Confessions of an impatient DVDer

DEEDEE

Cathlete
O.k., I was so patient during the taping and all of the waiting until the VHS tapes came out. Then I really started to lose patience and to get grumpy about the wait. Once the DVDs shipped I thought,"yeah" said in mono tone with not excitment what so ever.

Then they arrived, I checked them to make sure that they played and I thought 'Man I waited all this time for this?'(grumble, grumble) I hated the music and I thought the workouts were nothing special. I had just started a new rotation so I was planning on putting these on the shelf for a few months, but I decided to do just one of the workouts.

I did KP&C first and my goodness this workout ROCKED! I loved it! So I decided to do Step Blast next. Funny thing happened, all that horrid music I hated...I found myself singing along with!:D I had such a blast with this workout. I had a little trouble with the double triple step around the step to a squat, to the mambo with a triple triple step around the step. I kept starting with the wrong foot which of course sent me in the wrong direction. The peg leg with a pivot turn I just can't do, too much tork on my knee trying to pull a 360 in one pivot so I just kept it at a mambo. Regardless I had a great time with this workout!

Today I did Super Sets (the premix with 3x of each round)and I can tell you, my biceps are fighting me as I type right now. I loved this one too and I think the stability ball work added a wonderful twist instead of just the 'same old, same old'. My biceps are still shaking from the concentration curls.}(

So after all of my moaning and groaning I did(to myself)about how long it took to get these workouts I have to say that, yes, to me they were well worth the wait. I think you did a great job from the workouts to the music. There are some songs I really don't like, BUT I think you did a great job by providing music that hasn't been heard in 20 other videos. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. So next time I will try to show more patient.:p

Hi, DeeDee, while I was enchanted from the start, but I too have learned about being patient! Because waiting patiently and good-naturedly is a skill that is lost these days and being grumpy and negative doesn't make things happen more quickly, it makes the wait less pleasant.

I was at the grocery store and everyone headed for the check-out at the same time and the line got really long and there was only one cashier! I was watching the people on line and it was a hoot. Eyes were rolling, heads shaking, lips pressed together disapprovingly!

The cashier started calling for help. She sounded rather desperate! I waited very paitiently, smiling and singing along to piped in Christmas carols, thinking how goofy everyone looked and wondering where they needed to go in such a confounded hurry! Since I only had to get home to my squawking kids and, heaven knows, what mess, I figured I rather enjoy my sing along before heading out to be tailgated while fighting all the hurried people in out there!

My sister always says "Patience is a virtue, and virtue is a grace..." One of the definitions of grace is "a disposition to be generous or helpful; goodwill."
Wouldn't we all rather be gracious and filled with goodwill, since we aren't getting anywhere any more quickly than a solitary casheir can get us through her line anyway? I know, I would!

P.S. She finishes it with "..and if you have 'em both, I'll smack you in the face"! http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/laugh.gif
