Could someone explain this please???

I am an advanced exerciser and have been working out for years. I have been exercising faithfully with Cathe for the past 4 months. My rotations are basically 2xstrength training, 2xcircuit training and 2xcardio each week. And I change the workouts I use each month. Except for Imax2. I use that one once a week every week. I also go to the gym twice a week in the afternoon.

I had my fat% measured in April at the gym. And I decided to clean up my already healthy diet to decrease fat% and loose 10 pounds. So I cut out all sugar and white flour. As I was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome a month ago, I also cut out all carbs.

Now here's my question. I had my fat% measured again today and it has gone down by 1% only. It is now 26%. I was so disappointed!! I really expected it to have gone down a bit more than that because my measurements did go down. Not the scales though.

All that hard work and clean eating. What am I doing wrong?

Is there someone out there who can tell me what I am doing wrong?

With all the cuts you did to your diet... are you sure that you are getting enough calories? I would hate for you to send your body into starvation mode while trying so hard to cut everything from your diet that you need to. Are you cutting things out gradually? Maybe your body needs a gradual cut down, and it is very hard to cut out all carbs from a diet. You do need some carbs for energy and just for the body to function normally. I am by no means an expert, but I just thought I could give you some fuel for thought.

Take it or leave it!!:D

Hi-

How did you get your body fat measured? Was it w/ the calipers? Did the same person do it? If that is the case, take those numbers w/ a grain of salt.. they aren't usually that accurate.

I feel your pain.. I have been trying to lean up a bit too and it is coming off verrrrry slowly. Don't get discouraged.. keep remembering that by eating clean and exercising you are doing great things for your body.. it will get there eventually.

Good luck and keep us posted!
