HAPPY NEW YEAR

Am I ever glad today is a rest day as I'm operating on 4.5hrs sleep. We let DS stay up until 10 but he had us up by 7am today:eek:

We had a great time with our friends. Dinner was great and afterwards just sat around and chatted while DS had played Lego StarWars on PS2. It keeps him occupied;)

The electrican is back today and the breaker for the hot water tank must be off as I just took a COLD shower!

Kim - did you work up the courage to go out? Congrats to your DS on the hockey! While everyone has committed to go to LV no one really cares to stay at the same hotel. I just know DH doesn't want to stay at the Luxor b/c of the slanted rooms:rolleyes: I don't have any preference so whatever is the best deal when we book I guess!

Take care,

Happy New Year!! Very cold here and everything is closed. I thought Wal-mart would be open but it's even closed up! So having a nice quiet day at home. Packed up the china cabinet and did a workout. Gave up on waiting for Cathe's January rotation, and did Travel Fit with DH. Nice light workout for a holiday.

We did get out to see Harry Potter last night. I thought it was really well done but kind of frustrating that it's in two parts.

Will you get time for a nap Patricia? Do you get Monday off for New Year's?

Morning Coolers

I didn't go outside at all yesterday - rain rain rain. Did house work and we had company for dinner. Off to meet DH's Aunt and cousin for lunch today. I took down all the Xmas decorations last night so now it just feels like a normal weekend. Back to reality and back to work tomorrow!

Intensity is on the schedule today. I'm short on sleep so this could be fun! I'll wait until the afternoon when I have the most energy.

Kim - what do you mean about HP and 2 parts? Does the movie leave you hanging? I've only seen a couple of them and never followed the series.

I can't believe Cathe hasn't posted the January rotation yet, you would think it would be a great PR tool for the company.

The last Harry Potter book is being done in 2 parts. I think they did a great job of adapting the book but yeah, you are left kind of hanging. If they tried to do it all in one book they would had to skip lots or make it a 6 hour movie though. I'm glad they stuck to they story.

Is your ds interested in reading the books yet? DS and I started reading them at bedtime when he was in Kindergarten so about the same age as your ds. It was the first book to really capture his attention. I have great memories of reading the series together and then I read them all a second time with dd.

Monday is a holiday here for most people in lieu of New Year's Day on Saturday as most people worked Friday.

I can't believe that you're having rain, I alway picture the Toronto area with snow at this time of year. Is this winter warmer than usual?

Cathe posted the Jan. rotation which looks intense but that's what I need after a Dec vacation to an all inclusive and then Christmas holidays so got started with HITT double wave pyramid. That one always goes fast.

Went over to see the new house, things are sure moving along now! The basement is framed with a furnace, hot water tank, bathtub! My workout area is larger than we thought as I believed the area under the stairs would be part of the storage room but it's part of the rec room, perfect area to store my equipment. I tried out some grapevines and tuck jumps in the workout area, it's compact but perfect!! It's actually smaller than what I have now but now I use the family room area and in the new house it's going to be a dedicated area.

DD and I went shopping for curtains for her new bedroom while ds and DH went off to curling and hockey.

I saw the Jan. rotation - funny how fat loss = more cardio?????? No thanks but I am getting bored of the Dec rotation (what else is new;);)) I haven't had enough sleep the last 2 nights so instead of doing Intensity I did 30/30 instead.

Exciting progress on the house. A lot will happen in the next few weeks.

We get a mix of really bad winters then "easy" winters. It's turned cold here again if you call -3 cold!:p:D

Morning Coolers,

Sorry I was MIA during my vacation, just didn't have a lot of motivation to get on the computer. I did STS Discs 1, 17 and 5 last week and then nothing else. Was enjoying my time with the family and of course running around to everything that we where invited to. I did the usual New Years Eve dinner for our friends, so that day was super busy for me. Love the holidays, but sure am glad that they are done.

This morning was KPC, and will have to try to clean that DVD up because it sure is hard to do some moves when the disc freezes.

Patricia, Our Wii has been getting a workout with our DD's. They received Dance Party 2, and have been having a lot of fun with that. I have yet to try our Indiana Jones Lego game yet, but I'm sure it will be fun. ;) Got that one for DH. LOL We are in the cold around here too.

Kim, Not much longer for you to be in that new house. ;) I'm guessing that all of you are really excited. My dd didn't say much about the new HP movie, but then again she probably wouldn't talk to ME about that they are not something that I'm to interested in. What color did your dd decided for her room?

Have a wonderful day!

Last day of holidays for me then back to work tomorrow! (jury duty on Thursday:confused:)

I did 40 mins of running on the tm and ab circuits (plates and weights) from the Jan rotation. This rotation is just my style as I'm a cardio junkie and haven't had much lately with some of the new workouts thrown in. But there is a big time factor so we'll see if I can fit it all in.

My niece and nephew are coming over after lunch. DS and my nephew are going with ds's hockey team to watch the Under 17 World cup tournament which is being held in our city. I think it's the Canada vs. USA game. I'm going to take the two girls to an indoor mini golf centre.

Laurie Glad you had a good holiday and took some time off from working out!!!! DD has a underwater/dolphin theme going on in her room We found some nice green/blue curtains that fit at Jysk (an IKEA copycat store) that were only $20 a panel. So with 2 panels and a rod it was fairly in expensive. We took the curtains, and her bedding to her new room as it's been painted and it all seems to match/fit. I didn't want to spend too much as I'm sure in a couple of years she'll want something different. It's nice to have one window taken care of:rolleyes:

A couple of times lately my dvds were freezing up so much that I went and dug up the VHS version of the same workouts. I'm glad that I sent have the VCR and the VHS versions.

Patricia, hope the first day of work went smoothly!

Evening Coolers

Just finished STS TB - did the single set pre-mix (no abs). It moves fast and I have to pause the DVD to get set-up. Some of the sets are 16 reps and some are 12 reps. I feel so blah from over indulging. I'm looking forward to some cardio tomorrow and getting back to my normal clean eating.

Kim - quiet day at work. I was very caught up b/4 Xmas so I could be relaxed and not frantic. A lot of people are still off until tomorrow so not many calls/emails:p So fun to see the colours on the walls. Anymore pics? I just took a video of our basement b/4 the drywall starts going ont omorrow - Incase we need to know what's behind the walls for some reason down the road. I'm picturing you as a cardio junkie from the 80's with sweat band and leg warmers:p:D

Laurie - Hey, atleast you got the important w/os in - who needs cardio (psst - don't tell Kim I said that:p) It sure is fun visiting/hosting but I expect going back to work for most of us is more of a break! DS is playing way too much PS2 - must look into something that wlll keep him in active. It was so easy to let him play while the adults got adult time but now we've created a monster:mad: I think KPC must be freezing from over use! Hey - is there a lifetime warranty on them from Cathe?

Morning Coolers,

After work I got in Insanity Fast & Furious and Jillian's 6 Week 6-Pack workout #1. Really enjoyed the 6w6p workout, and my abs are quite sore right now. :) This morning was STS Disc 30 Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps. I don't know if I could forget which muscles I worked this morning, they are all sore right now.

Kim, The January rotation sounds like a good one, I looked at it yesterday. She even has one day of double workouts! Your dd's room sounds really nice, and I'm sure that she will change her mind as she gets older. I know my youngest is ready for a change in her bedroom. ;)

Patricia, I have to pause the DVD player in some of the STS Meso 1 workouts, I don't have the wide assortment of weights that Cathe and crew have. :D I will try cleaning the DVD and if that doesn't work plead my case to SNM. :)

Have a great day!

Today was a day of double workouts, so did the 30 min brisk walk on the tm before work and did STS Total body this evening (DH did this one with me). The new biggest loser starts tonight so I'll be watching that.

Oh Patricia, it's easyfor those little boys to get addicted to those video games. Why do the girls never get addicted? Are you going to put in some time restrictions? My sister has the 2 boys ages 4 and 7 and they are big time tv/video game addicts. I think it's so much easier for her and then she can have her own time. I always bite my tongue as we each have our own parenting styles. Is ds going to try skating lessons again this winter?

I haven't done house pictures in awhile, I'll try and do some the next time I'm there. I was taking pics at different steps just like you did for the basement, so that it can be used for reference down the road if needed.

Laurie, how are you choosing your STS workouts?

Evening Coolers

Just finished Imax2 - you'll be proud of me Kim I finished it entirely. That doesn't happen too often:D After work took DS to swimming lessons. His skating lessons are over the season - DH couldn't get him signed up again, but my BIL made his own rink in his backyard so just waiting for the weather to turn cold again to be able to use it!

Does anyone watch "V" - it started up again tonight.

Kim - DS says to me tonight - no more video games until the weekend. That was voluntarily!!! It sure is easy to let him play so I can w/o earlier in the evening though, however, I like to spend time with him especially practicing his readying and writing. He also enjoys Skip BO and Uno which are good skills games I think!

Laurie - that must be a new w/o from Jillian? Lots of crunches??

WTG Patricia! Isn't that ninth blast a killer!

So ds just had enough of the video games! That's a good sign. Is he back at school yet, my kids go back tomorrow. Although they're complaining, I think they're pretty bored and ready to return.

Nope don't watch "V".

Intensity is on schedule for today, DH said to wait till after supper and he'll do it with me. So I slept in this morning.

Tomorrow the kids are back at school, I'm off to jury duty then ds has a hockey game across the city. After being so lazy it's going to feel like a crazy day. I'm going to take the kids to my mom's in the morning and she will take them to school as I have to be at jury duty earlier than they have to be at school. They're going to go home with the cousins after school as I'll still be at jury duty. Hopefully this routine will be short lived.

Morning Ladies,

Todays workout was Disc 35 Plyo Legs, and it sure was fun! :D

Kim, Hope your jury duty isn't a long drawn out process. Mine was about 2 min., it took longer to get through security than to find out our case was cancelled. :D Glad you are enjoying the rotation! I've incorporated Cathe's Oct '09 rotation, and kind of made it my own. I took out the step workouts, and inserted Insanity and kickboxing in it's place. I just know I wouldn't be a happy person with workouts that I would dread doing.

Patricia, That is so great that you ds made that decision. I do not watch "V" either. I think that this might be the third version of that kind of show, I remember in the 80's that there was something similar to this theme. The Jillian workout is new, but not heavy on crunches. There is a description of the exercises over at vf, I think the thread is "Where is Jillian's 6 Pack". :D

Have a great day!

Intensity is done! DH did it with me, entertaining to watch him do the step section;)

Hopefully my jury day will be as short as yours Laurie!

I turned on Oprah while making supper today and she had on teenage heartthrobs from the past. Shaun Cassidy was on! It was neat to see:eek:

Oh Kim - how did Shaun look?? Did he age well? I just LOVED him:p Hope your JD goes okay today. LOL at your DH. Hey, you must have 2 steps!

Last night I did Lower Body Blast - I really do enjoy that one. Its intense but doable! Had to take DS to Wally World for new indoor shoes and a B.D. gift for a party this weeked. Then booked our flights to LV for March. Just have to decide what hotel we want to stay in now.

Laurie - any recs from DH for hotels in LV. Doesn't he go there for work at least once a year? We're going over Nascar weekend.

Morning Coolers,

Not a good start to my morning, the VHS player decided to quit working. My Cardio Kicks tape is stuck half way into the machine. Since that is my only copy I decided to try Janis Saffell's Kick It, but that wasn't as much fun. :( Oh well.

Kim, Hey at least you DH was moving that body of his, mine doesn't like exercise at all. Shaun Cassidy what a blast from the past. He and his brother where so cute! ;) I don't know that I have seen pictures of him recently so don't know if he is still so fab to look at. I have seen Leif Garrett, and he looks like he got run over by a truck about 300 times.

Patricia, I'm going to sub in LBB for one of my plyo workouts, everyone says how fun that one is that I just need to try it. :) When DH is out in Vegas they like staying at MGM. I will double check on why. :D DH and I want to go to that track also.

Have a great day!

Jury duty was umm, interesting. It was a very long day and the outcome wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. I guess I will be spending a few weeks in the court system. I have 2 weeks before the case starts.

Shaun Cassidy looked great although I don't think I would have ever recognized him. They had a lady on who had a ticket stub from his 1976 concert, it cost $8.50.:p He sang a medley of his hits, I hadn't heard some of those songs in 30 years, it was quite the blast from the past.

I'm supposed to do KPC tonight, we'll see about that. It's been a very long day!

Laurie, that's too bad about your VCR, are you going to try and buy a new one? It would be hard to find one I would think.

Laurie - that's too bad about Cardio Kicks. I had that in VHS and gave it away or else I'd send it to you:( I swear its like playing russian roulette with the vcr these days! You know, sometimes I don't want to see "where are they now" stars when they have not aged well!

Kim - please tell me you didn't get onto the case you were hoping to avoid:(

Did MMA KB tonight. High Reps tomorrow and Dec rotation will be done!
