~~~~Coolers in May~~~
Good Friday Morning All
We lost our BB game last night :( but by only 3 runs. Still a good game as they were in the lead and we tightened the gap, plus we had about 3 spares playing with us.
My shins are SO sore it hurts to walk! I'm wearing high-heeled slip on sandals b/c they match my outfit but I'm thinking I'll be limiting my walking today. Hope I can do Disc 12 - Legs tonight.:D
A working Sat. at the cottage planned. We're renting a cube van to take our kitchen cabinets, washer & dryer and trim to the cottage and have a whole bunch of help to get it over to the cottage. This should be the last weekend we need to get materials over there. All the kitchen cabinets are in pieces and DH will assemble and install over the next month of weekends.
Yeah our wood floors were installed this week and the bathroom tile should be finished next week.
We are so close to having this thing DONE after 9 years of building.
I do hear the Black Flies are out though - yuck.
What are you plans for the weekend?
Morning All,
After work I got in the Kickbox Strike Zone workout and used my weighted gloves. I should start dusting off some of the workouts I have not done lately. :D Today was Results 10 Days Upper and BBC MS Advanced Upper. Getting in Jillian's BFBM tomorrow morning before we had to my brothers cabin for the weekend. We will be coming back on Monday morning.
Patricia, Congrats on the win, and sorry about the loss in BB! ;) Glad you where able to enjoy the nice weather, we are not having a warm/sunny day so far. Sounds like you will have a busy weekend with all the moving of cabinets and furniture. We will be enjoying my brothers cabing this weekend, just wish it wasn't such a long drive. Sorry to hear that your shins hurt so much! But as my daughter says "who says fashion doesn't hurt!" LOL! :eek: This is from a girl who plans on going into the fashion industry.
Kim, Soon all your running around will be just a dull roar. I'm anticipating the end of track season. :D I plan on holding off on STS for now, since I had forgotten that oldest DD is going on a servant event to South Carolina in June. I don't know why, but I'm not wanting to do the STS rotation right now. :( Maybe after the summer is over with. I'm liking my current rotation right now.
Won't be posting this weekend, because the cabin doesn't have wifi.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Laurie
Hi Coolers
Fly-by post as I'm off work a little early to p/u DS. We have a JK orientation tonight at 5:30 then I have to hustle to get to my BB game at 7:15.
I did do Disc 12A LEgs on Fri. night and Disc 10B 0 S/B/C last night. Wow, I'm on the home stretch for Meso 1!
Have all is well with everyone.
Happy Memorial Day Laurie.
Ugg, I've had the stomach flu yesterday and today. Had to phone in sick to work today which I always hate to do as all the patients just get cancelled as we have no backup. Feeling better now so hope to go into tomorrow. Will catch up on personals when I feel better:eek:
Morning All,
Today my workout was JM's 30 Day Shred 1&2. Planning on getting in #3 after work. After all the eating I did this weekend it probably is good I did all three shred workouts. :eek:
On Saturday morning I decided to sub JM's BFBM for a TaeBo. Well I thought why not start with Adv#1. I looked all through my VHS tapes and couldn't find it, so I popped in the Advanced workout from original package. I like the fact that he doesn't do those double time weird video image anymore. :rolleyes: But I got in a good workout, and wondered why my butt hurt so much while driving for over 5 hours! :eek:
Patricia, WTG on getting Meso 1 almost done! :)
Kim, Sorry to hear that you are not well. Hope you start feeling better soon.
Have a great day!
Laurie
Felt a million times better today, I was actually excited to go to work just to get out of the house. This evening we went out for dinner for DH's 40th birthday and MIL's birthday. Got home and did disc 23, I found this one really hard!!
Wow, almost done Meso1 Patricia!! Most people seem to like meso 2 more, I'll be interested to see what you think. How was the JK orientation? When are you moving again?
Laurie Fall time would be a great time to start a STS rotation Laurie, I'll do a 3 month rotation with you in the fall if you like?? How was the cottage?
Morning All,
Today I had planned on doing Criss-Cross Cardio, but changed it to TaeBo Total Advanced Four. Will probably get in TaeBo Abs & Glutes after work.
Oldest DD will be going to our state track meet in the 4x400, and as an alternate in the 4x800. She is happy to be going. :)
Kim, So glad that you are feeling so much better. Tell DH happy birthday! How is he doing with turning 40? I think the fall is a great idea for the STS rotation. I will have more time, since my weekends will be taken up with faire. Workouts tend to come second place during that time. ;) I want to do a 3mo rotation also. I don't think I could do anything longer. :D Had a great time at the cottage, no rain all weekend. Ate to much rhubarb pie though! :rolleyes:
Patricia, Yes how did the JK orientation go? :)
Have a great day!
Laurie
CONGRATS to your dd! I'm sure that she is very excited!!!
Home from work early as the school called that dd was sick. Poor little thing is sleeping. My plan is to low max or one of it's premixes this evening.
Patriica, I'm kind of toying with the idea of doing a round of CLX before another round of STS. What do you think? Do you think I would like it? Kim
Evening All
Been busy for a change at work so 1st time I've been on the boards in a couple days.
The JK orientation was fun for DS. The held a bus orientation and took us for a ride around the block. I could tell he was apprehensive at first then really started to enjoy himself. Hmm, what would be your 1st impression when the Principal announces that she will be the Vice Principal next year and a new Principal is starting. Would you take that as a demotion? DH made a funny joke to her (completely unrelated) and it flew over her head.:eek: Last night was DS's 1st T-ball so lots of 1st this week for him.
I did Disc 11B last night and tonight tried out a new CIA DVD - Step Surge by Tonya Larson. It was fun with good music, however, nobody beats Cathe on sound & video quality.
Laurie - great news for your DD. Wasn't she an alternate only last year? If so this is great that at least for one of the events she is running for sure. I love watching track & field on t.v. I'm in on a 3mo STS in the fall. I think I want to try a circuit rotation and or band rotation after this rotation 1st though. How are you using 30D Shred. I found 1 combo not enought but put 2 together and it was tough! But I'm just not sure when to fit it into a rotation.
Kim - Yes, I'm looking forward to the reduced reps in M2! Thats one thing I liked about CLX. I think you would like it especially for the summer for the time commitment. You just have to get used to doing combination moves. I'd be glad to lend you my set seeing as I have 2! The hardest thing to get used to after doing the 2nd phase (push) was the 3rd phase you were back up to 12reps. Phase 1 was 12reps, Ph2 8 reps, Ph3 back to 12 reps and not lifting that much lighter from Ph2. I also started to see some thinning in my legs as they're worked out 4x a week and loved the used of the band around the ankles. Hope you and DD recover quick.
So with the t.v. season pretty much over I've been reading a lot of books so off to get involved into one now.
Take care.
Patricia, I'll take you up on that very generous offer. I would pay all shipping expenses and promise to ship it back the second I was done with it:D:D I somehow don't think I would ever do a second round of it.
I'm thinking I would do it August/Sept/Oct and then start round two of STS (3month rotation) as the STS cardio should be here by then.
The bus orientation sounds fun maybe it's good that the principal is becoming the VP:confused:
DD is stilll sick but DH will stay home for a couple of hours and then my MIL (who is a retired children's hospital nurse) is coming over. She had her own dr's appt so will come after. Mommy's feel so guilty not being home with your sick one and guilty if I phone in and cancel patients. :( At least I'm off till Tuesday after today.
Morning All,
Today I will get in JM's NMTZ after work. Doggie daycare day today! :D
Kim, So sorry to hear that your DD is sick. I totally understand about the guilt of leaving a sick child for work. :( Only thing that saved us sometimes was my DH working 2nd shift. Then I would only have to take off a half day.
Patricia, LOL on the principal. The girls went to an elementary school where the principal sent home a her first letter. I couldn't read it because of the misspelling, and sentence structure. She was horrible at dicipline also. The current elementary school my youngest attends is so much better. So you will probably be thankful that the district decided to demote her. :D How nice of you to lend CLX to Kim. :D Yes my oldest was an alternate last year, good memory. ;) Ok so by the fall I should be ready for STS! :D
Have a great day!
Laurie
Morning All
Definetly needed my 2 cups of java today. I've been up since 2:30 with DS who has been sick on and off all night. Just finally got him to go to sleep now. He'll have to stay home tomorrow too. Haven't had time to discuss who will stay home with him tomorrow either. Its my turn to help with our Fri. BBQs so I should go in:p
Kim - its hard not being their for your kids. Even when I leave DS with DH I always feel guilty and partly who can look after your child better than a mother. I forgot to answer your question about moving. I'm speculating that we will be moving next Feb/Mar. We have 1 yr left on this project but feel we all won't be needed next summer. I'll know better probably this Oct. We're just anxious b/c we don't know what the future holds b/c we will be moving. Its not like finishing a project and not knowing what your next project is? Not knowing when we will be moving is frustrating and now that there is 1 yr left you start speculating. I can't believe almost 2yrs has gone by already. Plus I think some of the team are fed up with each other. Usually you're on a project for 2 yrs or so. This is a 3yr job so personalities are starting to clash.:rolleyes: I've loaned out CLX to a woman down the street. I'll make sure to get it back from her early July to mail it to you.
Laurie - isn't it funny our perspectives on Teachers? When ever we disagree on a decision or opinion of someone and find out they're a teacher we just roll our eyes as if that explains it! They've never worked in the "real" world. Did you know that they have what is called a 4-5 program. For 4 years they receive only 80% of their wages and can take the entire 5th year off and get paid the balance of the 20% not previously paid. Sign me up for that program:p
Well, I'm suppose to do Disc 12B Legs today but not sure if I'll have enough energy or not. I've tried napping already but I'm just not the napping type. Will play it by ear.
Take care
Morning All,
Well today I scheduled myself to do Jillian's BFBM (getting in after work), but I decided to do a TaeBo workout instead. TaeBo Celebrity Fit Sculpt. This is only a 43 min. workout, and that is about all the time I had. :) JM's workout clock's in at 50 min. Cami was sniffing alot this morning, so our walk took a bit longer. :D This Taebo workout has a huge fun factor for me, because Billy is very motivational. :D He seems to be having a great time coaching us all through the 40 min. :D I'm glad I changed it up.
Patricia, Hope you DS gets better soon. Wow what a payment plan for those teachers. I wouldn't mind taking off of work for that. :) Are you being the BBQ expert today? :) Did you have enough energy to get in your workout yesterday? When you are tired it can get very dificult for motivation.
Have a great day,
Laurie
I'M DONE MESO 1
Just finished it now. Its not like I dread doing it but it feels good to be this far into the program now. I'm also looking forward to trying some new DVDs next week too.
DS is doing much better. You wouldn't even know he was sick yesterday. Thats kids for your - recover quickly.
Laurie - Does Billy count alot in the Celebrity Series. I've looked and have hesitated to buy them. I got a used one at a garage sale last year, and in the 1st 3 min of the WU he just turned me off. I remember doing him years ago with my sister though but he moves so fast. My DH had to stand in for me at the BBQ:p as I stayed home with DS again today. And there are leftovers that he is bringing home for dinner so I don't have to cook.;)
Kim - are you enjoying your day off?
DH is going to work at the cottage this weekend to start asssembling our kitchen cabinets so its just me and DH. Its coldish and rainy here the last few days and doesn't look like its going to let up. I have to figure out what to do to keep DS occupied or I'm going to go stir crazy.
Bye for now.
Well dd was still very sick today and so I took her into the pediatrician, he took one look at her and decided to do a chest xray, urine and labs. Everything came back normal, he was quite surprised as he was sure she had a pneumonia. So he figures it's just a really bad virus but I'm to call him tomorrow if she doesn't start turning around.
Patricia Glad your ds is feeling better! Congrats on finished Meso1, enjoy your rest week!! So is you neighbour doing CLX? How is she liking it?
Laurie Are you still going to the gym?
I got KPC done today and disc 24 (back/biceps) done yesterday. I have one more week then I'm done Meso 2! I'm ready for that recovery week! Kim
Just wanted to share pics of the half marathon that ds and I ran as 2 many relay. I ran the first 6.5 miles and he ran the second. See the first picture, it's of ds nearing the finish line and I'm standing ( in the red jacket) to join him so we can cross the finish line as a team. The second pic is of him leaving me in the dust which the bystanders found quite funny. I'm in the purple shirt/sunglasses running with my friend.
www.marathon-photos.com Choose the Winnipeg Police Service half marathon on the left hand side and then bib number 2134
Kim - great pics from the Marathon. Looks like you had a nice day for it too. Did you go in it last year too? The name just sounds familiar. Hope DD gets over her virus quick.
DS seems all recovered from whatever upset his stomach. We got up and went out for breakfast early and played at the park. It has a little train ride and 2 carousels which have opened up for the season so we went on some rides of course. Spent some time pulling dandelions and will do more after lunch. Finally some sun here after 2 days of rain and coolish temps.
Will try to get some cardio in today. Just me and DS for the weekend as DH working at the cottage and due home until sometime Sunday. I've decided we will go to DQ as a treat after dinner:p
:p
Have a nice weekend everyone.
Woke up to a BLANKET of snow GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Sure hope my flowers that I planted last weekend survive. I spent several hours yesterday pulling dandelions so figured that was enough of a w/o for me:rolleyes:
Must get some cardio in today.
Snow!!!:confused::confused::confused:OMG! I put blankets over the garden on Friday night as there was a frost warning but nothing happened! Hope your plants are ok!
I have done the policeman half marathon the last 3 yrs. I've always done it as the two man relay. It's a very well organized race with nice finisher's gifts and a free pancake breakfast after. Its done by the Cops for Cancer group.
I played a hour of tennis with ds this afternoon for my cardio, a nice change to hanging out in the basement.
DD is slowly getting better and did go play with her cousin this afternoon. I have tomorrow off work as ds has an opthamaology (?sp) appt at the Children's Hospital tomorrow. This is an annual event for him as he has some visual problems.
Kim
