Coordinating colors (clothes)

I just bought a new suit and I'm not sure about what colors to wear with it. It's grey (a medium tone) with a very fine aqua blue line running through it. What colors do you suggest for shirt/blouse and shoes?

I'm very far from a fashion expert..but maybe that color blue? Or white? Is the blue very noticeable?? Because I think pink/gray is a great combo!

Gray is a total neutral and if the pinstripe is small, you can almost wear any color with it-black, blue, white, pink. Shoes-black, gray, burgundy.

That's what Clinton and Stacy say, anyway.

Yep, gray is a neutral, so you can wear any color you like with it!

Really depends on the stripe and how obvious it is. Personally, I would wear a nice white shirt or a shirt the color of the blue. If you get both, each would give it a different look. Depends too on the style of the suit. Is it hip or traditional? Pants or skirt? That really impacts shoe choices, and colors as well (for tops too).

Thanks ladies. I can usually figure it out but this one has a me a little stumped!

It's a very tiny pinstripe but the blue is a pretty darker aqua color. The suit is tapered and has three quarter length sleeves. The bottom is a skirt that falls just below the knee. I typically wear just above the knee (for comfort sake more than anything else) but haven't decided whether to shorten the skirt a tad or not.

A lighter aqua coloured shirt would suit admirably. And shoes/bag could be a stunning aqua colour also or black pumps for the shoes. Play up the colour to offset the grey.

If you can wear boots with it, I'd leave it where it for the hem. If not, I think I'd raise it some but it depends on your height. If you are tall, you would be fine to leave it. If not, I'd raise it. I'd do black boots or heals (either sandals or pumps - maybe open toe?). Since it is 3/4 sleeves, you could get a few different colors to wear underneath in the form of tanks, or if the jacket has room, you could wear long sleeves and cuff them over the sleeve hem of the jacket. Just have fun

I love gray on gray or gray with, you guessed it, a bright light blue. It's a lovely combination. Very energizing.
