us!!!
Can you believe it?!?! No ice, but snow. And that puts the Northwest into emergency mode. UPS canceled my delivery due to emergency conditions ( I live way up on a hill and they usually come in the evening, about the time it started dumping). So NO SHOCK CARDIO waiting for me tonight! That totally blows!! And we're leaving in the morning to go to the mountains with friends for New Years. Snap! So I guess it'll be a few days before I can compare notes with you guys on the workouts...

I am up early, can't sleep. We never made it to Regensburg today, the weather was getting to nasty. We decited to go to Nuernberg Did a little shopping and went out for dinner. I have no workout besides my PT to report. Oh by the way, I got my Cathe DVD yesterday too! Now my back needs to get better.

Debbie, sounds like you burned out on P90X, it's time to do something else. Nice cal burn, girl! How did you mamo go? Wasn't that bad, right? I am getting them every year. Not a big deal! I posted my email address a few days ago, not sure if you saw it? I will post it again www. [email protected]! Thanks in advance! Still not sure what I will do after my rotation.
 
Heather, enjoy your new workouts. Got mine yesterday, way to high impact rigth now. They do look like fun. WTG, on Cardio Core circuit this morning. That one looks tough!

Wendy, DD is still sleeping, I am alsrady doing laudry and start cleaning the house. Getting ready for my workout soon. LOL. Hope you get your SC soon. We got ice yesterday too, not sure what the weather looks like today?
