Coolers ~~Waiting for STS

Evening All

I am wiped. Got up and decided to get some stuff off to the Thrift Store so I'm happy. I guess I'm in a purging mood lately what with getting ready to paint.

This afternoon I did Burn Intervals along with Ab Burner. It was tough especially with being under the weather. Got started making pasta for dinner and DH suggested Chinese so it didn't take any convincing for me to take the water off the stove:p:p

Resting in bed while the little one watches cartoons beside me b/4 bed.

Kim - DH was suppose to go snow mobiling today but the -25 feels like -30's didn't suit with him. I'm am sooo looking forward to Feb. 12th:):):) 3 weeks to go.:)

Take care everyone

Hi Coolers,
I didn't work out yesterday. I was dressed for it, but decided the couch sounded better. I was going to do a long workout this morning but my folks came over and visited for a bit, which shortened my time so did a short Christi Taylor step workout. Just spent the last 4 hours at Mom's working on her table runner with she and my sister (wow, the time just flew), just ate some dinner and am planning on a circuit workout tonite. Maybe BM2? We'll see.

Patricia, LOL about how fast you could turn off the stove. Great job on your workouts. Noticing any nice changes yet? Glad your cold is better. Great that your little guy is getting better about the water. My nephew fought it for years, but I saw him last summer and he's like a fish now.

Kim, hope the church membership class went well today. -38 degrees??? Wow, I won't complain that we're only supposed to hit 34 degrees tomorrow. Lord knows there's enough to do in this house to keep me busy if I was inclined to do housework.

Laurie, how was Inkheart? When doing my 1rm's, I can kind of tell by the 5th rep if it's too light. I did record if I got 13 reps. I'm going to do each week twice so I'll have a good idea if a weight is too light or heavy by the 2nd week that I do it. I'm really looking forward to STS but won't start until Kim gets hers. I will go ahead and preview though. I think I'll do another week or 2 of 1rm's, though I may not hit all of them. I haven't done any for legs and don't feel like it either. I do want to get a weighted vest though. Will have to check out Cathe's vest as shipped to Walmart. I also need to look for those furniture slide disk thingies too. The other thing I have to use for legs is my Bowflex that has a leg squat attachment on it (I've never used it). Guess I'll have to dust that thing off.

Okay girls, I'm going to let my dinner settle, then do some calorie burning workout.

Okay, Burn Circuit #3 done. Just 2 more days left in this week's rotation then I'll start up the Push Phase. Slept in until almost 9 today so feeling better. I've done some more purging today too (clutter I mean) and now just have to get a shower in and off to the grocery store. DH and a co-worker are out for an afternoon snow mobile ride. Might wait until they're back as I don't feel like lugging DS along with me. Bought some sample paint to try on the walls so still need to get that done today too.

Jeanette - LOL about the couch. I'm sure not one of us can say that we haven't done that too:p Sometimes finding the will is pretty hard.:p:p I'm feeling tighter from CLX and sore in the butt often. My legs often feel like jello and so far my shoulder is not bothering me (too much). My eating hasn't been the greatest as I have such a hard time not eating sweets every day. I don't eat fast food and if I do it's usually Subway. I have either maintained or lost 2#'s depending on what day of the week it is. :pI'm not expecting a lot of fat loss as I only have 10#'s to lose. I do think my arms are getting stronger and leaner but I had also noticed that starting to happen pre-CLX. I've been slowly trying to lift heavier ths last few months and I think that is whats really working for me. I going to look at the breakdown of excercises in STS and see if any of the w/o's can be shortened up too. I'm liking I'm done in 40min as I like to do my own stretching which can take up to another 10-15min which then rounds up to 1hr...

Waving hi to Kim & Laurie

Ciao

Busy first half of the day now time to relax for the rest of the day. This morning got up early and did GSCT (only 2 workouts left in this rotation!!), then to church, then dd and I headed to a mall WAY across town for lunch and a build-a-bear trip. She's been wanting to go for awhile and had money from Christmas to use. She got a pink monkey to be the girlfriend of the monkey she already has and a tuxedo for him for when they decide to get married.:rolleyes:

DS and DH are off watching the curling at the arena as he got the box seats from work and invited some friends along, not my thing. DS has his second hockey practice this evening, he was so sore after the last one, he was almost in tears trying to climb out of his loft bed Friday morning. He said his whole body ached, just not used to sports after so many months off, I guess.

Patricia, are you going to be done the CLX rotation in time to do STS?? Is it warm enough for DH to snowmobile today??

Jeanette We've all done the couch thing, I need to learn to just relax and enjoy the couch if I really feel like not excercising. I usually lie on the couch and spend the whole time feeling quilty that I'm not working out it really takes away the relaxation.

Kim

I got out and did some grocery shopping. DH didn't get back until almost 5pm so I was a little bit miffed. I hate going out at night in the winter time. Oh well, I did go out as there was nothing in the house to eat and I didn't want to resort to junk food for lunch tomorrow and still have to go grocery shopping after work. Also have been busy posting things for sale/free on Kijiji tonight.

Kim - I'm trying to really commit to a rotation and stick with it! However, I'm only going to do 3 weeks of each phase:( in order to get onto STS sooner. I want to be finisihed STS b/4 baseball season starts up. Its -21 so a little bit warmer today, really sunny though. DH parked my car on the street to get the ski doo's out of the garage and I had ice on the inside of my windows. That doesn't happen too oftern.

Ok, off to bed.

Morning!

Busy Busy weekend for me. Had clean at church on Saturday morning, then cart youngest DD to dance class, then got in BBC Fat Blaster Upper Body, then got ready to go to a b'day party for a friend. Sunday was Seg 1&2 of Stretchmax, then church, and then headed to Illinois for our guilde workshop! :) And through all that I kept my eating fairly good, managed to take off a 1/2 pound. Guess I didn't sit down long enough to start munching on crap!

Patricia, Do all the interval workouts that are in CTX use weights? I want someone to come out with something like the Imax workouts, but not use the step.:D I have PlyoX and the 1:1 Plyo Leg. I must be greedy, because I want more! LOL! Are the CTX workouts getting easier for you? I remember when you almost needed another lung?

Jeanette, Loved the Inkheart movie. I think it should have been at least PG-13, because some portions of it where pretty scary. But there was a 5 year old there, and she survived. :) Love Brandon Fraser! I like your idea on completing the 1RM's. Oh I love the couch! It is may favorite spot to get that throw, and drink my coffee!

Kim, Oh I just love Build a Bear! I have given all of my nieces and nephews on of those animals. So soft and cuddly. :D

Laurie

It's Shipping!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D

I better get started on those 1RM's. Did PS Legs/abs at 5 this morning, DH got up and did it with me. :D Only have one workout left GS BSB for tomorrow but maybe I should skip it and get going on those 1 RM's. ;) I'm sure I will have at least a week till I get STS though.

Is everyone doing the Happy Dance:p:p:p:p:p

I did Burn It Up tonight along with my own stretching. So the 1st phase is over for me then I start up the Push Phase on Wed.

Kim - Hey you finished up the Jan. rotation just in time. Have fun with the 1rms

Laurie - the Burn Interval alternates cardio with weights, but the Burn it Up is all cardio. It does use the band around your ankles though and one one excercise have you reaching done with a light weight (ie 3#) and lifting it up over your head as you balance on one leg and lift the other leg off to the side. Do you have 4DS as I think the kickboxing and bootcamp ones are all cardio. I just find the bootcamp to be too high impact if memory recalls. Burn it Up was doable again tonight but I was worried as i ate pasta for dinner and didn't want to "retaste" it (probably too much info I'm sure but it didn't happen:D)

Waving hi to Jeanette

Hi Coolers,
Speaking of cooler, we had a downright nippy wind today. I did get out for a walk during my break, but almost turned around as the wind made my ears hurt. This morning was LowMax - 6 intervals. Yesterday was housework and hitting some golf balls later in the day, though it was chilly on the old hands.

Patricia, yep, the happy dance being done here! Not sure when I'll get mine. I ordered it toward the end of February and with no special shipping. West coast takes a while anyway. Maybe we'll all get ours at the same time. Sounds like you and I have the same love for sweets.

Laurie, great job on the clean eating. I went out to dinner tonite with Father Tony and a co-worker of mine. Guess what I had? Pancakes. 2 of them. For real. I'll have to look up Inkheart and read what it's about. Glad you liked it.

Kim, I have honestly never seen a build a bear, in person or the store. I live such a sheltered life. Yep, you better get started on those 1rm's. I think that's what I'm doing tomorrow morning, finish the 4 stars and start the 3 stars. It makes it easy having them designated as to their importance. Much less intimidating.

Must go,

Morning!

This morning I have done BBC Fat Blaster Upper and a Mission Specialist Abs. I will go to the gym to work on my legs and shoulders.

Kim, Have you received your shipping notice yet? I have not, but I'm going to guess that it will be at some point today that I hear. :D Guess I can start working on the 1RM's too!

Patricia, Thanks for the info on the workouts. I might have to investigate them further. Maybe go over to VF to see a breakdown. I do have the 4DS, and you are right the BC portion is a cardio interval. The KB is all cardio. I just need more and more workouts.

Jeanette, Oh you just have to love pancakes! :D Isn't it like a basic food group! :D We had cold today to. I think is was zero this morning!

Laurie

Evenings Coolers - tonight is my rest night. We're having a couple guys over for dinner and they will patch up our ceiling in the basement. Just killing some time while DH makes dinner and the guys show up.

It really is like Xmas now anticipating the arrival of STS. SOooooo jealous of those who already have it. At least no postings yet that they're defective:D

Evening,
I did 30 minutes of Amy Bento's Dome Challenge (hi-lo aerobics), then did some more 1rm's for the rest of the hour. Tonite was hitting golf balls, then sewing at Mom's. Our table runner is almost done. After that, I think I'll pick out some material for a quilt.

Laurie, zero degrees is cold enough. I can tell when my nose sticks on the inside that it's near zero. I haven't received a shipping notice either. I'm not expecting delivery until some time next week.

Patricia, hopefully there will be no problems with STS. Heaven forbid after all this time. I'm hoping it's the best series ever.

Hi Kim,

Morning!

So far this morning I have done BBC Fat Blaster Lower Body and MS Lower Beg. Changed my mind about going to the gym last night. Since I was really doing a concentrated BBC lower body day today, my thought was I should do the leg workout at the gym today instead. :D Should really have some toasty legs later tonight!

I did receive my shipping notice, and I will be getting STS on Friday! :D

Patricia, So did the ceiling in the basement get patched up?

Jeanette, Ok now I want to come and help with the quilt making. :D That has to be one of the best things to work on in a group. ;) My Mom and my Aunt make quilts together all the time.

Laurie

Evening Coolers

:DWow the boards are just a hopping these days now:D

Finished Push Circuit #1 and just finished up eating dinner. DH took DS out for a ski doo ride so I got my w/o in early.:) Tomorrow a rest day:)
I ordered the 7th disc to CLX as I'm enjoying the cardio and got it in today's mail. How can BB ship from last Thursday by USPS and I have it in a week but I know Cathe shipping USPS won't get me STS for 2-3 weeks:mad: Oh well, not complaining though.

Laurie - so how are those legs now? Lucky you on STS, hopefully no delays due to weather. The ceiling got the drywall in, now have to arrange for a taper to come in. My painter called and he is ready for me.

Jeanette - so do you have to go out and buy more weights? I'm wondering if subbing in tubing would work? I'm holding 20# in each hands for squats in CLX and see where I could go heavier. Don't own a BB and not sure that I want to.

Kim - hope all is well. Is the intern working out better now?

Take care coolers

I've been busy cruising the boards, to see some STS reviews but not much yet. Most people post that they got the workouts and they disappear. So many dvds to preview, they never come back :D Didn't workout yesterday or today. Never did get the very last workout from the Jan rotation done but tryilg not to feel guilty about it. I'm planning on starting the 1RM tomorrow night.

Patricia I'm guessing the end of next week for STS delivery to Canada. What's your prediction. DH says he figures that it will be detained at the border as the guards will think it's some kind of terrorist training program.:rolleyes:

Laurie Yay! on the sts delivery. You will have to give us some reviews on the weekend.

Jeannete have you received your notice yet??

The intern is just sucking my energy, (my coworkers calls those kind of people energy vampires). She's very sweet, but just doesn't seem to get much of the medical "stuff", I'm not sure how she got to her master's degree in rehabilitation without more knowledge. I'm pretty easy going and I'm finding myself getting frustrated as I'm explaining simple things over and over. Things she should have learned at the university before heading onto a clinical placement. The other therapist and I talked and although we hate to do it, we are going to give her some failing grades at her midterm. She doesn't take much initiative in going home to read her anatomy/medical textbooks when faced with a new diagnoses she doesn't know. We're almost done 1 month so one more to go.

Kim

Evening, Coolers!

Today's workout was doing more 1rm's, then did the abs from Butts & Guts. Got a good walk in during my break, then had Garage Boys spinning tonite. Good workout!

I got my shipping notice, but it won't be delivered until next Tuesday.

Kim, LOL about the terrorist training program! You had me laughing. Sorry about the intern. That's a bummer, but you are right in giving her the grades she deserves. Not too many reviews out there yet on STS. What I've read looks great. I'm really glad I did some of those 1rm's, though I haven't done any of the ones for legs at all. I'll have to check out how you print out a workout card. The new Workout Manager looks great. I'll have to play with it some.

Patricia, I have DB's up to 25#. I want to get a weighted vest in the near future. Also have my Bowflex squat thingie so I can use that too (though I never have). I also have some platemates that I can add to my 25# DB's. We'll see if I need to buy 30#ers. My weak points are my elbows so even if my muscles are strong enough, my elbows don't allow. Just depends on the exercise. I'll do what I can.

Laurie, this quilting thing is really fun. My sister is just plain tickled that we are doing it with her. She's made a bunch of quilts. Mom is soooooo excited again about being creative. She was on the phone just jabbering and jabbering to me about materials and colors and patterns. We are going to the quilt fabric shop on Saturday for another trip, this time for me to buy some quilt fabric. She's very eager this time :D:D:D:D:D. Does my heart good.

Must run,

Morning!

Todays workout has been BBC Fat Blaster Upper and a MS Upper Beginner. Will get to the gym tonight for Back & Triceps.

Patricia, Oh my legs where sore this morning, but of course in a good way. It was nice to get out the door and walk the dog, just wish she hadn't noticed that the deer where roaming the neighborhood at 4:30 this morning. My DH was not happy with the barking dog! I was actually not a bad morning, funny how 20 deg felt warm for me.

Kim, I have noticed the lack of reviews too. Have to guess that with all the discs, they have to be glued to the TV. :D Oh that DH of yours is one funny guy, let him know that was a good one though! :D I agree with Jeanette, if your intern isn't progressing the way she should, then she deserves the failing grade. :)

Jeanette, I am so glad that your DM is so excited about the quilting. She might want to check into the programs they have to charities if she wants to keep going with it. I know that the Ronald McDonald house has some type of quilt giving program. ;) Our church has a quilting group, and they make quilts for mission trips and new babies receive on when they get baptised.

Laurie

Kim - such a funny girl you were last night. :):) Thanks for the laughs. I completely agree with you - give a failing or not so great review. We complain about our co-op students here and then the guys reviewing them don't want to to tell them the truth about how much they s**cked. The some other poor souls get them on anther term b/c they were recommended for another term.. Just crazy. I'm predicting Feb. 9th just b/4 I go on vacation.

Tonight is supposed to be a rest night and the taper is coming tomorrow so have some last minute clean up in my w/o room.

Off to a conference call, bbl.

My 1st thought when I opened my mail box this evening and saw the key to open the bigger mail box for big packages "STS is here", but no just something else being sent to me. Oh my heart was in my chest for a moment there. Then I'm home and look out the front door which is mostly glass and see a sticker from UPS on it. Again, I get all excited as I run over to the door to look at it, but no a package my DH has ordered tried to be dropped off by UPS today. I can't tell you the letdown from the momentary high I was on both times, can you imagine:rolleyes:

Anyhow, DH swimming lessons went really well tonight. DH is out on his ski doo but when he gets home he has to snow blow the driveway out. I'm not doing it thats for sure:p;)

Have a great night everyone.

Good evening,
This morning's workout was the standing leg work from Butts & Guts. Haven't thought about what I'll do tomorrow, except probably no more 1rm's. I've done enough I think to get by.

Patricia, sorry about the false alarms on STS. Did you get a delivery notice yet? Will you be starting it soon? Enjoy your rest night.

Laurie, that's a great idea about quilting for charities. I know in the past she's enjoyed contributing items to craft fairs. We have a trip planned this Saturday to go pick out some fabric for me. Should be fun.

Kim, did you write up the intern?

See y'all tomorrow,
