Could you do this?

Here is what is going on, I breed Pomeranians, I breed quality dogs and have built a name up for myself, here is the delima, I let someone bring her female over to breed with my male, well the other day I noticed he was scratching real bad so I gave him a bath and noticed stuff coming off him, I dried him and more came off, so I called the vet and going to bring him in the next day, well I didn't need to, I went back to the bathroom where I gave him the bath and noticed that stuff on the floor, and to my horror it was LICE!!!! I called the vet back and they said to bring in one and they can check to see if it was fleas of lice, well he came out of the office and said it was lice like I had thought it was, so I got special stuff to bath them in and spray the house down, and washed everything and everyone, well here it gets more interesting, the vet said THE ONLY way he can get lice is to be in close contact with an infected dog, that goes back to this lady and her dog, well she had brought me another female the other day, I called her up to pick up her dog, and the only thing she said, well will shy still breed with her? is she nuts????? he wasn't feeling well from the lice attack he was under, well she came yesterday to pick up her dog and she had the nerve to tell me she was going to take her to another breeder to breed her female!!!! the audacity of her to go and infect another dog,

EWWWWW!!!!!! I hope they didn't infest your house! Can't you report this to the AKC or something, just to make sure this person doesn't infect other dogs?

I am going to look into this, I know she has infected other dogs with it, she has no feelings for anyone else or other dogs all she cares about is breeding her dogs for money!!! and I am just sick with myself for alowing her to breed to my male, her dogs are not even good quality dogs that should be bred, I am just sick about it, I have been telling others about her though, and I know some breeders that won't sell a dog or puppy to her, and she is mad because a top breeder will sell me a puppy and not her, and she will sell me one of her champion males for only $500 and she is just upset that I can get a dog from her and she can't, LOL,

It can infect the house, I have cleaned and cleaned and cleaned and sprayed and sprayed everything in the house down, and today I am in such great pain from all the work I have been doing, and that upsets me more she did that, she didn't even care that I went through all that work to rid the house of lice, she acted like lice was no big deal. Lice can kill a dog. it can suck their blood and cause anemia and therefore the dog can die,

From what your saying, this woman doesn't sound at all like a responsible, ethical breeder who's trying to better the breed.

I doubt the AKC would do anything, but do you belong to a local Pomeranian club chapter or anything similar where you might be able to give people a heads up? This woman might have a track record with others.

Just reading your post is making me itch!!!

Edited to add: I'm not a litigious person by nature, but I am fiercely protective of my dogs. If I were a breeder and someone knowingly exposed my dogs to something that could have such dire consequences, I'd be filing a lawsuit...even if it was just to cover the vet/cleaning bills.

Also...would neglecting to treat your own dogs for lice be considered a form of animal neglect? I know in some areas it is with ticks. You might try contacting animal control. Maybe they would warn her and wake her up.

I'm still scratching!!!

I do feel bad, But I do treat my yard with that stuff, I have never ever had a problem with anything with my dogs, I am also going to join a pomeranian club here where I live, and I also contacting other breeders I do know and informing them of her, I can't put a tick collor on my dogs since they are TONS of fur and it tangles in their heavy coat, so I spray their kennel and our yard and yes I do pride our yard on being almost all bug free except spiders. I also have stopped studding my male and only do it if they can present a vet certificate saying the female is in perfect health, and free from all disease. But for now I am just focusing on keeping my dogs healthy and prefecting the breed, and keeping the breed to AKC standards, I am very very picky now days on who I sell to and who comes through,
