~~~~Coolers in March~~~
Afternoon Coolers
I was such a good girl last night and went to bed at 10, but DH stayed up to watch t.v. to 11 so of course I couldnt' get too sleep:confused: Then DS woke up 2x so when that alarm went off forget it:D I was good though and went home at lunch and did Burn Circuit #3. I felt so rushed to eat something then get back to work though. Driving back it was "move it move it move it" to all the other cars:D:D
I don't know what's up with the tempting treats in the lunchroom this week. Today it was no-sugar added pumpkin pie - easy for me to resist as I want the sugar:)
Laurie - Oh, so one of the Insanities that I could actually do! Yea, MMA's are certainly doable!
Kim - We should have a contest who can sell their house the quickest this summer:p DH sold one of our snow mobiles today so the garage is a little less full!
Morning Coolers,
Core Cardio and Balance. Tomorrow is the last time I will be doing this one.
Patricia, I'm with you on the sugar in the pumpkin pie. I don't think I would be tempted by that either. Oh yes this Insanity workout is very doable. Sorry to hear about the sleep. I usually can't fall asleep with DH in the bed, because he is the one that always stays up later. :D
Have a great day!
I drained the waterbed yesterday and was so tired afterwards! I was very tempted to skip my workout but I was a good girl and did disc 27 Bi/Tri/Shoulders. These Meso 3 workouts are kind of boring sometimes!
Laurie So are you all ready for month 2 of Insanity? Have you previewed any of the workouts? I only did week 1 of month 2 but as I remember the workouts are similar just longer.
Patricia LOL on the housing contest! What is the housing market like in North Bay? Do things sell fast there? The market is really good here so hopefully will sell fast. Isn't it great to see space opening up in the house?
I'm pretty impressed that you can home at lunch to workout, the convinence of a smaller city!
I was quite lazy this weekend (in between piano lessons and hockey games). I don't know why but I just was so tired feeling. I kept reading/watching tv and saying after this chapter/show I would get up and do some house projects. I got a few little things done but not much. I even ended up having a 2 hour nap this afternoon. Oh well, I guess I needed the rest. I did do Athletic Step/Ab Circuits yeterday and disc 28 chest/back today. My upper body has DOMS all over with Meso 3 and the water bed draining.
One more week of work then a week of holidays!!
What was everyone up to this weekend??
Morning Coolers
Nice crisp sunny day here for the 1st week of spring!
Lets see, Friday I did Recharge (just stretching) and Sat. I did Burn it Off - not as tough as 30/30 but close:D Yesterday was the beginning of week 2, so Burn Circuit 1 again. These w/os are deceptive. I also added on Slim Series Express Cardio Core. Chalene's w/os and stretches are pretty short so I'm going to try and add in some extra light cardio and stretching where I can.
DH had tickets to the Leafs vs Canadiens game in T.O. on Sat. so he took a friend and was gone for the weekend. I took DS 5-pin bowling on Sat. Do you know how hard it is to hold/throw a bowl when you're forearms are KILLING YOU. I forgot how much my forearms ached from CLX last year:rolleyes:
Kim - the houseing market here has been great. We're in a desirable neighbourhood and priced right I'm hoping we sell with-in a week or so. Fingers are x-d:p Sounds like you needed the rest so lucky you that you were able to take advantage of a slow weekend for a change. Is the waterbed getting packed up and sold? I thought I saw that N.Dakota was getting some rain/flooding. How is your neck of the woods so far?
Laurie - I got a message from my Mom that she got me BBC so I know what I'll be doing after CLX. I think these w/os will work well with playing BB this summer. Can you believe it, already thinking about summer!
I think I'm doing 30/30 again tonight and then Recharge.
Morning Coolers,
Max Interval Circuits is finished. Dang tough workout, and I'm looking forward to seeing my endurance increase with this one.
Kim, I have not previewed any of these workouts, so I'm going in with both feet. I to had a lazy weekend, and there was no motivation to do anything but my workouts. I was reading/watching TV also. ;)
Patricia, That would be great for the house to sell quick. I think that BBC will be great workouts for the summer. You will get a great workout with those. I have always found them to be quick and effective.
Have a great day!
Fargo, North Dakota is on high alert with highways closed, sand bagging, etc but the rest of the Red River Floodway looks like it should be okay for this year. Fargo really needs to build a floodway which they seem to actually be looking into! It really bugs DH that Fargo North Dakota is a city of 100,000 with 3 professional size hockey rinks/concert stadiums but no floodway and we're a city of 650, 000 with only one hockey rink and a floodway built in the 1950s' that has saved the city multiple times.
Everyyear when North Dakota is on the news looking for volunteers to come help sandbag to save the city from flooding he's yelling at the tv "stop building arenas and build a floodway". LOL The priorities of the North Dakotans are odd. The city of Grand Forks (2 hrs away from us) was pretty much completely destroyed in the 1997 flood, and they finally built a floodway.
30/30 done and I also did a 1.5 mile run on the tm. Hadn't done that in a way and it felt good!
Morning Coolers
Kim - we must have been channeling each other as I did 30/30 last night too! And I did Recharge afterwards so stuck to my guns and didn't wimp out of stretching:p
Good to hear you're not getting the floods this year. I hear you on the priorities. :mad:
Laurie - funny, how we find the "energy" to w/o and then sit on our butts the rest of the time:D I'm okay with that:)
Morning Coolers,
Max Interval Plyo is finished. Not as intense as yesterdays workout, lot's of good body weight exercises. Was suprised that my thutt area was really sore yesterday. Suffering a little bit today too. He does a lot of squat type moves in these, so I'm guessing that is why I'm sore.
Kim, LOL you don't even want to get me started on how the gov't spends money unwisely! :rolleyes: Glad you are not getting the flooding.
Patricia, Hey my butt needed to be sat on! :D I think the foam in the sofa is like a foam roller isn't it. :eek:
Have a grea day! :D
Morning Coolers
Last night I did Burn Circuit #2 along with Extreme Abs. That was tough.
We're going down to the Cottage Show this weekend in T.O. Leaving Fri. night to stay with the in-laws which is a slight detour for us then we're all driving down together, going to the show, staying the night at BIL's then driving home Sunday. So, looks like I'll have to run home again on my Fri. lunch to get Burn #3 in. Guess I'll miss out on Sat. w/o as it's cardio, but hopefully I'll make up for it with walking at the show:) I guess spending $$ doesn't count for a workout:D
Are you still sore Laurie?
Max Cardio Conditioning is finished. This is my favorite of the Insanity workouts. Totally happy with my Insanity purchase.
This morning I was watching the BBL commercial, but not tempted by that one yet. Have heard that there are some that are combining the Insanity with BBL. All I know is that these last three workouts really worked the butt/legs, so have to wonder what you legs would feel like doing a combo of these two. :eek:
Patricia, Sounds like a fast paced, but fun weekend you have coming up. My legs where feeling pretty good this morning, but we will see how they feel later this afternoon. We did a lot of squat type exercises again, so I'm expecting some more DOMS. What are you planning on spending your $$$ on at the cottage show?
Have a great day!
Evening Coolers
Wow, no gas in the tank this evening! Did Burn Intervals and struggled:eek: Oh well, that's life. Busy watching Survivor - exciting episode tonight!
Laurie - looking at furniture, like bunk beds and maybe pull-out couch - but just looking though. DH is also talking to some timber framers to finish building our porch/deck. You know, nothing else video-wise really interests me at the moment. Well, now that BBC is on it's way to me:p And now that I think about it, I'm looking at Stephanie Hucklebee's Harmony system coming out next month. It's cheap and uses a band. I think it's a bit on the beginner/intermediate side but I like having "easier" w/os on hand. Though, sometimes I just can't take her Southern accent - like on the Firms!:rolleyes:
I thought the Insanity workouts would be just your style Laurie!
So what happens with the cottage if you get transferred somewhere further away??
I was out last night at a coworker's farewell, it's like a soap opera at work lots of comings and goings, firings, etc:(
I have to work Friday because it's so busy so tried tonight to get all my Friday errands done. ONly one more day of work and then 10 days off!
DS is having asthma trouble again, got to keep a close eye on him.
Morning Coolers,
Had an off site meeting yesterday, so didn't have a chance to post. Today's workout was Max Interval Circuit, and yesterday was Max Recovery.
Patricia, That kind of person really gets me mad. I purchase things all the time, because that is my job. I can't tell you how many times I have had to change shipping charges on my purchase orders, because of weight issues. Quotes can always be revised, and that is what they did with the e-mail. That person was trying to get something for free, and why everyone on that site was backing her up was amazing. Have fun with you shopping, sounds like it will be a good time.
Kim, Take care of that DS of yours, must be stressful to have to worry about that. That must be nice to be able to think of having 10 days off, it just will make those days of having to work go quick. Hopefully. :D
Have a great day!
Patricia, I went and read that thread, I don't think you were being harsh at all! Your post was very logical. I have to admit my first reaction was $11 to ship the push/pull tower to Canada, that has to be wrong. Personally I would have checked into into it more.
Didn't work out yesterday as took ds to a friend's curling game as he wanted to try throwing a few rocks to see how he liked it. He's keen on signing up next year.
Well, it's SPRING BREAK, it feels so good to be off work. We're planning on a combination of some fun activities (like family outings to swimming, museums, movies), some down time and getting some house projects complete. Today is disc 30 and then I really have to get some house work done then we'll see. It's great to have an open schedule.
Good Monday Morning Coolers
Yeah for a short work week:):)
Friday I worked out on my lunch hour. Did Burn it Off so was nice and sweaty for the afternoon! Atleast it's "clean" sweat:) Had a good time visiting with family this weekend and spent $$ at the cottage show. We've been looking a bunk beds and finally found one we liked. We also stopped at Lazy Boy on the way home Sunday and bought a pull-out couch and 2 arm chairs. All to be delivered in about 2 months. So now we have to get cracking finishing painting at the cottage as I told DH, I'm sick of moving stuff to get work done!
Got in Burn Circuit 1 last night and my pecs are talking to me today! I've been doing push up off the seat of the couch. Trying to work up to "real" PU as doing them on the knees for 20yrs hasn't gotten me anywhere:eek:
Kim - talk about curling! We watched the Scotland vs Canada game Sat. night. Boy, the Canadian Skip just could not make a single shot. We lost HUGE. It was funny, a room full of people all trying to tell thru the t.v. the Skip what to do:D Have a fun spring break:)
Hope you had a nice weekend Laurie.
Morning Coolers,
What a busy weekend! Saturday was just crazy, but I did manage to get my workout of Max Cardio Plyo finished. Oldest DD received two 3rd place metals, and an Event Champ T-Shirt at her indoor track meet on Saturday. Sunday was also her 17th birthday, but we had to spend it at DH's brothers house. We celebrated Easter with his family yesterday. Was really glad the she was so mature about spending her birthday that way.
This morning was Max Cardio Conditioning.
Kim, Enjoy your time on spring break! So will curling conflict with hockey, or do they run those at different times.
Patricia, Comfy furniture for the cabin. There is nothing like motivation to get something done. :D
Have a great day!
Morning Coolers,
Max Interval Circuit is finished. That is about it for me today, we are suppose to be getting some warm weather starting today. Hope it requires that we don't have to wear a jacket! :D
Have a great day!
We're sure enjoying our week off, getting lots done and doing some fun stuff. Yesterday we repaired some stucco, went through ds's clothing, went to some show homes, and dd had her piano lessons. We did go to the park and fly a kite:D and went out to dinner.
Yesterday was disc 31 and today is Hitt 40/20 and abs. The best part about being off is relaxing with coffee/newspaper in the morning and not hurrying anywhere:D
CONGRATS to your dd on the 3rd place finished Laurie! Does your dd have plans for her 17th birthday with her friends? Curling will be a set night of the week but hockey is all over the map. Hockey will take priority if they happen to be the same night especially if he still is the only goalie.
Patricia, when are you opening up the cottage?? What do you have left to do up there?
