Crazy Strong and Loving It for Dec 16, 2009

Good morning! Yesterday I did (very begrudgingly) Hardcore Extreme hi/low premix and abs from PH. I skipped the drills at the end b/c I just wasn't into it at all. If I thought I wasn't going to end up having to take Sat as my rest day, I would have skipped the workout entirely yesterday. Hopefully today will be better for me.

I have decided to take the biceps/triceps from PUB to the gym today. Those are easy enough to do without watching Cathe surely. Got my sheet printed out (not that I need it, security blanket though). I will do that then spin after. Now if I can just get psyched up to do weights in front of live people!

Happy Hump Day!!!

Hey Girls...

I did end up going for my run yesterday! the weather was crap, but of course, I got all caught up in those endorphins, and the weather was perfect! I just love being outdoors when I push myself to go there. it's just the thought of cloudy, drizzly and cold that makes me want to hibernate. It's not so bad, really!

I'm about to go downstairs and start PLYO , week #2 (is it DISC 29?... I lose count!)

I was really hoping I could avoid the Mall all together this year for Christmas shopping, but I can't. It's all Greg's fault. He's SO hard to buy for, so when he gives me a few ideas, I have to act on them. *sigh*

I'm excited about Shock Cardio coming!! Hopefully I can use it for my last week or more of STS! That'd be too cool!!

Chris - I wish you could share some of those running endorphins with me!! I am such a wimp when it comes to running outside when the weather is even the slightest bit bad (you know, below 60 degrees).

Sorry you have to hit the mall so close to Christmas. I LOVE to shop, but even I avoid it at all costs right about now. If I have to go, I go the minute they open.

I am sooooo looking forward to getting Shock Cardio. It may be the answer to my cardio slump!

Good morning -

I think I'll start Meso 3 today. I'll do my lifting this afternoon after my DH wakes up. Can't wait!
Heather - lifting in front of strangers?!? Aren't we silly!? No one will be paying attention and you'll get into your groove and won't pay anyone else any attention either. Have fun!
Chris - good luck at the mall. I'm considering going today, also..... Have fun with Plyo - now THAT I'm stoked to do!
Belinda - enjoy your coffee? What's up for you today? I know you said that you had a lot of Christmas parties this weekend.
Yeah for Shock Cardio coming! Heather and Chris, you're getting it? I'm getting it. Anyone else?

Hello to Debbie, Nora and Roxie, too!!!

Today was P90X Back & Biceps. Had a puke status workout again. This one was fun and next time I do it I'll go a little heavier. I wasn't sure what the exercises were like so I made notes where I need to go higher.

My pullups and chins were pretty dismal this morning. Just didn't have it in me to many unassisted ones.

Wide Front Pullups: 15 assisted

Lawnmowers (One arm rows) - 30#/10-2 reps

Twenty-Ones - 20's/21 reps
***These were hard.

Cross-Body Curls - 15's/14 reps
***I should have went heavier here.

Switch Grip Pullups - 6 sets assisted
***Here you do two reps with overhand grip, two reps underhand grip. These are hard, I doubt I'll ever be able to do them unassisted.

Elbows-Out Lawnmowers - 25#/12 reps
***Felt these in my middle lat really good.

Standing Biceps Curls - 20's/10 reps

One-Arm Concentration Curls - 25#/6 reps
***These were heavy and I didn't like how Tony does them. Next time I may do them seated.

Corn Cob Pullups - 6 assisted
***These are pullups, you move right, left, middle and then down - that's 1 rep. I like these. Even assisted these were hard.

Reverse Grip Bent-Over Row - 20's/12 reps

Open Arm Curls - 15's/12 reps
***I liked these. You hold your palms away from you when you curl, you really feel it.

Static Arm Curls - 12's/16 reps
***Could have gone heavier here.

1 minute rest

Towel Pullups - 15 reps total assisted
***I liked this one. You place a towel over one side of the pullup bar, grap it and you hold the other side with your other hand with an underhand grip and pull up. did 3 reps each side for a total of 15 reps. This was a cool exercise.

Congdon Locomotives - 15's/40 reps
***These are bent over alternating rows. You just keep alternating rows for 40 reps. They burn like hell.

Stability Ball Incline Curls - 20's/12 reps
***These were suppose to be those Crouching Cohen Curls, those hurt my back so I subbed this exercise.

One-Arm Corkscrew Curls - 15's/12 reps
***Need to go up here. These are alternating dumbbell curls but you start with your palms behind you, then you corkscrew the curl up. I liked these.

Chinups - 5 unassisted/5 assisted
***This was sad, I usually can do way more unassisted.

Seated Bent-Over Back Flyes - 15's/15 reps
***Need to go up here. These were way too light.

Curl-up/Hammer Downs - 20's/12 reps
***I like this one too.

Hammer Curls - 20's/8 reps
***Should have gone heavier. 25's would have been perfect.

Max Rep Pullups - 10 assisted
***He said to pick whatever pullup/chinups we wanted to do. I chose Wide Grip pullups.

Supermans - 5 - 10 second holds

In-Out Hammer Curls - 15's/9 reps
***Really felt these. You do a standard hammer, then one out to the side. Great burn here.

Strip-Set Curls - 20's/15's/12's/10's - 8 reps each
***Should have started heavier here. By the time I got to 10's I did't feel like I was doing anything.

Then I did Ab Ripper X but stopped at the Leg Climbs. My low back was really starting to ache so I didn't want to push my luck. This is one tough ab workout.

Good Morning,

I have managed to do my 30 pushups but still need to do 200 crunches, boss lady is leaving at 1 today and I am hoping boss man goes upstairs to his office then I will work on the crunches. Tonite DH will be gone again so I will it will be LM step only. How would you girls enter pushups in the workout manager. I asked SNM but never got an answer.

Chris-I am like you I still have alot of christmas shopping left to do but I don't like all the crowds lucky for me I work right down the street from the mall so I can go over my lunch hour.

Heather-I think shock cardio is exactly what you need right now it will be challenging and you will have several to choose from.

Debbie-nice workout and great job getting those abs in.

Wendy-good job with your workout to.

Roxie - it's been a while since I've looked at the WM, but isn't there a way to create an exercise? Or maybe choose something similar from the list of workouts? I'm really hoping having some new variety with the Shock Cardio helps me get out of this slump I'm in. I am just not feeling very motivated at all!

Roxie - I think I figured it out. If you go to "Workouts" choose "Weight" then you can either enter your own or go down to Step 3 and choose "chest" from the 2nd dropdown list. Scroll down and there is an option for a basic prone pushup.

Wendy - I'm not sure it'll get that warm this weekend. But if it does I'm on my bike!!!

Nora - I seen that P90X+, I heard it isn't as good as the original. But I still might check it out. I already preordered Tracey's new workout. Can't wait to get it!

Heather - Sounds like you are getting burned out. Do you need to take a few days off perhaps? ;)

Chris - Have fun with Plyo Legs!

Roxie - Nice job on the pushups! Hope you can get those crunches done. Thanks on the ab work. I enjoyed it today and was bummed I had to cut it short.

Belinda - Where you be girl?

Debbie - I am getting burned out. But I was thinking it was more because I just keep doing the same things over and over and over again. I was hoping that trying new things would get me over the hump. I probably should take an extra rest day, but now is sooo not the time of year for that - cookies, parties, cookies. Ugh. This weekend I know will be bad. Party Friday night, cookie baking Sat with my sister, then get together with old friends that night. I am fairly certain I won't be able to get in a workout Sat at all, so I feel like I have to just suck it up and get it done this week.

Heather-thanks for the tip. I have now done 25 of my 200 crunches getting ready to do some more.

I am up to 150 crunches want to save the rest for the stability ball at home. I want to do regular crunches and then oblique twists.

Good Evening,

I did get the 200 crunches done and I did LM step only.

Stats:
44 min
34 in the zone
131 min hr
155 max hr
260 cals burned.

Hi girls!;)

I did finish my workout earlier but wasn't able to check in until now. Not feeling too well today so I'll be breif with no personals.

Here's today's workout:

P90X Shoulders & Arms= 59 Minutes
Calories burned= 483
This was a fun one, I really liked it.

P90X Ab Ripper X= 16 Minutes
Calories burned= 98
This is a killer ab workout. I have a tough time with Vups and the Leg Climbers as they hurt my low back.

Total calories burned from today's workout= 581

Seeya all at tomorrow's check in. :);)

Hugs!:):D

Nora

Did my workout much later than usual.
Started Meso 3. Wow. Those are long rests which equal long workouts. Thanks goodness for Plyo legs tomorrow! On the flat bench press I was pressing 90# - so glad my husband was there. My heaviest DBs are 30#. So for one arm rows I had on my gloves, wrist weights and tried to wrap my ankle weights around the DB. I hope my DH got the hint that I need a set of 35#s!
I then did the Core only from the original BC. Then I did 20 min on the bike. All that "resting" made me want to MOVE!
I have Christmas parties and gingerbread house building going on tomorrow. I imagine I'll get my workout done later rather than earlier. We'll see.
Great job Roxie on getting all your abs done and LM cardio. You do abs at work?
Nice workout Nora. And yep, I live in Washington state. Between Portland and Olympia.
Nighty night....
