Cooking question . . .

Chrissysu

I'm making Salmon for the first time tonight. I usually buy it from the store already smoked or restaurants already cooked - I'm a little scared of not cooking it thoroughly enough. How do I know it's done?

I realize you've probably already cooked and ate you salmon...but I was just going to say we cook salmon all the time (like every week) - we buy it fresh every Sunday. Generally, we bake it at 350 for 20 - 30 minutes depending on how thick it is. It is done when it's slightly flakey. My DH also smokes it and grills it. Generally if you're cooking salmon steaks they take a little longer then filets.
